LilithSlave: She has a bubbly personality, but not any more so than, say, Felicia. And why would a sexually active succubus(or heavily implied, at least) have "the mind of a little girl"? Because if anything, that's gross. They shouldn't be having a succubus, who acts more flirtatious than Morrigan as being stated as anything like having the "mind of a child". If she really is stated to be like this anywhere, can we retcon this please and make it less like this? Because a character stated to have the mind of a child should not act this sexually suggestive in a mainstream video game. Make her "piece of Morrigan soul" angle less important and give her own story. With lots of new characterization and development. Heck, I'd love to play a whole game about her. I've been dying for a lot of cool characterization about her since they introduced her but never got any.
If you've played the games then you know her attacks and animations are goofy and childlike (she even has a Dan fireball). Her voice is too but I guess that doesn't mean much in a Japanese game (Felicia). The wiki says "The body she received from Jedah was the image that Lilith wanted to be, obviously an imitation of Morrigan" and that it possibly reflects her personality. But here's a win quote:
"I can't stand this! I want my real body!"
It implies that she isn't satisfied with the body she has, and wants to grow up or wants to look like Morrigan, which is childish. And then there's the innuendo...
"I've never experienced this before but... it feels great!"

When it comes down to it, plenty of female characters in Japanese entertainment look way younger than they perhaps should. The pretend age, or any backstory that they might cook up for a character like that just doesn't matter when we're talking about sex appeal.
If you're saying she doesn't look like a kid to you, then wouldn't that settle it? I think at worst, I might question your sense of aesthetics.
Vereth: "I can't stand this! I want my real body!"
It implies that she isn't satisfied with the body she has, and wants to grow up or wants to look like Morrigan, which is childish.
I never liked that characterization of her. Because it makes Morrigan more important than her.
But I don't think that reflects her desire to "grow" up, but just to fuse back with Morrigan. She comes off as self hating, when I think she's a worthy character in her own right.;_;
Also, come on, saying you're experiencing something new is not something that makes you a child or even child-like.

I have a sudden desire for Little Caesars pizza pizza....
How about I toss in an almighty who the feth cares.
You like something, well done, so do many other people.
We all have things we like.
What I like and what I am is what you seem to dislike in men so we're probably never going to get along or agree on anything though.
But I digress.
What is this fascination on this site to justify things people like?
Who cares if you like an animated succubus? Who cares what people call someone who likes an animated succubus?
Is it going to change your opinion on things you like because folks on ye olde intraweb disagree with something you find .. er .. "stimulating"?
I'd wager, with this being such a diverse forum, that most people here have a fetish or attraction to something that Joe down the road might think is a bit strange.
Me, I have a bit of a "denim fetish". I like women in tight jeans, especially the arse. No idea why I just do. I also like it "rough" (nothing wrong with being handcuffed to a bed ... unless the lass fucks off for a pint and leaves you there, it happened once, I had to break her bed ... ahh fun times).
See, we all like something. Just seems a lot of us really couldn't give 2 fucks what other people think about it.
I just see a lot of "I like this, what do you think" kind of threads and just keep asking myself why. Why the need to ask?
So instead of asking myself because, to be honest, myself is fucking clueless. I thought i'd ask the people.
Why do some folks want to justify or explain why they like something as if our opinion actually matters to them?
I mean, what? My inferior intelligence is showing. I really have no idea what the hell is going on in here.
...Uhm, so anyway. Yeah. Lolis and all. I just googled Lilith (whoever the fuck that is) and looked at a picture.
She looks like a small girl to me man. Sorry to say it, but she does. 13 tops. Of course this might be because japanese artists like to make ALL women look like they are 13, but whatever.
Someone said a wiki says shes 6"3. Yeah, she still looks young as fuck. I mean, if I draw a picture of a baby getting raped and say the baby is 18 years old... You get the idea.
So I dunno man. Whatever. Who fucking cares? I know I dont. Just jack off to or watch whatever floats your boat, its all good in my book, as long as no one is getting hurt.

