[Portal 2 spoilers] Chell In The Rain

Alright just incase anyone can't say I was careless there are spoilers for the ending to Portal 2 here, you're own fault if you read furthur.

Alright, the rest of us knows what happens to Chell at the end of Portal 2, she's allowed to leave and the original companion cube is shot out with her. One person decided that ending wasn't good enough and made this website.

There's really not much to this, just something pleasant you all could enjoy (would make a nice wallpaper actually.)

But really I can just imagine if Portal 2 was a movie this would be exactly how it would end. Chell just relaxing in the rain with her 'best friend', just basking in the freedom she has rightfully earned all the while Exile Vilify, the beautiful music hidden in the game, plays in the background. Obviously Valve would never do this ending because they didn't want to pull us away from Chell's perspective but if this scene started playing I honestly wouldn't have cared.

The title itself is a spoiler, you read a spoilr then read that it's spoilers.

Also,it wassunny where she came out, I want her lounging in the sun, drinkin with WCC.

I think its because if they want to they could continue it the story with a sequal where the outside is fake and she is sent back to do testing.
But it would of made a epic finishing the turret opera also was epic along with the end credits.
But then they could put Chell in Ep.3 so who knows.

Except that Gordon probably died of old age by the time Portal 2 starts.

That's a nice little thing there, very pleasant and quaint.

I thought the ending of Portal 2 was great anyway. Would have been cool if the oft-mentioned deer had just bounded past in the background, but that kind of depends on there still being life on the surface of the Earth.

That's actually pretty cool.
Makes me sad, though.

Well the whole 99999 thing in Portal 2 could just mean the system broke, so it isn't clear how long she was out for.

And Gordon is no stranger to being put into stasis or skipping forward in time himself. I would say its very possible for them to meet up or at least be effected by each other's actions.

And there is the whole thing about Valve saying they might not be doing strictly single player games anymore, so maybe they'll team up, and both players get their own silent protagonist.

To the OP: thanks for the wallpaper.

Why would you want for 2 silent protagonists to meet?

This is nice.

Chell just relaxing in the rain with her 'best friend'

Then she finds that she doesn't have any food and no knowledge of what the world is like.

I always thought the ending to be pretty cruel.

So that they can exchange understanding nods and then make the most badass solemn baby ever.

EPIC STARING CONTEST

ot; i just found a new wallpaper, nice one!

I can't get over this I wish my desktop just automatically had this on at all times.

Well the wallpaper will make do.

The real reason Chell and Gordon Freeman will never meet is because it would be the least interesting conversation ever.

You man answered my question, which was: WHAT THE FUCK? first i was in jungle with overgrown flora and full of tropical fauna, and now i am in the fields, which are carefully touched and worked with?
I really hope they wouldn't end Portal like this, also the ending fields somehow ruined the story for me, except if you're right and we get into fake environment then it's good

Don't forget the sheer volume of lethal radiation and toxic materials she was exposed to. Heck, she's pretty much bathed in the various gels, one of which is explicitly stated to be hostile to human bones (blue) and one that killed Cave Johnson (white). She's a dead woman walking...

This, this made me laugh. Well done sir.

It is still possible though. If Gordon was put in stasis, as mentioned above.

Hahaha, I can just imagine a scene in Half-Life where Gordon comes across Chell, and they just stare at eachother.

It's a beautiful scene, very peaceful. I could help to smile to see her like that. She is like an old friend after playing all this adventure. And th music is perfect for this picture. The National did a great job. :)

(the cube is HUGE int the picture, but I don't care)

Lovely. ^.^
I was so glad when I saw the ending, God knows she deserves it.
(Though I was like: "hey, I can't see anything except miles and miles and miles of fields...")

True, but it's not the same kind of cruel beauty you'd see by letting a bird caged all it's life out into the wild. Chell is tenacious, and if her science project is any indication she's also quite smart. Of course we have no idea what happens to her, but I can imagine to celebrate her newly won freedom she would do what she's doing in the drawing.

I know I certainly would.

Dude, I love that song. It is absolutely stunning. Too bad I found it on Youtube before I found it in the game.

Still, can't complain. It felt haunting and beautiful to find that radio in-game. The only thing solid and irrevocably Human, in a giant cavern of Moving steel and glass.

Actually, it could be interesting to see how Valve would handle 2 mute protagonists, using body language and gestures instead of dialog.

I liked the ending satusfying yet still ambigious

I love that! Beautiful.

I love it easily rivals still alive and the turrent song ok mabye not the turrent song but it fits in beautifully

Aww, she looks so happy. That's just plain adorable.

All the more so because that is something I can totally imagine her doing. What with not having seen sun or rain since she was a kid.

So that's where my wallpaper came from...

Kinda like that part of V for vendetta (the movie and the book).

Oft-mentioned? Once...

And yeah, I liked the ending, if it was a little silly, but it was nice that they decided to conclusively end it. ... I hope.

It'd be funny as hell. Think of the Freeman's Mind you get from that!

Ooooooh, I definitely counted at least three times. One at the beginning of a chamber, one at the end, and another quite a bit later.

we all know that after the screen cuts to black a strider kills her.

HA no really we have established this happens after the black mesa incident so theres going to be alot of adjustment for Chell to whatever is left at the time of her escape.

OT: its a nice little thing for sure tho. at least until the Portal 2 ending is retconned for portal 3.

Man that's beautiful, I'll listen this for a while before I go to bed. It's so soothing, a bit bittersweet in a way, but sorta...catharsic.

I didn't actually find that radio, but man, that's so well put.

I think the fact that she's in a neatly cultivated wheatfield is a good indication. I doubt any wheatfield looks so pristine after centuries, or even decades, of neglect.
