YOU CAN BE A KROGAN?!? LOLOLOLOL THATS THE BEST THING IVE EVER HEARD IN A GAME EVER

Seriously people? Why does everyone think Krogan's are the strongest, most bad ass, smashiest things in all of fiction? Did we forget what a goddam orc is? Like....ugh.

And whilst we're at it, why don't we throw a proper SPESS MEHREN at the Reapers? Job done, we can all go home.

Hell, did you see the amount of collectors they fought at the end of ME2? ONE spess mehren coulud take out all of that, and at the beginning of the game too, because he doesn't need to sleep with a chicken-legged alien with no immune system.

I was gonna agree with you about all this weird krogan love, but then you dissed Tali.

Jitters Caffeine:
Lucky Bastard got a race upgrade in his starter pack? I was lucky enough to get a Mattock in mine.

MWHAHAHAHA!!! And I do love me a Krogan charge! I barely need to use my gun until the Atlas and Turrets start popping up.

(I assumed you were refering to me as I posted about getting a Krogan a few lines up from you. If I'm wrong in this assumption, please disregard this ^_^)

Oh no, you're correct. I'm trying my hardest to get SOMETHING new. I've been buying tons of Veteran packs to find something I'll actually want to use. I actually got the Mantis 1 AND 2 in the same pack, and I've main'd engineer the whole time. I'd love Quarian Engineer, dropping sentry turrets just sounds TOO fun.

I've been thinking about switching to Infiltrator myself because that's what I usually play the main game as but Krogan soldier can take an insane amount of punishment. I spend most of my time running up and meleeing enemies to death and only using my guns when an Atlas or a turret is in the way.

The downside is that I'm usually the last one standing when the team cocks up. As much as I can take punishment, I can't handle a wave solo.

You know, I thought I would be happy as a Human soldier (maybe a Vanguard) but I have to say that the Quarian engineer class is growing on me...mainly because it's the only alien class I have.

I don't have any new races yet, I'll be incredibly excited when I do. I've been playing exclusively Engineer so far just as a strategic move. Most people I seem to run into want to play solely as Soldier, which is fine and all, but you can't have a team of 4 Soldiers.

Can I just say, this game is fucking GORGEOUS! I'm playing it on my new PC and just...holy shit. Especially the single player demo cutscenes, I nearly shit myself. I also love how they made it to where you can make your fully customized Shepard aesthetic now, and then they give you a code so you don't lose all that work when you get the retail version.

Anyway, as for the multiplayer, I've been playing either a sniper Soldier or a sniper Adept. Sniper rifles are great in this game without being brokenly OP. I think I need to try an Infiltrator for their cloak. We had one person solo almost the last half of Wave 10 using cloak and their sniper rifle.

Edit: So I downloaded it on my Xbox and it looks pretty damn good on that too. Anyone know if there is any site that has done side-by-side graphics comparisons of the PC and console versions? If the Xbox version isn't that much inferior in graphical quality I may get it on the Xbox instead of PC.

Took me a search on google, here you go:

http://www.pcgames.de/Mass-Effect-3-PC-223629/News/Mass-Effect-3-Demo-Interaktiver-Grafikvergleich-mit-PC-und-Xbox-360-868381/2/ " title="" target="_blank">

You might want to have google translate it for you, the url got messed up when I tried to link the translated one...

Seems the xbox is a bit darker, the pc maybe a bit more detailed in some areas, though lacking...I don't know, vibrancy? But you would probably not notice much of a difference in-game, so I'd say it's a matter of preference...

EDIT: I have no idea why there's two links above, I only did one linking and every try to write a new one makes two links again, anyway, use the lower one...

I actually did noticed the darkness on the Xbox version, but that can be remedied if it's a problem. The only other thing I might say is animation on the PC is a smidge smoother during cutscenes, possibly.

Sorry for the double post, but I want to make sure anthony sees this.

What's your set up for your Krogan? I'm enjoying my human soldier, but I feel a little squishy so I'm thinking maybe I can set up some kind of sniper character that can take a few shots before folding.

Really? Because in my PC demo the cutscenes had a nasty habit of stuttering, I wrote it off as another Bioware demo (they can be a bit...unstable compared to the final product) but now I'm worried...

