Halo 4 needs to give some info already.

I mean, the lack of info for 7-8 months needs to end. Like they better give a real good amount of info and not the model of like, the assault rifle or something trivial and stupid like that. All that can be seen on halo 4 is rampant speculation and it is irritating as it is too much speculation and too little knowledge. I mean literally all that there is to go off of is a couple novels, those spark terminals and some concept art with the announcement trailer.

I guess the topic is what do you hope they finally reveal when they do? I heard rumors that they may finally give info at the end of February, but that's it.

What annoyed me more than the lack of information was that 343 said that nothing was official until they announce it. I just wish they'd actually fucking announce something. Another teaser trailer, some gameplay details, some concept art. Anything, really.

They actually just said on their blog, they got Multiplayer fully working, and that while it's not complete, or polished yet, they can play the Single-Player fully.

But no pics. So it isn't much. Although the audio director guy is doing the next week post so that may give some info on the music.

Yeah... I do wish there was pics. Really want to see what it looks like since they said this time the style will be more ingrained within the expanded universe, which makes me very excited.

Well there is sort of hints and such about the storyline (Via, Glasslands, Primordium, and the Terminals in Halo: Anniversary that give a good idea what to expect) and as for concept art they did release this a while back, it's pretty cool.

Sorry, Double Post.

From The Halo Pedian, Halo 4 page.

The art director for Halo 4 is Kenneth Scott. He described the visual style of Halo 4 as being more ingrained in the expanded universe fiction, and more "mature" than before. With the game's increased focus on the Forerunners, the artists have invested heavily on the look and feel of Forerunner technology. It has also been stated that there will be more diversity to Forerunner structures, including fully active Forerunner technology as opposed to the mostly inert and abandoned structures seen in the earlier games.[6]

As for the Story:

Halo 4 marks the return of John-117 as a playable protagonist after three Halo games focusing on different sets of characters.[2][3] Having been lost in space in the finale of Halo 3, John-117 and Cortana, adrift aboard the wreckage of the UNSC frigate Forward Unto Dawn, find themselves near a mysterious Forerunner planet, first seen in the Legendary ending of Halo 3.[7][6][8]

The story of Halo 4 will be heavily focused on mystery, exploration and discovery, and has been described as being grand in scope and scale. Forerunner elements will be featured extensively. It has also been suggested that the game will reveal how humanity and the UNSC have adapted to the post-war world, particularly how they have co-opted Forerunner technology.[6]

Unlike the original trilogy, the story has been designed to be part of a three-game arc from the beginning. In addition, 343 Industries strives for more complete connectivity among all of their future media than before;[6] therefore, the Forerunner Saga novel Halo: Primordium, the post-war novel Halo: Glasslands,[9] and the terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, will "definitely" have "resonant connections" to Halo 4's story.[10][6]

Ahh, I haven't read Primordium or Glasslands yet. I enjoyed Cryptum, but I'm waiting for the others to be released in the same size paperback, because I'm kind of anal when it comes to my bookshelf.

I remember seeing that concept art at the time, but it was a while ago and none of it was final, so the game could look completely different for all we know. I just wish they'd break radio silence.

There is supposed to be some big reveal this month actually: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/121/1217705p1.html

That is if the Finnish magazine is to be believed.

Yeah that, but I still am skeptical until 343 explicitly teases this event.

All I need to know is if sprint and The Flood are in it. If either of those things are in the game, I will not be making a $60 purchase.

I agree with yall i want something from 343 industries when it comes to halo 4

So just because a AA you don't like and a annoying enemy type is in the game the deal is broken?

I guess I should take halo reach back to game stop and get rid of it because the plasma cannon is underpowered.

See how stupid saying stuff like that is?

And besides, sprint would be very useful with all the giant forerunner structures and all.

Halo needs sprint as much as it needs iron sights. It just slowed down the gameplay and was one of the few big reasons that caused the downfall of competitive (and even casual) Halo.

