Games you want, but are not willing to pay full price for. Pages 1 2 3 4 NEXT
Assassin's Creed Revelations Yeah, my 'Steam Sale list' is pretty long. Just as well though, I'm only just clearing out my backlog as it is.
I'd have to say most games today. Anything with a sub 5 hour campaign and no multiplayer or multiplayer and no single-player.
Assassin's Creed Revelations and Arkham City are totally worth $50 IMO. The others I haven't played yet. (Amalur's on preorder) Bioshock: Infinite is the only one that springs to mind at the moment.
Dead island comes to mind . Also all the shooters that came out last year which include but isn't limited to . FEAR3 , gears of war 3 , battlefield 3 , mw3, space marine , shadows of the damn etc... Hell the only game that is coming out this year that i will pay full price for is , FFXIII-2 and streetfight x tekken. And MAYBE xenoblade when it comes to NA.
Fifty dollars, eh? Try $100. Australia prices. Besides, AC:R is the worst AC game thus far and I wasn't the biggest fan of Arkham Asylum so I'm not about to pay top dollar for the sequel.
I want infamous 1 and 2 but I really don't want to pay the money needed...mainly because that money would go towards buying a PS3
dead island is 10 bucks on newegg right now (don't have the exact link but got an email about it earlier) OT: anything by activision (don't REALLY want it, but wouldn't mind having it) the uncharted 1 and 2 combo come to mind...i played through both of them and sold em, but after playing the 3rd i want them both back so i can do a marathon one of these weekends on all 3 games.
Saints Row 3 for me as well. I want it for teh pure dumb fun it looks like it should provide, but simple dumb fun isn't worth new game price as far as I'm concerned.
I hear Arkham City is pretty great, but GFWL and a $100 price tag don't go together.
I want to play The Darkness II for totally shallow reasons and thus do not want to drop down 80 bucks for it.
Batman: Arkham City. I bought Arkham Asylum after hearing all the praise for it, then they turned around and released the Game of the Year Edition a few months later that included all the DLC for the same price. I'd rather not go through that again, so I'm just going to wait until Arkham City GOTY edition comes out.
At the moment I'm waiting for a price drop on Assassins Creed: Revelations. Once it gets to around the AUD$40 mark I'll probably pick it up... which I acknowledge probably won't be until about the time the next game in the series comes out, but no biggie.
There are a few games I want for the 3DS that will likely never see a price reduction (looks towards Marios Kart and Land). Once Rayman Origins is released for the 3DS it's likely only going to be a matter of months before that one goes down in price though. I really want Hard Reset too but that would require a pretty substantial investment on my PC. Similarly, there are some iOS games that I'd like but that would require me either throwing down a shit-load for an iPod Touch (because screw the phone) or a shit-load more money for an iPad.
I've recently played the demo of FFXIII-2 and I do want the game, but I'll have to wait to a price drop as I can't justify buying it at full price when it is released early next month. I bought FFXIII for full price and I did enjoy it but on reflection I didn't enjoy enough for it to be a good release day purchase. Also having bought ToR for full price recently and with Soul Cali 5 and Mass Effect 3 coming up I'll be raiding my wallet in the next few months already without adding FFXIII-2 to my list.
If im not willing to pay full price for it then chances are I dont want it... ......if that makes sense
Saints Row 3 and Arkham Asylum would have been on the list, but I managed to get them for free, because I had OnLive vouchers for free games. Now I'd say Rayman Origins. It looks cool, but not £40 cool. Lots of games in the past have fit into this category though, and sometimes it's turned out very well. I picked up Mass Effect 1 ages after release, and wished I'd picked it up sooner.
Just about all of them. €50 is way too much for me to pay, every time I want a game. In 2011 the only game I picked up, brand new was portal 2. Other games I bought this year include GTA: vice city, and final fantasy 7.
