Dunmer, dunmer, Dunmer, DUNMER!
Imperial I guess, I'm not a big TES fan so I really don't know much though.
I'm tempted now to switch to imperial just so i can shout "PURGE THE XENOS!"
Nords all the way =D | |
Breton. There magic resistance is extremely helpful for any kind of character. Captcha = Imitation Amerca. Guess somewhere there is a fake America named Amerca in the world.
Wow, you put the two most popular races (judging from this poll alone) in the same category. Some pretty bad luck, there. I went with Argonian, and I guess Khajiits would be a distant second for me. Argonians just seem to be the most original, and they have by far the most interesting customs and backstory as far as I'm concerned. Here's hoping for TES VI: Blackmarsh.
I always end up playing a Wood Elf because i like being a master thief. Then when I'm done with that I play an Orc because I want to break people's faces.
In Skyrim Orcs are the best race due to them just being boss looking and powerful. In Morrowind Bretons are the best, couple their race power of magic resistance with the Atronach Sign and you have pretty much immunity to the most powerful attacks in the game xD
Breton, I've always been liked being a mage character and I prefer to be man than mer.
I've always had a soft spot for the Dunmer (Dark Elves). I enjoy the lore of all the races but I suppose the Dunmer's lore has always been my favourite, and let's not forget about their involvement with the Dwemer.
"We iz gonna stomp da 'ooniverse flat an' kill anyfing that fights back. We iz gonna do this coz' we're Orks an' we was made ta fight an' win!" -Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
What, no love for the Orcs? Hack, slash, kill, repeat. I love it! Their berzerk power has saved my arse a number of times
I see Bretons are a lot more popular than I thought they were. I assumed people would go either Redgaurd or Nord since the other two human races don't have as much to distinguish them. Huh. So yeah, I go for Bretons normally.
Throughout every Elder Scrolls I have always started off Khajiit and hated the gameplay? No idea why I kept going back. Always chose Redguards after too!
What I really like about Skyrim is that you're not railroaded to play a particular style depending on your race. Sure, it's smarter to stick to what they're good at and what their racial powers are, but the gap is certainly not hard to overcome with some work.
Wood Elf first for me and then Argonian in a close second. I used to always play Argonian, pretty much just because they were the only race that didn't look ugly as sin in Oblivion. Now that we have a Elder Scrolls game (Skyrim) that has Characters that aren't terribly ugly I just play Wood Elf - I dig their lore/background and they fit my play style (Archery and Sneak) very well. Although it isn't surprising that Argonians/Khajiits are winning in this poll, as it's a lot rarer to get the chance to be a half lizard man or half cat man, while any Fantasy RPG has Orcs, Humans, and Elves - But Still.... Go Wood Elves!!!
Nords. Because I'm actually Scandinavian. So Nords are basically what I imagine my ancestors would've been like. Except vikings spent a lot more time at sea than Nords do.
I love the Dunmer for their history and Morrowind. Morrowind was far and away the most unique Elder Scrolls game, and the history of the Dark Elves is much more in depth and interesting than that of any of the other races. Instead of detailing every aspect of it, I'm just going to give you this link and tell you to go away - http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dunmer . Keep in mind that that's the brief Lore. Each topic has an article just as long. Also, I'm going to assume that you know the Redguard and Imperials are completely different species. Nords and Imperials would be better grouped together, as the Redguards are from the continent of Yokuda and the Nords and Imperials are arguably both from Tamriel. Plus, the Redguards use magic swords to blow stuff up. Edit - Wow, I realized how arrogant I sound in this. I apologize; I'm that dude who knows way too much about Elder Scrolls and can't wait to mark others wrong.
Did you just pair Redguards with Imperials?! Redguards are not a race of man nor mer! At least pair the Imperials with another race of man. The Redguards are actually from Yokuda, which is gone, but their blood is not similar to any other race on Tamriel. I picked Redguard, obviously.
Breton! Couldn't ask for a more perfect race to play a Bard with, because that's what I always end up doing in games like that. Magic and swordfighting all the way, plus the odd times of sneaking up on a group of people and making them turn on one another with a Frenzy spell. The illusion school seems kinda underestimated.
Yay! I'm not the only one annoyed about that!
Dark Elf for me. Either that or Argonian/Khajiit... "...human? Why the fuck would you play a human race in Elder Scrolls?"
Dark Elves. How can you not love those angry, racist, gravelly-voiced guys?
First TES game I played was Redguard ... so I've still got a soft spot for Redguards. But since Morrowind I generally play Breton. EDIT: And also, Redguards have curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Orc. Not only is there the coolness factor (What with the teeth and all) but they're one of the most readily proficient close-combat races. Plus they look cool!
I usually play as a Nord with a Breton as a second choice. My first character on Oblivion was a Nord and my character in Skyrim is a Nord, not because the Nords are the main residents in Skyrim but because I had already planned to make him the descendent of my first Oblivion character.
Imperial, | |
Either Altmer or Argonian, depending on what kind of character I plan on running.
Kahjiit, cause they are cuddly kitties that will decimate your ass if you mess with them.
Kahjit all the way! orcs are also cool though
Argonians all the way. And I don't appreciate being lumped in with those dirty catssss.
I have to say Argonians. What could possibly go wrong with a giant lizard that can breath underwater?
orcs is da best! | |
Skyrim is a bit unfair to ask this question in, because I feel it gives an unfair advantage to the Nord race. I know you asked it in general, but I think people are playing Skyrim more than anything else. I do believe I like Breton's though as my favorite. It's a shame their destruction magic isn't that great, but the resistance is pretty nice, and the Dragonskin ability can totally save your ass in a pinch. I'm noticing the High Elf is pretty awesome as a straight mage though. That extra magicka boost is nice. I have no desire to play the beast races. Waterbreathing, whoopdie doo.

Greenskins all the way, in all games.
