What does "your" Tali look like ?

So this may already have been done and i didn't see it but i would like to know anyway what you other escapists thought

so as well all know buy now if not spoilers I'm or what ever im sorry but in me3 we see a photo of tali with out her mask on
and its just a regular looking humanoid which we all now have been enlightened to know was just a stock photo altered to look
like what a possible quarian might look like, now while i have no real objection to the photo of her she is not "my" tali, buy this i mean
after 3 games and how ever many hours this filler picture is fine it serves a purpose but not to me.

I had already come up with an idea of how "My" tali looked already and that generally was how it was going to stay regardless of what
was placed into the mass effect world about, i note i place "My" in quote unquotes as this is applicable to me and my views and opinions on what she was to me how she looked, My Tali basically

So my Question is what did "Your" tali look like ?
what did you imagine her to look like, what was your own ideal looked for what lay behind that mask ?

My personal tali looked like a cross between a Kaminoan from star wars (The race that made the clone army) and Rei Ayanami from Evangelion.
I always imagined Qaurians as a race to have a general albino look given that they are always in climate suits having terrible immune systems and as such have very little colour to them so bleached looking skin, thin white hair if any at all, possible markings or stains across the skin were they have contracted and survived contact with illness outside the flotilla, biotech circuitry running across portions of them and general human looking forms with the obvious changes as seen from quarian bodies so far.
So as for tali herself, i always imagined she had quite defined features like cheek bones, chin etc, a thin defined nose, small ears that were jagged around the edges having small points etc, obviously like i said bleached looking skin, pale lips that were very light purple in colour, mid length, unkept pure white hair, large eyes that stretch slightly further back around her head but still humanoid in shape, pitch black in colour with large, bright white/violate irises that have no real shape or pattern but seem to just glow and shimmer as if stars (this was the biggest thing for me) no eyelashes or eyebrows, biotech circuits running up her neck and from under the hair line and across the forehead slightly, and this was just a personal choice i made up myself while thinking about it one day but a darker grey patch over one eye running down her cheek were she caught something and survived.

of course this is all me, pure conjecture and i don't even expect it to be right buy the laws of the mass effect universe but for me as a player and a fan of tali this was what she would have looked like and how i imagined her from start to finish.

so tell me what did yours look like ?

...but I totally expected Bioware to go the "space elf" route, because Enkindler forbid the neckbeards get taken out of their comfort zone.

I was fine with how she did look. I always pictured space elf, but the photo they used was good enough.

I was just HIGHLY disappointed to learn all they did was use a pre-existing picture and shoop it fairly lazily. They couldn't have hired a model to take a unique picture? They crafted Miranda after the likeness of a real person's entire body, but they couldn't get one damn picture for Tali? I am disappoint.

Cost vs. return. Miranda had the potential to be in the party for 99% of Mass Effect 2. Tali's picture is seen once and then done. I have no problem with how she looks in canon, nor do I have any problem with the way they decided to show it.

Somewhere between Micheal Jackson and Kermit the Frog; only you know, purple and female.

I never imagined a face for Tali. Whenever I'm presented with a masked character I just accept the mask as their 'face'. I don't see the point in imagining a face, either they never reveal it and it doesn't matter or they do and whatever you imagined was probably way off. Either way you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Well technically dead at the bottom of a cliff.......well then.

DAMN, I was going to post exactly this, it sprung to mind as soon as I read the thread, naww :(

This is exactly how I feel.

I am fine with how she looks, it's just pretty damn disappointing they didn't hire someone to pose as Tali's model.

Was I disapointed by how they had Tali look? Yes, Am I mad? No. But to answer the thread

I was hoping that the Quarians would look like Dr. Zoidberg.

*sniff* Your post sir is simply too awesome to happen.

I would've loved if the Quarians had ugly deformed, peeled off skins to show the impact of the Geth/Quarian conflict and that they no longer live in their natural environment. That also would've made the Shepard/Tali ten times more interesting and that's really not saying much.

captca: mum's the word...

You got that right captcha.

This. I was fine with the shopped image and thought she was beautiful.

UNTIL I learned it was literally just a strock photo that can be easily found over the net, and that's when I saw the pathetic shopping compared to the original image.

Then it felt like I'd been lied to.

Seriously, I would have been okay if they never showed her face. It would have been disappointing, but I'd have gotten over it...I'd be too distracted by the godawful ending.

I was expecting them to simply not reveal it. Nothing was gained by including it, nothing would have been lost if we were never shown. Given that they deigned not to create an actual character model for this, I'd have actually preferred if they left it a mystery (a photo just doesn't have the same impact). Though as to what I was expecting...well, I never had a solid image for them in my head, but I was certainly not expecting them to look like humans who had an accident in shop class. I was expecting them to at least look as foreign as the Na'vi in Avatar did. Conceptually...I'd say this probably came closest to how I figured the quarians would look:

It's not perfect, mind you, but it works as concept art. It's not as exotic as the Turians, Protheans or Elcor, but unlike the image Bioware gave us it actually feels like a separate species rather than a sub-species of homo sapien.