Pretty much every game I want falls into this category, because I try to be super stingy with my gaming purchases. If I really want a newly released game, I wait for good enough trade in deals that I can get half the price in store credit, and that works pretty well for me. I don't end up with too many games, but I get the ones I want at reasonable prices. The only game I've bought in the past 3 years at full release price with all cash is Skyrim, and that's because I'd just bought a PS3 entirely with store credit the week before. I also find that staying a generation behind the times helps keep things cheap. That's why I got my PS2 two years after the PS3's release, and I can play all the highlights of the PS3's first 5 years now at cheap prices. Half the time, if I really want to play a new game, I can just befriend the guy who's willing to buy it
Sword of the stars 2, I loved sins of a solar empire and I imagine that game to be that but with ships that you can customize. Problem is the game wasn't released in its final form. Right now its a broken mess of a game so no where near worth 40$
Well, I don't WANT it, but I would play Swtor if it wasn't $60 on release. That's retarded as hell and BioWare should get tons of flak for it.
Pretty much everything on my steam wishlist, which includes Alpha Protocol, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dead Island and Dawn of War 2. I'd like to play the games but I have no idea whether I'd enjoy them or not, so I'd like to pick them up at a discounted price.
Kingdoms of Amalur, I suppose. The only thing holding me back from dropping the $50 right now is the graphics. I'm not sure I want to play a single player WoW, hell I don't want to play MMO WoW, let alone single player. I'll have to wait and see if the reviews credit the buzz it's generating.
Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and ToR. Altough for ToR is more that i am not willing to invest the time it needs, and by needs i mean to get my toon pimped enough to satisfy me.
CoD Black Ops. More specifically, Zombie Mode in Black Ops. I think it's a great little mode but I wouldn't buy the whole game just for it. If Zombie mode came out on XBLA as a cheaper standalone then I would consider buying it.
At the moment, Kingdoms of Amalur, the only other two games I'm immediately interested in are Mass Effect 3 and BioShock: Infinite.
Catherine - fascinated by the idea of a game about sexuality in an at least MORE mature way, but the actual puzzle gameplay is just meh to okayish for me. Asuras Wrath - Demo was crazy insane fun, but the gameplay does seem to mostly consist of Quick Time Events And depending on the Reviews, i will buy the new Silent Hill...but not immediately
Did you try playing the demo? Its not a bad game. I do agree about the Wow visuals though, they put me off.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 Especially since I live in Australia. $100 for a release day game, IF you didn't want any of that collecters edition stuff. Yep, welcome to Australia, we get everything late and double to triple price. I swear this country is so fucking greedy, I sometimes can't stand it.
I'd probably pay $5-10 for Rage(or RAGE), but nothing more. The 25GB download means I'd want a retail copy rather than download though... so I doubt I ever play it. Serious Sam 3: BFE looks like it's exactly the same as the HD versions of the first and second encounters, which I only recently played through (and cost about $5 combined), so I can't justify it's price. I've got a passing interest in Driver: San Francisco and Catherine... so maybe one day when they're cheap I'll pick them up. I don't feel like my life is empty without them though.
MW3, I like the Modern warfare games, but I can't support activision's business model.
Soul Calibur.. what's the latest one? 5? I like fighting games and all but they never seem worth the price tag to me. I'm only getting Catherine on release because I have some gift certificates lying around and I'd only have to pay about 10 bucks.
The Old Republic, I think. A new one would be The Darkness 2
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3; largely because I'm a massive Ghost Rider fan, but I don't want to give Capcom a single penny.
Ubisoft's entire catalog, mainly because of their DRM and "Fuck you, give us money" attitude towards PC gamers. I'm sure the AssCreed series is good, Driver SanFrancisco has gotten good reviews from the only two reviewers I trust but I don't want it just because I don't want to support Ubisoft[1]...Ubi's loss, not mine. [1] I'm aware it lacks their DRM entirely but I still don't want to support it, even indirectly by buying other games they make. I know they're not going to take the hint, and even without their DRM their PC gamer attitude still spoils it.

As the title says.
For me its Anno 2070, it looks good and interesting but i dont think its worth $50.
