If you've played the games then you know her attacks and animations are goofy and childlike (she even has a Dan fireball). Her voice is too but I guess that doesn't mean much in a Japanese game (Felicia). The wiki says "The body she received from Jedah was the image that Lilith wanted to be, obviously an imitation of Morrigan" and that it possibly reflects her personality. But here's a win quote:

It implies that she isn't satisfied with the body she has, and wants to grow up or wants to look like Morrigan, which is childish. And then there's the innuendo...

When it comes down to it, plenty of female characters in Japanese entertainment look way younger than they perhaps should. The pretend age, or any backstory that they might cook up for a character like that just doesn't matter when we're talking about sex appeal.

If you're saying she doesn't look like a kid to you, then wouldn't that settle it? I think at worst, I might question your sense of aesthetics.

Lilith isn't a loli. Instead, people consider her one because of the other Darkstalkers characters that she gets compared to. It'd be like comparing someone's girlfriend who happens to have smaller breasts and/or look a bit younger to a bunch of Playboy models. By that comparison the girl will look like a loli, but as soon as you start comparing her to actual lolis or even just to random women then she'll seem normal or even hypersexualized.

Also despite what some people are saying, you aren't a hypocrite. Believe it or not, it is possible to enjoy something while still thinking the process as a whole is overdone. To use an example similar to your own that is present in my life: I think that the first person shooter is overdone and is taking our industry in a bad direction, yet I really enjoy playing the Halo games. Does me liking a single FPS make my thoughts on the oversaturation of FPS games suddenly moot? Of course not.

I did a quick Google with little solid results. In this conversation the OP is saying that Canaan is actually 20 years old. He's arguing that Canaan was 18 years old during the Shibuya incident, and the story is set two years after that.

Edit: This wiki seems to back that up.

I hope she is an adult. Because when I first saw her, I have to say I thought, "my God, that's one sexy, badass woman". Being badass and independent makes women sexy, in my book.

Also, some of you may be looking at the moefied fanart. I started to like Lilith because of her in-game sprites, not fanart. I liked Lilith before I was big into the internet anyway, so I didn't even see a lot of Lilith fanart.

If you'll notice, they have the exact same eyes, face, and legs. The only difference is actually hair colour, boobs, and hair length.

I'm probably pretty shallow. As I'd probably have wound up liking Morrigan's sprite if she didn't have those boobs or that long hair. And in turn like her actual character just as much. Though there are some things I already don't like about Morrigan's personality. She seems so fixated on her own beauty and that's a turn off. It's like Morrigan has too much self esteem in how she looks, and Lilith has too little.

I have some things I dislike about both of their characterization. But I'd at least like Morrigan's sprite just as much without the long hair+boobs combo. Back when I was first playing the games, and Lilith was first introduced, I have to admit, I was pretty happy to be playing as a character that wasn't as curvy as Morrigan.

There is a reason why they make so many of their character around 13-15. Mainly because of their age of consent laws; http://www.avert.org/age-of-consent.htm which is between 13-18 depending on the circumstances and the prefecture.

So, really those kinds of characters/pictures are perfectly standard! Just not by some western values.

The show plays everything for bizareness by giving people a world where nothing makes sense.

How exactly do those things make it any less gross? "It's supposed to be weird so it's okay!" seems to be the gist of it, and I have no idea why that would be a legitimate argument as it doesn't change anything about it; it's a 9-year-old with a cup E or something wearing a small bikini.
