Scorn delay delayed 2022 release date Ebb Software Kepler Interactive body horror game Alien xenomorph art style

Nightmarish Body Horror Game Scorn Quietly Delayed to 2022

Developer Ebb Software’s nightmarish body horror game, Scorn, seems to have received a delay to 2022. This information is casually inserted into a press release (via Eurogamer) by the game’s publisher, Kepler Interactive, that is otherwise about a new successful funding round for Kepler. The reveal comes in discussing the publisher’s titles for next year: “The 2022 slate includes hotly anticipated titles such as Sloclap’s Sifu, Ebb Software’s Scorn, Awaceb’s Tchia, Alpha Channel’s Tankhead and an unannounced title by A44.”

No reasoning for or direct reference to the Scorn delay was addressed. It was previously slated to launch sometime this year. Scorn being pushed to 2022 sure stings, but it’s only a drop in the bucket compared to how long the game has actually been in development. Gamers first caught wind of Scorn way, way back in 2014 when Ebb revealed pre-alpha gameplay footage and a Kickstarter campaign. Though the first attempt at crowdfunding didn’t pay off, a second Scorn Kickstarter campaign in 2017 managed to secure its funding and then some.

That’s not to say that Scorn hasn’t shown up every now and then to remind interested players that it will still bring the terror when it eventually launches. Last October, Ebb showed off 13 minutes of gameplay, featuring its disgusting (in a good way) environments. You won’t be able to get your hands on it until next year following this delay, but Scorn is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox Game Pass.
