How Many Times Have You Quit WoW And Why?

I usually get bored after a month and quit for 2-3 month till i wanna play again. Its just TOO repetetive

I got it, played it for a few months, computer got fucked over, mom blamed WoW, never played it again.

But for some reason I want to again. I still have the discs and all that good stuff, but I don't know.

i have never quit but that could be because i've never played it

2, once because it was too hard to do much endgame without sacrificing social life, and the second time was last year when they gave in to all the crybabies about The Frozen Throne and made it really easy to get geared. I left about 2 days before the Lich King was added to the game worlds, and I really laughed when he was downed in like 2 days. He's supposed to be the last boss of that huge expansion, and he died faster then it took people to get through Sunwell or Ulduar when they came out...

It's just silly.

Lolno

Longest Undefeated boss from Patch release to downing. 25 man hardmode has only been beaten by 2 guilds. Its the only mode thats even comparable to the 40 man raids of old anwyay.

That's Hardmodes. He was downed on normal 2 days after. I remember a bug helping them win, but even after the hotfix people downed him the day or so after so it really was a letdown as far as end game bosses are concerned. People cry, Blizzard caves in.

I first played for about a year but it never ruined my social life, put it down and haven't touched since. I don't understand how people can become addicted to it, its not like you are smoking WoW lol.

I can't really answer that, maybe 4 or 5 times?

I always take a break when the content isn't satisfying enough, in fact, I just quit WoW about 2 months ago, just for the exact reason. Also, it really refreshes you up when you don't have to worry about raiding and stuff like that. (I'm pretty HC player on this matter when I get into it >.>)

Possibly starting to play after next expansion is launched, just to see the new content.

3 times for me. The 1st was because I was playing with my girlfriend and she broke up with me. The second time was because my guild leader kept pissing me off. The 3rd was because we were raiding 10 man Naxx and due to a shortage of Healers, we were having to run it with just 2 (me and a Paladin) which was hard work for me and to cap it all, the raid leader insisted every week doing the 4 horseman fight as the final fight of the evening even though every week I asked him to do it 1st as its the hardest fight to heal with 2 healers. Ended up getting too stressed to continue.

Twice, and haven't touched it since.

Once, I was bored.

Before that I Logged in like 10hours a week max (So 2 raids and a bit of idling really)

I'm scared at the lack of people having this answer.
I have never played WoW and I never will.

Not trying to call anyone out but to say you played for an hour and found it boring is really dumb. Many good games, books, and movies are boring at the start. Its the nature of media. (I have no problem if people don't play it, thats your choice.)

That being said I have quit twice. Once between Vanilla and TBC because my guild stopped raiding before the xpac. The second time was at the end of TBC to try out Warhammer.

I've quite twice, both for realising just how boring the game is. I don't think I'll ever be going back.

I played for 3 months in 2005 (vanilla), enjoyed most of it, then stopped because I no longer had the time that I thought I needed to devote to get my money's worth out of the game. I never went back and have no plans to.

I quite once because it wasn't a particularly great game and it didn't feel like paying for something that I wasn't enjoying very much. I have never gone back on my decision.

And I know a lot of people will flame this comment because they love WoW but well all I have to say to that is its my opinion and I don't care whatsoever if you disagree because you are wrong...

:D Now off to go annoy people somewhere else!

well i have played for roughly 3 years i think, and over those 3 years i have stopped playing about 5 times. The first time i stopped playing wasn't really me quitting i just felt like i needed a break, the latest time i quit was about 8 months ago i quit because the raiding guild i was in broke up and they all factioned changed/realm transfered or went to a differant guild. I loved the guild i was in and the people were great, and i couldn't really be arsed trying to find a new guild so i just thought "fuck this.." logged off and froze my account. I wasn't intending to go back but recently a mate of mine at work who played WoW from day one but had to stop playing sometime last year because of his shifts, well recently he quit his job and got a new job with less hours. So with his new free time he's decided to go back to WoW...but then he starts pestering me with texts telling me to go back on WoW and go to his realm, i kept saying no but he wouldn't shut up so i eventually caved and started playing again. Been back about 2 weeks and yeah sure im enjoying it because i ain't played it for ages, but i'm not expecting this to last long. I'm planning on quitting again when The Old Republic is out anyway...if im even still playing WoW by time thats out.

I shall never quit!!!

And you say you quite cause they nerfed stuff? O no you might die! Get over it.

i doubt you'll get flamed :P ok WoW is good but its not amazing

It's better than every other MMO out there (that i know about anyway) but its not that great a game if you understand where im coming from, a better MMO could be made and personally even though i do like WoW i can't wait for another MMO to come and knock WoW off its throne its been to popular for to long. I'm hoping TOR will be the MMO to beat it, but i doubt it :(

3 times (but I think the first two were more hiatuses)...the first because I wanted to try new games, the second because I felt bad because I chose raiding over going out, but this last time all I had to get off WoW (hopefully for good) was type /played and see 4 months worth of sitting in front of a computer farming for imaginary toys and chaching.

1. bored
2. bored
3. bored

Guess I dont learn from my mistakes :(

I hear what you are saying, I guess MMO just isn't really my thing. I much prefer multiplayer with friends because I know that the people I'm going to be playing with are fun. Also the whole paying for a game and then paying more money every month (or 3 months or 12 or whatever) to keep playing seems ridiculous, although I understand why they do it.

Ditto that lol.

once. never again.

It was boring the hell out of me.

Ever since the days before fancy weather and shapely character shadows, I've tended to play WoW for a month, then give up for five or six, and then return for another bash. The excitement of all the new innovations wanes once more after a month of play - the chief memory of which will invariably be the relentless offers of gold from people who construct sentences at random by shaking a Scrabble bag and seeing what spills out.

I would play it if I had a nicer computer, could afford it, or if I knew some of the secrets to make it more interesting and fun.

I quit once, for about two weeks. But that was only because ICC wasn't out. Now I raid like no tomorrow.

Played twice, both for a day (on someone else's account).

Wasn't that impressed, but that was probably due to a lack of people online at the time.

Need help staying off WoW!!!! pleeaase

When ever I got bored of it... which frankly is often. Most of the time it took a few months to start again, though haven't played for quite a few months.

Quit once, uninstalled from comp, havnt been on for around a year.

My server started losing people due to free realm transers and I didnt want to leave so I quit.

And leveling a Warlock is bbooorrriiiinnngggg, I just did the same tactic as it worked all the time.

Just like he said.
But my friend... well he's a totally different story.
Longest time sober: 2 years.
Has been playing since first day of vanilla Wow.
Current status: still addicted.
Number of quits: 8
Reasons for quitting: health reasons(has spent 300 physical days in the game out of 356 last year)
Reasons for playing: PvP.
Future development: Will certainly be still hooked up on the game with Cataclysm coming out soon.

What this guy said -^

Arghhhhhh!!! Darn you laggy escapist for making me think my post wasn't sent!!!
Off: Someone should really take a look and see what's wrong with the site, today it's been acting really strange.

I quit once, two years ago, and haven't looked back since.

The welfare epics, the daily quests which destroyed the economy, the PvP gear that was better than my high end raiding gear, and just how it was making itself too easy to get ahead. Blizz knows how to make a game, and also how to destroy one.

Never, because I find it very fun and I don't whine like a little prick when my class gets changed.

3 times. Once at level 28 (Orc warrior) pre-Burning Crusade, once at level 47 (Blood Elf Paladin) Post-Burning Crusade, and the last at level 65 (Same BE pally) Post-Wrath of the Lich King.

I just kinda got bored.
