For all L4D2 players are you ever going back to L4D1

I was just wondering. I couldn't get Left 4 Dead 2 due to money shortages but when I asked my friend if he's going to ever play the first one again he just said "I wasted money on crash course because 2 is better than everything one had too offer".

Are you L4D2 players ever gonna go back to the first one?

I want to play the games someday, but there's so much other stuff to play. I will probably rent the second one sooner or later.

I played the first for a bit and found it fun, but I doubt I would return to it

Probably not. Once the old maps get added to Left 4 Dead 2, I see no reason to. Though maybe a unique DLC for Left 4 Dead would change my mind.

Is this something going into effect for both 360 and PC? And is it just gonna be in the form of a patch you get for free? Or a link to this would be nice. But that would be cool if they did that just with the new weapons and zombies.

I'm going back, since Fat Man doesn't have the sequel yet. But, once he gets it, no. I'll still keep it, since it's great.

No I'm most likely not going to because Left 4 Dead 2 is more fun. Hopefully, Microsoft lets Valve release their DLC without a price tag because Crash Course wasn't worth the points I paid for it.

Valve has said that they do intend to implement the old maps into the new game (I don't have a link for this though). I don't know if they will do the same for the 360. However, even if Valve doesn't the community map makers will, so I still don't need to go back to the original game.

Probably not. Before I had L4D2 I was sure i'd keep L4D just because they are different games and both have their pros and cons. However after playing L4D2 I don't see a single Con compared to L4D. Maybe the levels but other then that L4D2 is just much much better.

I might after the initial excitement of L4D2 wears off, if only because I'm still a few thousand short of Zombie Genocidest. L4D2 will still take up the majority of my zombie slaying time though.

When I play the current maps to death, and the original maps would be a change of pace to go back to, if the old maps arn't added to L4D2, Ill go back to L4D1. If anything, I find the original survivors far more entertaining then the new group.

I will switch back and forth.
Mainly because I fell in love with Louis, Zoey, Bill, and Francis.

I will mainly keep playing L4D just to finish off the advancements.

My copy of the first one started glitching massively one day, it was all downhill from there. The day of the survival pack it was downloaded and then it died completely, always freezing at loading screens no matter what. Turned it in, never bothered getting it again, not going to.

Unless there's some brand-spanking-new DLC that is orgasmicly good, no. I prefer L4D2 in almost every way over L4D 1. Gameplay is better, more special infected, looks better, better story and the charachters are more loveable.

Oh, and chainsaws and guitars...

Probably not. I'll keep it, lend it to friends when they want, but I'm probably not going to play it again.

I dunno. To be honest I would like for the maps and characters of L4D to be introduced to L4D2 as free DLC if you own the first game. I do prefer some of the characters in L4D but eh, I like L4D2 more soo.

No its just not playable after you played the second. I couldnt even play it after I played the demo for l4d2.

They are both good but... I can't say I'll be playing the original anytime soon.

The 3 new special infected change the game in versus so much i dont think i could go back and play it they just make so much more fun and there is less camping because of the spitter which is great in versus.

I keep meaning to alternate between the two but I never get around to it. In all fairness I have left 4 dead 2 on my sleek, fast xbox 360 on a nice television, and I have left 4 dead on my rather dated pc. I think the last time I played left 4 dead was because crash course had come out, I hadn't played it for ages before that because after a while it did become monotonous.

I agree completley. I even tried to go back to the the first one since my friend can't afford l4d2 yet. After one chapter i told him he could play by himself.

I only rented 2, so I'll have to go back to 1 soon.

No. That's all I have to say. Well not really, here's the rest. I like my melee weapons, I like being a jockey, I love scavange mode but most importantly, I don't own L4D1. I only get to play it at my friends, and even then that's not that often I play it.

I'm still playing both. I do think L4D2 is much improved over the first, but still love the original. Plus, I'm still hooked on Crash Course.

I've played the demo and had loads more fun than I ever did with the full game of L4D. I'll never touch L4D again.

I wish they would integrate L4D1 into the second, the only reason I go back now is to just join random campaigns and try to rush ahead of the group and make it to the safe room with no help. I usually make it and it is somewhat hilarious to hear people call for help when I'm relaxing in the safe room. That and I'm still trying to get my last 2 achievements (No Friendly Fire and Nothing Special)

As only having played the demo of the first a year ago, I gotta ask:
What are the defining differences?
I am aware of the melee, level design, characters/special'fected and atmosphere, but is there anything else I'm missing?

As much as I get the idea that "L4d2 is just better," I'm weird. I play TF2 on a mac. I prefer controller aiming to mouse. Also, I feel more comfortable with the dark visuals of the original L4d.

Doubt it.

I'm getting very tempted to go back to COD4 though.
