Use this thread to talk about your hopes and fears for the game that needs to redeem the COD series in many gamers' eyes. I'll be updating it here when the reveal comes out.

My personal wishlist:

- A beta
- No commando
- Fix the spawn system
- Knife as a secondary (will stop panic knifing)
- Melee with gun butt - 2 hit kill instead of 1 hit (not happening)
- More than one bolt action sniper rifle
- No martyrdom, last stand, painkiller or any perks that reward players for bad play and punish the good players
- No grenade launchers in multiplayer, or at least non-replenish-able ones that occupy a perk slot (too late, they're in)
- Smaller, less camp friendly maps
- Weapon balance - Treyarch got it right last time barring the MP40, I know they can do it

My biggest wish of all:

- A casual, Halo style playlist where your stats and K:D are not recorded.

This would make the game so much more fun for so many people, let the power players have their space, fun lovers have ours

The gun butt idea is silly, because we all know it would be worthless. Commando makes the knife overpowered, not OHK. Well, I suppose the sheer speed and auto-aim unbalance it as well...

wouldn't a knife as a secondary replace all the other cool weapons that are offered? and knifing would be essentially useless as people would just shoot them instead, and it would be really slow to use the knife.

Exactly. I hate the knifing in COD games, it's far too powerful.

To be honest, I'd adore to play Call of Zombies. Bar that, I'm not terribly interested - I have a polarization between Arma2 and TF2 what more do I need?

I know I'm not going to get it, but I'd like to see a game where there was a fire selector. You know, toggle from 3-round burst to full-auto. Actually, including this would save the devs a lot of time and effort(which is money, mkay) because they could cut entire guns out of the game.

For example, if every gun in MW2 could have fired in either at the operator's choosing, the M16 and the FAMAS wouldn't have needed to be included. You'd only need like, five guns assuming there were plenty of attachments for customization.

I've been rallying for this option for a while now, but to no avail. Someday, though. :(

Because if CoD is as realistic as it makes it's self out to be, it would take along time unsheathing and finding a comfortable position to hold an Assualt Rifle and and knife, then it would also depend on your strength.

Rocket Launchers that dont suck! Like the Rocket Launchers in BFBC2, first time I've had a Rocket Launcher kill strike since Medal of Honor Allied Assault days :D

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas seities? That has fire selection and a load of of different weapons with different benifits.

Infact, that would make the game more intresting, if you had a fire mode like in the original Call of Duty, it would shut people up about how guns only have one mode of fire.

So yeah:

Fire Selectors
Better respawn system
Balanced killsteaks
and the inabilaty to run or walk fast with a rifle that fire 50. BMG rounds.

And balanced unlocks.

The amount of killstreaks that can be used at the same time should be limited like CoD4 where only 1 attack chopper could be in the air

I imagine the reason they don't include it is because of the weapon balance issue.

For example, the FAMAS shoots much faster than the other Assault rifles, but because it is burst fire, it's all-round damage-per-second is the same.

Remove knifing from CoD completely,
Have Bash be a 1 hit kill from a rifle with no lunge(Trust me this takes skill if you played CoD2 you would know what a pistol bash kill like to obtain with 2 hits in close quarters).
Maybe a Bayonette attachment to had a slight lunge bash but have it take up a perk slot,
Balance the game better through beta testing,
Drop Kill Streaks altogether more so the UAV type thing I like the Air Strike/Arty Strike,
More varied maps some big and some small but none like Shipment or Kill House that are just made to be noobish,
Have weapon weight be more important,

To be honest I still think the apparent diving is just a guy getting blown away by a nade but I'm sure once it comes out I'll be proven wrong.
Also, nubtubes should vanish, that is all. (The x-bow takes some aim by comparison)

Ok well on that it says nothing about Lean but I suppose I could live without Lean as it seems to have the main things. Hopefully they have added Lean back in as well. My main concerns are the Deds, Mods and setting tweaking.

Maybe a Bayonette attachment to had a slight lunge bash but have it take up a perk slot,

Drop Kill Streaks altogether more so the UAV type thing I like the Air Strike/Arty Strike,
More varied maps some big and some small but none like Shipment or Kill House that are just made to be noobish,

They already announced they were going to have dedicated servers and mod support.

Really that should be with everything. How about: Only shooting the chest and head will kill the person. But you can cripple/take off people's limbs if you shoot them enough. That way shooting someone does something but it doesn't make leg knifing possible. That and make the knife a bit longer to pull out. Or just make the knife animation automatically go for the head and neck that way a one hit kill makes sense.

Yes thanks for letting me know another user already said this but the mod support is not 100% confirmed and will certainly not be at launch. They did not however, say anything about Lean. Although I doubt that they won't include mod support with that message and I am sure Lean will be thrown back in too.

CoD has not had even a semblance of Realism since UO. It is not going to start having any now. The rifle butt system in CoD 2 was quite Balanced in a fight where it was CQ it was nigh on impossible to get the bash in unless said person was reloading and it was a 1 hit kill unless with a pistol which I think is fair. Although if you can head bash someone with a pistol it is a 1 hit kill.

Well they already talked about balancing a lot of things, like perks, so I'm pretty sure they will balance guns.