Apology not accepted! ;-)

Anyway, if you want a sturdy sniping character, then look no further then the Turians! They're tougher than humans, if a bit less mobile, so they're great for setting up a firing position. My Turian sentinel for one has upgraded his 'Turian veteran' skill so he does 20% more damage with headshots, and with overload you can scope, overload a Centurion or Nemesis shields and then headshot them dead in moments. (warp isn't too shabby either, especially if someone jumps you, the tech armour is more for someone in the thick of fighting though)
I don't have the Turian soldier, so I haven't been able to try him, but one of his skills is 'marksman'...so I'm going to guess he's good at sniping too... :-p

Just got so peeved by the multiplayer.

If you quit the game you lose all experience points you've accumulated in that game so far, so it's annoying, I HAD to leave because I had a lecture and I was penalised for it :(

Also sometimes the objectives are stupid, like kill an Atlas in 30 seconds with 2 people.

Cobra Rocket

You don't alwayds have a Cobra rocket!

Well you should have thought of that before you used them all!

;)

If you use them all killing Atlas's and then run out well then it's not my fault.

Now what's annoying me is what I'm getting in the packs. I keep buying the more expensive one but I keep getting characters I've already got, and weapons I've already got, it's kinda annoying.

Rivenart:

The cover system REALLY needed an upgrade, getting in and out of cover is a complete mess and since the enemies love to spam grenades it gets annoying.

I've never really had a problem with Mass Effect's cover system. Although apparently I'm the minority.

Just a tip: Engi's WRECK shield dudes. If you put a combat drone behind them, then they turn around to fight the drown and you shoot them in the butt.

True that's what I've been playing as, for some reason Atlas' and Guardians love Drones, they'll frequently turn to face them and ignore everything else. Overload helps to to make them fall back, slow them up and get some free shots in.

That and Call a combat drone and watch assist bonus' fill up even when you have no idea where the enemy was.

I've had some issues with covering or popping up to aim but most of the time it's fine, the rolling when you don't want to is the worst. Had one game though that when I started I couldn't move without rolling for a while, I'd just run on the spot.

I will admit that the ONE issue I have been having is that when an Ally goes down and I need to revive, Shepard will suddenly feel the need to hug a wall right by the downed guy really badly.

Well, usually in a round you fight 3-4 Atlases. I usually use one Cobra rocket a round to ration them and then take out the rest using bullets/powers. However, if I save that rocket, I have one left if an Atlas is the target for a VIP mission.

*sigh* Damn you ME3, you give me so many possibilities. Fuck, that's not an ME3 thing, that's a Bioware thing. I'm already looking at all the different class/race combos. Hell, even the Krogan Soldier, I'm seeing where instead of being a meleeish tank, he can be an anti-armor and semi anti-shields specialist. Which is something I'd really want to do since it seems I need more help on the difficult armored enemies than I do on swarms of lesser normal enemies.

Quarians brought their condition onto themselves. They get no sympathy from me.

Back to the orcs, I think there may be a reason why we don't see a large number of them in game universes that already experienced the invention of gunpowder.

why am I not surprised about the response: OMG TROLL!!!

Put it to rest, wont you. It's such donkey piss. I dismiss any of your 'arguments' because it is so packed to the brim with fanaticism, it's like Bioware has their own special cult of gamers.

When it comes to multiplayer there isn't much else to say other than my opinion. When the other side is just going off about HOW SHINY AND SPECIAL IT IS AND OMG BIOWARE!! Do you guys honestly expect me to take that seriously? You guys are acting like a bunch of Justin Bieber fangirls at his concert. I can't take you seriously when the post is overflowing with bioware buttkiss. This is not a fault of mine, it's a fault of yours.

Finally, I already listed why I dislike the mulitplayer; generic, boring. You have to run around the whole freaking map looking for enemies. What is this? Hide and fucking seek? I thought this was horde mode, it feels like i'm playing peek-a-boo with Cerberus.

Plus dont get me started on crappy origins service. It sucks.

In your very first post here you said that bioware fans opinions dont matter.

As in you said that a people that like a certain thing do not have the right to the same amount of freedom of speech as you.

Logical conclusion = You are a cocksucker.