I have a sudden desire for Little Caesars pizza pizza....
Loop Stricken: If you don't like blonde bimbos with bra-busting bazooka blitzkrieg breasts then you're clearly a paedophile. Where have you been?!
I like that post, it's fun.
I don't think I'm a paedophile. And if I thought I was, I'd want to see help immediately. I also don't think I consider myself a lolicon. I am not attracted to children at all, fiction or real. A lot of lolicons say things like "I'm not attracted to real children, just fictional ones." But I'm not attracted to fictional kids, either. It's gross to me, I like maturity. Then again, I guess there are some "lolicons" who "aren't into fictional kids either", I have no idea what the term "lolicon" means anymore because everyone seems to mean something different when they say it. I don't think I am one, though, because I like maturity. Seriously, the idea of violating someone immature is absolutely disgusting. I like someone of my physical and mental level. Not a little girl or someone who seems heavily like one.
But I also like androgyny. It may seem shallow, but I think that's something that drew me in about Lilith. She doesn't have large boobs and I don't like large boobs. I like masculine women who are tall, muscular, and often flat chested(obviously not a must, I like fat women. And men too. Who obviously tend to have breasts. But I'm not into curvaceousness). But that's not the same as being a lolicon.
Not too many adult video game women are very androgynous. So I think part of my psyche latched onto the character because of that.
Lilith isn't a loli. Instead, people consider her one because of the other Darkstalkers characters that she gets compared to. It'd be like comparing someone's girlfriend who happens to have smaller breasts and/or look a bit younger to a bunch of Playboy models. By that comparison the girl will look like a loli, but as soon as you start comparing her to actual lolis or even just to random women then she'll seem normal or even hypersexualized.
Also despite what some people are saying, you aren't a hypocrite. Believe it or not, it is possible to enjoy something while still thinking the process as a whole is overdone. To use an example similar to your own that is present in my life: I think that the first person shooter is overdone and is taking our industry in a bad direction, yet I really enjoy playing the Halo games. Does me liking a single FPS make my thoughts on the oversaturation of FPS games suddenly moot? Of course not.
LilithSlave: But I've been a big fan of Lilith Aensland ever since she was first introduced.
TO be honest, I have no clue as to who this fictional character is. However, I'd me more than happy to learn and then answer your question. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd be most appreciative.
evilneko: Doesn't look very loli does she? In-'verse she's 12. Which IMO, is loli. [/spoiler]
Wait, WHAT? Canaan is TWELVE? I saw a couple of episodes of that and didn't finish it. God knows why because it looked awesome and starred a strong female character for once. In an action show, no less. Something we haven't been getting a whole lot of in anime since Ghost in the Shell.
She doesn't look like a kid at all. She looks like a very badass adult woman. Sure, she has big eyes, but that's most anime characters. That's not cool. How did someone wind up looking like that at twelve? And where's it stated?
I didn't think I'd need to. Are Escapist users so wrapped up in wRPGs and PC gaming that they haven't heard of important fighting titles like Darkstalkers? This website makes me sad.
(Also, does that chick in your avatar have cum on her face?)
Yes.

Pretty sure it's mentioned in like the first episode.
Would love to see a gunfight with Canaan vs. Kirika. That would be awesome.
godofallu: I don't know what who Lilith is, and I don't know what a loli is.
You and others saying this, you haven't been into video games very long, have you? Also, I hope you consider yourself a "hardcore gamer" with a gaming education like that.
It's no Street Fighter or Tekken. But Darkstalkers is a pretty major fighting game franchise.

Wait what where?
How did I miss this? I don't remember seeing that. Somebody screenshot me.
Daystar Clarion: If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck...
I love that saying.
You can try to legitimise it as much as you want, 'dude, she's not really a little girl, she's 500 years old!'.
Yeah, that doesn't really cut it :D
Well, it is still incorrect terminology. Lolicon would concern young children. Lilith looks like a 15 year old to me. Also, being attracted to a drawing is a lot different than being attracted to an actual person. http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Rise_Kujikawa She is 15. Being attracted to Rise is far different than being attracted to an actual 15 year old.
I never liked that characterization of her. Because it makes Morrigan more important than her.
But I don't think that reflects her desire to "grow" up, but just to fuse back with Morrigan. She comes off as self hating, when I think she's a worthy character in her own right.;_;
The "I can't stand this!" just makes it seem like she's not satisfied with how she looks. But you can interpret that however you want I guess.
LilithSlave: Also, come on, saying you're experiencing something new is not something that makes you a child or even child-like.
Virginity innuendo coming from a young looking girl is a little suspicious.
How did I miss this? I don't remember seeing that. Somebody screenshot me.
I did a quick Google with little solid results. In this conversation the OP is saying that Canaan is actually 20 years old. He's arguing that Canaan was 18 years old during the Shibuya incident, and the story is set two years after that.
I hope she is an adult. Because when I first saw her, I have to say I thought, "my God, that's one sexy, badass woman". Being badass and independent makes women sexy, in my book.
Also, some of you may be looking at the moefied fanart. I started to like Lilith because of her in-game sprites, not fanart. I liked Lilith before I was big into the internet anyway, so I didn't even see a lot of Lilith fanart.
This is Lilith's sprite.
And this is Morrigan's sprite.
If you'll notice, they have the exact same eyes, face, and legs. The only difference is actually hair colour, boobs, and hair length.
I'm probably pretty shallow. As I'd probably have wound up liking Morrigan's sprite if she didn't have those boobs or that long hair. And in turn like her actual character just as much. Though there are some things I already don't like about Morrigan's personality. She seems so fixated on her own beauty and that's a turn off. It's like Morrigan has too much self esteem in how she looks, and Lilith has too little.
I have some things I dislike about both of their characterization. But I'd at least like Morrigan's sprite just as much without the long hair+boobs combo. Back when I was first playing the games, and Lilith was first introduced, I have to admit, I was pretty happy to be playing as a character that wasn't as curvy as Morrigan.
JCBFGD: There is no inequality between men and women in society,
Factually incorrect. Wages alone are significantly lower even if the same work is done, and there is a massive disparity in health care, for example. Men get paid viagra, a luxury, whereas women can be denied the pill, even in cases where it is a medical necessity, for example to prevent cancer.
Factually incorrect. The following is from swifteconomics.com, but a fairly basic grasp of economic theory would have led you to the same conclusion.

