I gotta go with Oghren, nearly everything he says has me in stitches. But Shale is 2nd because she's pretty similar to HK-47.

Try not to mention the last optional companion if you can, the one that makes Alistair leave because it's kind of a spoiler.

I haven't had the chance to play the game yet, but Morrigan and Zevran seem cool

IS there a option to sacrifice your companions to become stronger in that game? >:D

I mostly like Leliana as a battle companion (stun stun stun) and The Dog as a..person?

I love Leliana, that song of hers is one of the most touching moments I've been privileged to experience in a videogame. I also like Alistair for his humor. but I love them all, choosing one is like choosing which child I love the most or which digit I'd rather cut off.

I liked Zevran and his conversations with Wynne about her bosom xD His accent made it so much funnier!

I also liked Alistar and my female mage romanced him, NO DON'T LOOK! but in the end he's like: Sorry, I be king and all and I don't roll with hoes no more. Morrigan is delightful as well... Fuck it I loved them all!

It has to be Alistair.

Although, to be honest, I've beat the game only the once and I had Him, Morrigan and Wynne/Leliana. Leliana has such a beautiful accent, and was my love choice in the game (Human Noble Warrior - Since you can't be a human commoner) but Alistair without a doubt has such character, humanity, and some of the best bad jokes I've heard.

At one point he says he's been raised by dogs.
Love it.

<3 Leliana

She's so adorable, a real pleasure to talk to, and represents (to me) many of the better aspects of religion in general, Christianity in particular. Plus, her accent. :D (And she actually got me excited talking about shoes. How about that? :P)

Shale is a close second-placer, being a more morally sound version of HK-47, and after that it gets harder to pick favorites... as all of the characters are very likable. Yes, even Sten, once you get to know him well enough.

I have to say Alistair. I still haven't beaten the game, (and I probably won't until after Christmas, as that's when I get the revocation of my gaming systems nullified) but from as far as I've gotten, I've learned that he isn't half bad in battle and is actually pretty funny.

Zevran comes in a close second. I adore his accent. And witty comments. If I had the chance, I would re-name him Luis from Resident Evil 4 just because he reminds me so much of him.

I respect Oghren for his willingness to boink anything that moves.

Wynne - She's useful, having one of the best specs and a fairly good default spell selection, she's a good person with insight to offer the player, has hillarious dialogues with many party members (especially Alistair, Oghren and Zevran) and if she were a decade or two younger I'd be hollering at Bioware for not making her a romance option.

Alistair is a whining baby, Oghren is an annoying alcoholic, Sten is a self-contradicting douche, Dog lacks any personality, Shale is a shallow ripoff of HK-47. Leliana is decent enough, but a bit bland. Morrigan has tons of hillarious dialogue and while she is quite a bitch she's voiced by Claudia Black so all is forgiven. Zevran is pretty awesome, but his default build makes him quite useless, so unless you respec him he's a liability.

The Alistair and Morrigan quips have to be my favourite.

The way they interact and some of the lines they share with one another have occasionally made me stop and giggle.

They got a great little realtionship between them

Hard one.

Alistair is fun but I think that Shale is better as a fighter.

Morrigan rocks - at least with my set up.

Cone of Cold + rock fist = fun times...plus immunity on boss mobs while allowing me to kill all the annoying adds also is amazing.

Sten. He's just so blunt, but let's a light side shine through on occasion if you talk to him enough.

Oghren and Sten.
Oghren is a fucking drunkard, and Sten is as blunt as it gets, but at least they are not annoying bitches.
And the dog is not a companion. It doesn't do anything.

My standard party is Alister, Wynne and Leliana. So it's probably a toss up between those 3. The Alister and *Grandmother* Wynne party chat is particularly amusing.

Leliana = hot redhead with a French accent. I mean really, is there any competition?

Other than possibly Shale for being the HK-47 of this game (as others have mentioned).

Alistar. All of them are charming in their own right, but Alistar is just hilarious to me.
A perfect blend of cynicism, sarcasm, and heroism.
Plus his banter with Morrigan is priceless.

It was a shame that the dwarves was the last race I recruited on my first playthrough. I immediatly replaced Sten with Oghren was my melee damage dealer. He's a riot and a half constantly trying to hit on Wynne.

Wynne: Why do you occasionally refer to Alistair as "a little pike twirler?"

Oghren: Why? Has the little pike twirler taken offense?

Wynne: It's just a curious description...

Oghren: Curious? Gah! Its entirely true! What? You havent seen him twirlin' his pike? Goes at it when he thinks noones watching. hehe! Knocks about in the trees like theres no tomorrow! Caught him just the other day. Blushed all the way down to his navel. then couldnt find his shirt. I swear he's gonna hurt himself one of these days, the way he works that thing!

Wynne: I don't want to hear this anymore, do I?

Oghren: I keep telling him pikes are for stickin'things at long range, aye? Horses and such. Not for twirlin' like a sissy girl!

Wynne: Wait, your talking about and actual pike? like a spear?

Oghren: obviously, what else would I be talkin' about?

Wynne: I ... can't imagine.

Or that instance where he's sad about Branka. Leliana tries to comfort him but he only pretended to be sad so she'd get close enough to smell his silent fart.

And the dog is not a companion. It doesn't do anything.

It has dialogue with the other party members, it can fetch you gifts and a particularly potent early-game mage staff (Piece of Wood) and it's a pretty goddamn decent tank with a large AoE stun coupled with all of its other abilities.

And then there's MABARI DOMINANCE which is the best buff in the history of ever because it involves peeing on things, a thoroughly manly act.

The dog never gets mad at me, he's the easiest to get to like you, so he's my favorite : D
