RJ 17: Don't invoke his name! I'm the one that apparently got him talking long enough for him to get that final red on his bar, we don't need people summoning his ghost! He's like Beetleguese!
Do you know which post he got banned for? I can't find it!
Seriously man, I've been waiting weeks to see what finally did it, and I have no idea. It happened while I was asleep. I need some fucking clarity and closure over here!
Heh heh heh, I see what you did there. :P
Honestly I don't know what post they banned him for. All I know is that he was banned for the topic in which me and him were having a 2 day discussion about why other people's opinions are just as valid as his since they're based on neutral evidence that is open to interpretation. I retired for the night on Day 2 and had a large post ready for my opener on Day 3. I go to the topic, start typing my response, go to post it and apparently between me starting my post and pressing the "post" button, the topic was locked and Zeel was banned. Guess the mods just had enough of his "I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE ALL STUPID FOR DISAGREEING WITH ME!" attitude.
They banned him because he admitted on Giant Bomb's forum he came here only to troll.
My God. How can so many people not get the (extremely obvious) joke.
I'm gonna go to sleep now, and when I wake up I am coming back. If I see people with 5.000 posts take this kinda thing literally again, I will... Well, write another post expressing my disbelief.
This isn't to blast him, it's just hilarious. You can track his movements from moment one.
Okay, those badges are just glorious. Like reading the passage in Hitler's diary that goes, "May 1941- decided to invade the Soviet Union. Had eggs for lunch."
Somebody should write a final post-mortem on him, detailing the rise and fall of the mighty Zeel Empire.
I could do that while I wait for EternalNothingness to implode (as I was planning to do it to him).

To be fair, I have no freaking idea what he's satirizing. I suppose it's supposed to be aimed at inconsolable fans, but that seems too easy.
Zhukov: Is this a joke or a just a failure of reading comprehension?
They were voted worst company in an internet poll and they've been receiving mail from... er... concerned citizens about the homosexual content in some of their games.
The two are not related.
OT:
TheKasp: You know why EA won? Because a lot of the idiots on 4chan are still butthurt because of ME3 and most probably bombed that voting. Because EA is by far not the worst of them all. How about GameStop, a mentionable oil company from last year or some of hundred other companies that are just not as well known.
With all due respect, ad hominem. And a false ad hominem at that.
Admittedly, there are worse companies in America and they shouldn't have won "worst in America". However, EA has done far worse than just the Mass Effect ending. 'Sides, 4chan probably doesn't care about the Mass Effect ending.

I object to that presumption. There is no topic in existence that 4chan is not both aware of and infuriated by.
Sorry, but this whole thing is just ridiculous. They are in no way the worst company. People should have to take some kind of test to prove they actually know something other than "____ IS EVIL CAUSE TEH INTERNET SAID SO"
Ye Gods. Zeel got nuked into oblivion and he still manages to poison a thread. As for the whole EA/Homophobia nonsense, I'll state the following:
I never agreed with the Retake crowd. I never asked for a completely new ending, although it'd be nice if we did receive some closure. Ergo, the DLC epilogue will more than likely seal the deal for me, unless it's just thrown together with duct tape and a few pious prayers.
EA has some pretty piss-poor business practices; but as far as advocating social freedoms, I think it's actually one of the most forward companies out there. We can't really forget that it continuously backs up another franchise that's weathered through its fair share of hate-mongering criticism. I'm, of course, speaking of the Sims series.
Check around and you'll find these same "Family Values" crackpots harping on about guy-on-guy Sim couples, girl-on-girl, White-on-Black and any other pairing that stays in the limits of realism. Oddly enough, guy-on-male-werewolf gets no guff from them, or girl-on-zombie, and much less girl-on-Grim Reaper.
As EA themselves have said, this isn't protecting their children's innocence, it's thinly-veiled political pressure from conservative groups.
If you've got a political statement to make, for God's sake, then say it out loud and swallow your pride once you're laughed out of town for trying to bring us all back to the Stone Age. I hate it when I see politicians finagling their way around this or that gaming talking point for the sake of garnering more voters.

Thinly veiled political pressure I remember them sometimes intentionally drumming up. There's the Liara controversy on the genuine side, but on the other hand there's the Dante's Inferno debacle. ALL of the backlash from that game was entirely their doing, down to staged protests and boycotts. Yes the point remains, I thought I'd just add that EA kind of asks for it more often than not, whether or not their games are actually bad.
Over a thousand posts in three months, all of them dedicated to trolling the balls off of Bioware fans! Celebrity status! Massive fights! How'd you miss them!?
The only way I can see you missing him would be if you didn't enter a single ME3 thread since January.
In response to a vile show of hatred, EA - the Worst Company In America - has made clear they are taking no notice of their recently being inundated with complaints about the portrayal of gay and bisexual characters in their games. GI.biz reports that the publisher has confirmed they've been on the receiving end of "several thousand" emails and letters protesting the inclusion of LGBT characters and relationship options. Because it's 1950. Of course EA have, in slightly more polite terms, told these dismal hatemongers to fuck the fuck off.
So entitled, vocal minority, fanbois and homophobes, anything else EA/Bioware might want to call their customers?
How about "people who didn't pass their basic reading comprehension exams"? Read that article again, "The worst company in America" is only mentioned as a side-note, a "description" of EA, it has NOTHING to do with the article.
The article itself is about BioWare/EA getting a ton of homophobic hate mail about ME3 homosexual options. Their response is "fuck off". Nothing to see here, move along now.

Eh, that's not an ad hominem. It's just a statement of cause and effect (possibly an incorrect one, but not an ad hominem). It's like saying "you know why we can't Guantanamo Bay closed? Because the Republicans in congress keep blocking legislation to try the prisoners in the US."