Also, there is not a 'massive disparity in health care', whatever that means. I am assuming you are from the USA, so this is written from a US perspective (I am English). Given that Americans pay money for their health care, there is clearly not going to be a difference in price for the same ailments, as under current gender discrimination laws this would be an easy target for litigation. Illnesses or conditions that are specific to women are not usable for the purposes of your argument, for obvious reasons. I will concede that the necessity/luxury is biased towards a male perspective, but I am sure that it will be resolved soon. I apologise for the long reply, but this sort of statement irritates me, especially when the person making it has the temerity to imply that they are factually correct without quoting statistics or reasoning.
I must've missed the part where being attracted to pre-pubescent people isn't paedophilia and being attracted to pubescent people isn't ephebophilia. Did that change at some point?
I've seen pre-pubescent often as younger that 11-13, while the ephebophile area is 14-17. Plus it isn't so clear cut with fictional characters in an anime style, especially if extraordinary circumstances are involved, like in the case here with Lilith being a succubus.
I mean, look herePHA+PGltZyBzcmM9Imh0dHA6Ly9tZWRpYS5hbmltZXZpY2UuY29tL3VwbG9hZHMvMC82OS8xMDEwODktdmxjc25hcF8wMDA1NF9zdXBlci5wbmciIGFsdD0iaW1hZ2UiLz48L3A+
That girl is, in canon, 9 years old. Not a typo and not joking. She hasn't even made double digits. She is also however an Angel.
See how gray it all is?
Gray in terms of dictionary definitions, a clear cut case of paedophilia legally. Also, that's pretty freaking disgusting.
Forgive me if I don't see how it's disgusting, as no studio would make a show where a character is 9 and looks to be at least 20, especially in comparison to all the 14 year olds around her, and play it straight. The show plays everything for bizareness by giving people a world where nothing makes sense.
While I'd argue it is a bit more gray than you're letting on, let me give you another example.
Look at this anime girlPHA+PGltZyBzcmM9Imh0dHA6Ly9pbWcxNDAuaW1hZ2VzaGFjay51cy9pbWcxNDAvNDI4MS8yMTZlNDEyYjU4OTdhMzYxMDg2Njc0My5qcGciIGFsdD0iaW1hZ2UiLz48L3A+
Now, I'm afraid the picture isn't fantastic to illustrate my point, none of them are quite that good on the net, but look at her. How old would you place her? Her body is that of a 14 year old (Again, the picture doesn't illustrate this well. Hard to get a picture of just her) but really, she is way older than that on account to essentially her body stopped ageing when she became immortal, so she is implied to be about 100 years old at least. So is it 'Paedo-ish' to find her attractive, even though legally, she is 100 years at least?
The network in Japan found it to be legally okay, and broadcast it, rather nervously (Lolicon isn't smiled upon in Japan, but this instance was ruled not loli). Despite her frame, it was okay.
It's gray, no right or wrong answer.
Conversation is starting to turn serious. No place for Calumon.

My WTF-O-meter is reaching critical levels here.
Allow me, good sir, to see if I can make that meter explode, shall I?
There is a reason why they make so many of their character around 13-15. Mainly because of their age of consent laws; http://www.avert.org/age-of-consent.htm which is between 13-18 depending on the circumstances and the prefecture.
So, really those kinds of characters/pictures are perfectly standard! Just not by some western values.
Yeah I don't know. Maybe I've been looking at the wrong images, but if she's this:
Then yeah, she looks pretty damn underage. She's on par with my 13-year-old sister, and that creeps me the fuck out, especially if she's supposed to be a succubus. And it's not just the flat chest, it's especially the face. It just looks so very young.
LilithSlave: Fighting games and Darkstalers included have a problem of making female characters for sexual gratification, while not male characters.
Actually, they do. Overly-ripped macho men are the same deal as those voluptuous bimbo's; in both cases the character's secondary sexual characteristics are taken to ridiculous extremes.
Jack and Calumon: Forgive me if I don't see how it's disgusting, as no studio would make a show where a character is 9 and looks to be at least 20, especially in comparison to all the 14 year olds around her, and play it straight. How exactly do those things make it any less gross? "It's supposed to be weird so it's okay!" seems to be the gist of it, and I have no idea why that would be a legitimate argument as it doesn't change anything about it; it's a 9-year-old with a cup E or something wearing a small bikini. Weird anime or not, that's what it is.
I guess.
She is hot though.
Also i main her.