Having sprint decreases the skill gap as it effects jumping and all other movement speeds (strafing, ehem). It is not necessary, and should NOT be in H4.

So just because I can go twice the speed for ten or so seconds the competitive and even 'casual' atmosphere is broken?

You can't shoot while sprinting nor strafe. Sprint at someone with an assault rifle and you would get ripped to shreds (if you are dumb enough to sprint while being shot at, that is). Sprint makes the game go faster and gets you to the fight sooner from what I have seen. If you try to sprint away, someone can always get out a precision weapon and kill you in one headshot (which is easy to get with the pistol).

I think it wouldn't effect halo 4 much, and besides by then there will be some other thing to complain about! Like that new, stupid armor ability that breaks the game! Or that new overpowered forerunner weapon that may or may not be in the game! Or perhaps the new foes have some irritating flying foe that pisses you off to no end? Maybe the story has a massive, gaping plot hole?

Who knows?

I don't care about balance. I loved Halo 3 because of its aesthetics, music and space opera like campaign. Then, the multiplayer, while balanced, it was fun.

I'm hoping they redesign almost everything from the ground up, especially the weapons.

It will have some form of Spartans, some form of alien enemy, at least two traditional sci-fi cliche plot elements and teabagging.

There; cut right to the chase with no extended teaser vids.

PAX East... my gut tells me we'll see a lot at PAX East.

Wait till either PAX East or E3 2012. If Microsoft wants its shiny new dedicated studio to wank off its work anywhere itll be at either of those.

We're probably gonna have to wait until E3 to see something. I know what you mean though; I wish they'd give us something to go on

Sprint is fine, I just hope they drop the jetpack and shield nonsense. Twas absolutely terrible in Reach. Lets hope Halo 4 goes back to Halo 3 style multiplayer.

What info is needed? It's the same damn game that was supposed to have ended with the first trilogy (There were ad campaigns saying that the fight would be finished with Halo 3). You will still play the same guy, fighting the same bad guys in a game that is beginning to suffer from 'Indigo Prophecy Syndrome'.

The only 'new' things they could tell people about would be the multiplayer. And before I get very ranty, I am going to stop writing now.

They better make it good and skill based then.

And do a PC port half a year after release.

SmashLovesTitanQuest:

And do a PC port half a year after release.

Why not just play it on the console? Does it really matter? What matters is the game itself and not what platform it is on.

It should be good and skill based, while not making the game impossible to play unless you play for years to be able to kill anyone.

When I say skill based I mean gun on gun without bullshit like "Slam your hand on the ground and gain immunity for 10 seconds" thrown in. We dont need Halo to go down the road COD followed.

And why not play it on console? Because PC is my preferred platform and has advantages I consider to be greater than a consoles. Sue me.

The game will need aiming down sights, new guns and an assault rifle that isn't an F2000. Fuck dat ugly gun shit!

Well to be fair while immune you pretty much can't do a thing and are a sitting duck. Armor lock did get nerfed to the point where your shields and health don't regenerate while you are armor locking and sticky grenades still stick to you. And call of duty doesn't have invincibility or anything like that (juggernaut suit tells everyone where you are), just giving people who shoot first more shiny rewards that can be very annoying if it can bark.

You bought halo 3 presumably and also presumably halo reach which means you presumably have a console, and while you can argue for days about how weak the processors and whatever are, I am sure halo 4 will run fine on the 360 it is meant to be an exclusive for so the argument now reaches full circle where I ask you "does it matter?".

Well, it doesn't. However it seems some people think it does so I have to ask them the rhetorical question.

That could be interesting, but I only can see this thoroughly happening with the alien weapon set, because different aliens mean different weapons.

Isn't Halo a Xbox360 exclusive, and one of the main reasons people buy 360's? No way it gets a port.

Should be skill based, but not too skill based. Great. I don't think the problem with Reach was the abilities, it was the rifle bloom.