Like this

Based off of a little sketch in the artbook Tali will always look like this to me...

...I was going to post but I see that this thread has devolved into that "LOL Tali is really a predator" meme. I dunno, some people seem to really hate Tali fans for some reason, saying that they hope that Bioware makes her ugly just to screw with us, I just don't get that. Why would someone want a product that is going to be released to the general public to be crap simply because they don't like the way that people who like it act? You don't see me going around saying "Herp Derp I hope Half Life 3 sucks" even though I think the fans are annoying do you? I suppose that there are some obnoxious Tali fans on the BSN but is that any excuse? Are you telling me I just need to find one concentration of people who take something too far and then its a ok to wish failure upon them and their expectations? Should we be praying that Fallout 4 should be bad because No Mutants Allowed exists? It seems rather shallow is all.

Well I might as well post about what the thread was supposed to be about, I saw a space elf myself, but one that was clearly not Human and more well done than the lazy cop out that we got.

Personally, I was always partial to this one:

A little anime, but then I like anime. :p

There was actually a picture done a while back of what Tali could look like under the mask that I really liked.

I'd probably change the nose and eyes a little. Make the eyes completely white and stuff like that...

Besides that, it's really well done, and we get Garrus, Thane, and Miranda to boot!

Yep. Pretty much that. If they're always in the mask, you mentally characterize them as such. Take off the mask, they're not the same individual you knew with the mask on. I looked at Tali's photo, and nothing in my head agreed with it.

A rotting corpse by the time I began Mass Effect 3.

That rocks. I love that - kudos to the artist.

I know people love Mass Effects original and believable *snicker* aliens, but I see a problem here....

how does a species develop backwards raptor talon feet....and somehow still has a perfect attractive human face? I call bullshit on the premise of fan wish-fulfillment.

Hehehe.Tis funny 'cause my Shep looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger.I was really dissapointed with the thing Bioware presented us.
I wanted a sexy alien chick, not a cooky-cutter space elf

Oh well, the is always this

Saved.

sage42:

Not gonna lie, that's how I think the female Turians look.

OT: Like a cyber night elf with less long ears. I will always associate Quarians with purple because of Tali's character design, so I think of Night elves, who are also purple. That's how I imagined her.

Bioware's design is nice, however, but they could've got a better way to present it. I mean, not only the normal arguments of it being a lazy stock photo shop, but also in how you get to see it. A picture, one that is fairly hard to see thanks to the light, is just picked up and viewed. Hardly the ultimate moment where the player finally sees what the Quarians look like, a race that has lived inside full body suits for hundreds of years. It felt so underdone, more of an after thought.

One of many reasons why I feel Mass Effect should have stayed in development until September, at least. That way, possibly a better ending, the game would be more stable on the PS3, Multiplayer could be expanded to be more meaningful and most importantly someone could have put in some fucking quest tracking! Seriously, what was up with that?

Calumon: I thought she'd look Russian...

Jack: People from Russia don't look like anything in particular.

Calumon: You mean they're invisible!? :O

Really the only thing I expected was her to look less... humanlike and I just assumed the race as a whole had really long faces because i imagined their mouths we behind the circle part of the mask.

Jack and Calumon:
snip

Calumon: I thought she'd look Russian...

Jack: People from Russia don't look like anything in particular.

Calumon: You mean they're invisible!? :O

completely unrelated, and I don't know if you get this a lot, but I like the Jack and Calumon thing you got going on. Its pretty funny and clever :)

I could of gone with a predator, Darth Vader or even something else...but i decided on something different, something more uniform and reflective of the entire Quarian race:

Incidentally, i now want you all to picture what a Doctor Who/Mass Effect Cross-over would look like.

sage42:

Holy Shit that's ADORABLE! If Tali looked like that, i'd probably end up hugging the hell outta her.

I imagined something like this in a female younger version. A bit of a Sectoid head shape maybe.

Someone who wears a mask most of the time, has to look a little gross.

She might have a space elf face. But she still has freaky goat knees.

Sorry. I had to.

This: Only blue-ish purple. She's cuter when she smiles...HONEST!

image

Scratch that...stop the presses...I need to post this update.....I can't believe I screwed this up...there's only ONE Sci-Fi beauty for me, and Tali should have her face: So THIS....only blue-ish purple.

image

Can I have both? Morphed into one?

I still haven't seen her, I'm waiting to see it in game on my second playthrough, where she's my LI (don't know how I managed to avoid stumbling upon the picture yet). This, however, is just perfect:

sage42:

Whatever she looks like, I think I'll just go on with this instead. I love it so much! So strangely alien, and yet cute and beautiful.

Captcha: perfect world. See? Captcha agrees.

I thought she might look a bit like Max from the Sam and Max series.