Very interesting. I likely missed it if Zeel was focused soley on Mass effect threads. Before release I was pretty indifferent to Mass effect 3, after the shitstorm I think I only engaged in maybe 4 topics out of the dozens that popped up. I sort of regret it now because after reading one of the last posts I rolled over quoting himself to disagree with himself. (though it might have simply been shitty VB coding.)
Seriously, there are times when it's just plain embarrasing to admit to being a gamer in polite company, and today I'm feeling that in spades. ... Given the issues surrounding being a gamer and being gay, it's refreshing to see a company that actively supports that community. And despite what the haters claim, these relationships are not forced on players.
It makes me wonder just which party compromised this vote in the first place - the highly vocal Mass Effect fans forming fleets to fight the apparent good fight, or the anti-gay activists writing in their indignant "won't somebody think of the children" letters?

and yet... not anywhere in that quote, did he say or imply "the people who voted us worse company in america are all homophobes"
Also in the forbes article "(Update: This is an important point. I don't think EA is necessarily pointing to the hate-mail as a direct response to The Consumerist's award; as noted, the bad press surrounding EA goes much further than that one award.)" . . People are trying to take two unrelated events that happened at the same time and the responses to each of them as the same thing.
It reeks of desperation to find any possible way to hate on EA.
not sure fanbois is the right word. as i understand it, a boi is a lesbian who gets a sex change that makes them look like a feminine teenage boy, so they can have sex with a lot of girls. i dont recall bioware or anyone else saying that mass effect fans were that (though im sure there are bois who love mass effect)

It isn't ad hominem? He's dismissing what people voted for by associating them with a largely looked down upon group and saying that they're just "butthurt". I thought that was fairly clearly ad hominem.

I think we have plenty of reason to hate them already. This is simply more fuel for the fire.

Ahhh. What the fuck. This is the like ending of the Sopranos all over again.
It wasn't for any specific action here. He made a post on the Giant Bomb forums admitting to trolling, and actually saying people should make accounts here to help him troll. After receiving a unanimous reaction of "ಠ_ಠ" from the community there, word eventually reached back to the mods here. He was banned, and now we're looking for a new candidate to fill the role of official forum crazy guy.
I won't name anyone, but I could point you towards several people who fit that role already.
lacktheknack: Boag, you need some sleep. Try a full eight hours tonight, then come back and try again.
And some heavy drinking.
Boag don't turn to the darkside. Zeel's behind it all!
Well look on the brightside, Zeel is banned lol
OT: I dont think thats what their saying...
EDIT: Have you seen Zeels profile on GIant Bomb? It's hilarious, he has medals for "Having a moderator check out your forum post" then Having a moderator check out your profile" then "Have a moderator comment on your post" then "Have a moderator send you a private message"

Exactly.
I despise the Company EA. But not for Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars The Old Republic, it is for there business practices. I do not like what the company thinks of there client/customer base and I do not like there Draconian DRM. If EA went out of business tomorrow I would losee sleep over it.
I do applaud Bioware for there willingness to go out of the way with the writing and story of Mass Effect and the new Star Wars MMO. It is the 21 century Homosexual relationships do occur. And they only occur in game if you fancy same same sex over the opposite sex, you have to talk to the characters more who have the same gender more than the opposite and choose the relevant decisions in one of the many choices you have in the game.
Does this mean you Commander Shepard is gay you have to be gay, NO it does not. But it is something I would like to toss out to those homophobes who bash these games for homosexual content. There only Homosexual events in the game come up if you make choices that are determined to be classified as Homosexual. As you Pick your characters Gender at the beginning of the game, and there no flags to prevent same sex or opposite sex relationships such same sex events in game is the results of the player actions.

Ad hominem is more for dismissing actual arguments. If someone made an argument on why EA was bad, and he said "you're only saying that 'cuz you're butthurt about ME3," that's an ad hominem.
Dismissing a vote because he believes the voters were ignorant? That's not ad hominem, though it's stereotyping. It's like saying "this guy won the election because he rallied young people who were upset at the previous incumbent's party." He was just doing it in a rude way.
With all due respect, ad hominem. And a false ad hominem at that.

Is it? Because if it is than you imply that all the aftermath after the ME3 "dilemma" had no impact on all of that. The way I said it may be rough but can you truly deny that a recent event that got a load of people in arms with "charities", petitions and hundreds upon hundreds of dicussions over every forum there is, had no impact at all?
Don't forget: The whole thing with ME3 was boiling for months. People attacked in thousands some woman working there for reasons she had nothing to do with, ripped every piece of information apart and saw in every announcement pure evil. I can't remember a thread about ME 3 in the 2 months before release where it did not end in hate towards Bioware and EA on the second page, especially when Zeel started to troll people.
And don't underestimate 4chan. They crashed less interesting votings and I used them several times for small votings now just to show my cinema how stupid their votingsystem is (I also described that problem to friends of mine working there [By posting the link just several times during one day I added hundreds of votes to a site that sees 300 votes in a month at best]). Add to this that video games and hate on EA are probably some of the most common things people share there it won't take much to get a load of people to vote for EA.
I say it how it is: Would the vote be in 6 months, EA would not win. They probably would not even be in the top 4. Simply because most of the outcry sprung out of the ME3 ending will be dead by then. Recent events pulled the vote "in their favor".
SmashLovesTitanQuest: My God. How can so many people not get the (extremely obvious) joke.

I swear i've mentioned this before, but if the joke is so obvious and so many people aren't getting it, is it really so hard to explain it rather than complaining that nobody gets the joke?

I don't know if there is more to the quote, but this quote says absolutely nothing about everyone who voted EA the worst company being a homophobe. You're coming across a bit insecure here.