That is not what I said at all. There's a difference between Bioware Fans and Bioware FANBOYS.
Fanboys are those people over at BSN that defend everything Bioware does. Bioware could unleash a nuclear bomb and aslong as it doesn't hit them, the fanboys will defend it.

Lastly, your second sentence is completely nonsensical. I didn't say "you're a fanboy so don't speak". I said and i'm parphrasing here "you're a fanboy so you shouldn't speak" Huge bloody difference here. One implies freedom of speech is determined by how fanatical you are, the other believes fanboys have nothing of value to share, so thus their opinion should be void.

Well to be honest most of my skill points are towards concussion shots and inferno grenades. Apparently the fact that I got a Krogan as soon as I did is lucky as hell so I couldn't give you much advice on a different character as I haven't used anything besides the Krogan at the moment.

Specifically I'm using the Matlock rifle along with the Mantis sniper rifle. I use the Matlock/melee attacks to deal with Assault Troopers/Centurions/Nemesis/Phantom and then switch to the Mantis when I'm trying to get a headshot on the Guardians or looking to take down a turret from a distance....as strong as my health and shields are a turret will still make mincemeat out of me. Hopefully that's something they'll fix in the full release.

Although there's always the chance that turrets don't need any change and I'm just being a moan because they tear me apart. ^_^

This will all be acceptable as long as all the time i spend playing the demo multiplayer will reward me when the full game drops, either with unlocks or with a decent sized chunk of credits or whatever.

I'm kinda surprised how this thread exploded.

Interesting logic. This is the gaming forum meant for gaming discussion. Not a place for biodrones to wank each other off.

I very much doubt it. Isn't this practice and, more importantly, fun, enough?

Welcome to the generation of Instant gratification and Reward Me Please.
Ergo sum David Savage's post.

I don't wanna be chicken little or anything, but who can see this happening about a month after the full game drops?

"Now, those who don't want to wait for random item drops can purchase the character / weapon of their choice for the low low price of US$4.99 800 Bison Dollars each."

Actually, that or something similar is quite likely.

For instance, I imagine the post-launch DLC will focus on the multiplayer since there's not going to be much in the way of viable story-driven possibilities once the whole reaper situation is done with.

It'll be interesting to see if they stoop to $15 map packs.

To be honest, I'm fine with that. It's co-op, if someone wants to pay 5 bucks to unlock something, what do I care. I'd rather keep my five bucks and actually enjoy the character progression.

Oh! Oh! Dealing with turrets is easy once you know the trick! Let me share! :-D
First you need to know where they are so you don't accidentally step next to them and get turned to sheddar, that done you place yourself in cover so you have a shot at it. Now fast shooting guns like smg's and assault rifles should be used against its shields, or if you have it, overload is God. Then slow shooting guns like pistols and snipers for its armour, or incinerate or similar if you have it. (Sorry, I don't mean to sound condescending, but it's good to at least mention the basics in case someone doesn't know them.)
Now the thing with turrets is that they do a lot of damage, right? Well yes, but they are also predictable in how they shoot.
When you're firing away at it it'll start shooting, then you go into cover and let it continue to shoot...it will do so for a while and then stop to, as I figure, to reload, during that time you're free to start tearing away at it again.
Now I'm not sure...but it seems as if hitting the barrel and/or the red lights at its front does a little more damage to it, as if it is it's 'head'...
It's also interesting to note that it's semi-slow in turning, I've seen some vanguards and infiltrators use this to their advantage to appear right behind it and shoot it up up close...though I find it too risky you might want to try that if it's more your style.

Now what I want to see is a Quarian infiltrator using sabotage on one of those and watch it tear the engineer placing it to shreds along with a few of his buddies...

I just finished playing the multiplayer.

I.
Am.
In.
AWE.

I also just snagged the Salarian Infiltrator. We'll see how that one turns out. :D

I actually wouldn't mind that. It allows those who want something now a cheatyface way to get it, and the rest of us can stand around being manly. Everyone wins!

Am I the only one having trouble with disconnects and such on the PC version? I tried it for the first time tonight and was constantly getting dropped from games even though my connection is more than fine. Hell, not 5 minutes ago I got dropped from the servers right when we were all at the extraction point, which makes me mad because I had earned tons of money and EXP that round.
