One thing that I am constantly getting annoyed with is when I am playing some multiplayer (usually Modern Warfare 2) and hearing guys talk bullshit to girls. "Hey baby what size are ya t**s??".

My stepsister recently had to spend out the 800 Microsoft points so she can change her name from Beth xD because she was receiving 10+ friend requests and masses of messages a week on her LIVE account. It really annoys me how sad and pathetic some gamers can resort to being and this really ticked me off.

Would like to know how you girls feel about this issue or any guys concerning it =)

yes, guys are assholes.

although i never saw a guy online do this

The Xbox live community doesn't discriminate...its equally offensive to everyone.

These are douchebags with internet anonymity.

I only wish I could trace them and give them a swift kick in the groin.

OMFG YES!
I am sick and fucking tired of random guys coming up to me in Phantasy Star Universe saying shit like "can I see a picture of you" and other bullshit like that.

Even the ones that just say hi to me piss me the fuck off, the come up and just say "hi" out of the fucking blue, yeah I fucking know why you're coming over from your group of friends to say hi, fuck off!

They all think just because they come over, start talking to me and being all nice that I will fucking fall in love with them.

I'd rather have someone ask how big my tits are than call me a faggot or whatever it is they say online nowadays.

Just say "Big enough for your mum to motorboat, dickwad"

Yes, Jesus fuck they can get irritating. Thankfully, they don't tend to be too bad on WoW. I guess that's because everyone assumes everyone else is a fat hairy guy in his mom's basement, so nobody hits on anybody.

On world of warcraft i went on a vent server with my friend (whom is female, 13 years of age) that was owned by the guild we were raiding with. When she talked it got just a tiny bit crazy, though girls probably like the attention. I know i wouldn't mind 20 some odd lonely girls shouting suggestive things to me over ventrillo.

This is why I tend to game only with people I know. It's safer that way.

But, to be fair, this actually doesn't always happen. I've been on there when people are fine.

It's just easier to remember the assholes.

Wow, unanimous votes.

It depends on the girl, I suppose. As for me, I like a little attention; I grew up thinking I wasn't anything special, but hearing the boys compliment my voice (although half the time I know they're really complimenting something else ^_^ ) gives me a bit of a power trip. It's like that scene in LoTR, when the elf queen starts wigging out and saying, "Instead of a Dark Lord, you shall have a QUEEN! Not terrible, but beautiful as the Sun! As treacherous as the Sea! More POWERFUL than the foundations of the Earth! ALL SHALL LOVE ME, AND DESPAIR!"

But to be specific, I prefer the shy gamers who can't say "boobs" without blushing. So cute. ^_^

Yup. I think everyone who has played online has seen this. It's depressing, but quite funny.

I'm not a woman, but I'd imagine "lowlife guys" would always be annoying, online or off. Admittedly, they aren't aren't as straight forward in real life, since they don't have to worry about mace when they're playing MW.

Damn, I forgot where I was going with this.

They annoy me just as much because they keep going "uhm well ah" and so on.

I happen to be a guy myself and I must admit, guys are dicks. It's sad, because a lot of times on the internet and other similar digital locations a poorly worded introduction and they just assume that you're "one of those guys".

This all falls into John Gabriels Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.

Give people anonymity, and they have no need to self regulate. Even those who seem mild in real life can really let loose online and become that greasy bastard at the bar who sleazes all the girls.

Ignore them, block them, do what you will. On behalf of my gender, I apologize to you females.

I've never encounted any of this happening to anyone when I've played online...maybe I just muted them or something, but I've never noticed anyone being singled out

That's not how it works? Crap... I thought I could find a bride over a video game.

Nearly every one I've givin a chance to has turned out to be "one of those guys"
I'll stick with saying "F OFF!" rather then getting pissed off later.

Voted yes, but for a totally different reason that's hard to explain. See, CS public servers' chat where I am can be often annoying, without the topic ever diverting to anything girls' related since the players are often ignorant 15 year olds. In the rare occasion that there is someone playing with a female nick that is also chatty also sounds like a girl, some guys start would try to impress her..

edit: and I'm a guy that didn't pay much attention to the topic title, heh

The way it was phrased wasn't exactly unbiased either.

Is it really much of a surprise that it turned out to be one-sided?

Some guys can be despicable, but not all.

I usually end up with great guys in TF2 to play with that don't give me shit, though, which I appreciate.

I...... I am really sary if this ofends you but your profil picter makes this statment alot less serioss than it shuld be

I'm just such a nerd, I'm going to have to correct you and say it's (Corrections capitalized), 'Instead of a Dark Lord, you would have a Queen! Not DARK, but beautiful, AND TERRIBLE AS THE DAWN (or was it morn? I think it was dawn). Treacherous as the Seas! STRONGER than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!'

</OCDnerdiness>

I know the power tripping feeling you mention though. As a narcissist, it can be pleasing sometimes, in small doses.

Well thank you online jerks, because I get friend requests from girls on GTA IV for not acting like a complete asshole...

I'm no girl, but these guys should grow up. Despite me having more Female friends added on Escapist to males, that's only because I've noticed more female Aussies then male.

Though it is quite funny to act like a female and see their pitiful attempts to chat me up. >:3

That seems a bit harsh, but then again, I've only once had someone ask me for "pics" (in a strange reversal the individual assumed that since I was playing a male character I of course had to be female...) and that was when I gave WoW a chance and later decided that I didn't like it specifically because of the kind of people I kept encountering.

I certainly have to agree with this, dicks are dicks, it's just that anonymity has a liberating quality to it.

It's more like SOME guys online are pathetic.

The ones that annoy me either in LFD2 that make stupid jokes about how girls can't play when I'm doing much better than them on that certain stage and of course after the round is over they friendly fire me until I have to leave with insults flying to me about how chicks are stupid and what not. Or how they kill me multiple times and go into the headset saying, "Are you crying yet b*tch? or "Know your place."

Then in games like Halo - you get some guys that are a bit too friendly, age/pics/location - befriends - lets talk? boobs? Though at least its less hostile and I can actually play till the end of a map - usually.

Oi. It can get quite annoying.

This seems relevant.

Seriously though, I do hate people like that.

How is this even a question? I thought we were all well aware Xbox Live is pretty much full of douchebags and retards. >_>

Ohai thar! :D

And yes, guys who pull that shit while gaming confuse and amuse me to no end.
I say "amuse," because I have roughly 1 GB of footage recorded on Home while acting as a woman.
Yes, the moderators there are quite strict on swearing, but you can be a complete chauvinist tool and nobody bats an eye.

I do feel bad for the guys legitimately trying to make a friend who just happens to be female, though. The ones who won't send you private messages asking for pics or any other information. The ones who legitimately like the way you play and hopefully wish to compete again.
Just another case of the majority setting the tone for everyone else. >_>

Wow this stuff really happens? Whenever I meet a girl on XBL I treat her just like any other gamer out there.

Do me and yourself a favour.
Kill them all just outside the saferoom if they do that.
Do it every single time.
I constantly get shit because I'm a mute and therefore can't use my mic so when I start getting blamed even though I am owning the infected I just kill them all outside the safe room, leave then send each player a message with a long rant.

I never thought of this. I think I know what I am going to do tonight.

Although I wonder how many girls are actually guys who are pretending to be girls. hmmmmm....

This, and every other stupid/ofensive/racist/pointless/unfunny/etc. comment is why I rarely use online multiplayer, and when I do, I have chat turned off. I know that makes me less "Kredit to Team" when I can't communicate easily, but when nobody else is using it for what it was made for, why should I?

(Note I am not a girl, but come on, they are human to, just with nicer voices).
