Better breast physics in DOA5(dead or alive 5)

According to this news article all the women's breast will have realistic boob giggles depending on what clothes they wear.

"Girl-specific bounce is nothing new. But Dead or Alive 5 takes the bounce to new heights with costume-specific bounce.

In an interview with Famitsu Xbox 360, a partial transcript of which was posted today to Famitsu.com, director Yohei Niibori revealed that the game's breast movement will vary not just by character, but by costume as well.

The clothing transparency level will also vary by outfit."

We've thus far seen all new costume designs. However, the game will also have arranged versions of past costumes, producer Yosuke Hayashi said.

Hayashi also spoke about the game's collaboration with Virtua Fighter. After the arcade release of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown in July 2010, he visited Sega with a design doc and some demo footage. The collaboration was in place from the early phases of the DOA5 project. Team Ninja is working with the Virtua Fighter development staff on such things as modeling, motion and gameplay."

and it looks like team ninja is learning a few new tricks for DOA5 from Virtua Fighter 5. How awesome is that.

The worst thing about jiggle physics is that it never took the clothing into account. The clothing seemed to have been a part of the boobs, which looked way more weird than anything. I think this is a step in the right direction.

Some day the generations of the future will look back upon us and witness our power to realistically portray breasts. "Clearly, they were as gods!" they shall say.

Oh, boo-hoo. Women don't like seeing their gender objectified in a sexual manner. I was at the bookstore today and saw that the romance section was encroaching on my beloved sci-fi. What did I see? Man tits, faceless man-tits and women in the arms of man-tits (don't think about that one too hard).

Meanwhile, you've got 90% of the sci-fi section with badasses looking straight the fuck at you. They're not some pansy ass caricatures of humans that you can imprint upon. They can kick your ass several times over and are there to tell a story, not get you off with some emotional, touchy-feely, half-assed shitstorm of romantic BS.

It only pushes away bitchy feminists, and that makes me fucking glad. Men are always muscly tall masses of charisma with magically perfect hair. You rarely see some average skinny or chubby person with any significance to the story. Same think with women, and that's the way I'd like it to stay. Vidya is to make us live out our fantasies, not experience more of our boring lives.

As it stands, I don't approve of this. Breast jiggle physics as a selling point is, has and will always be stupid, juvenile and sexist. Plus I really don't understand why it's apparently so important that they needed to put more emphasis on it and talk about how they have revolutionized the engine for them to make each jiggle unique to each character and just errrrggggghhh...

Maybe it's because it's still so soon after the Cross Assault debacle, but I don't see this going well and frankly I think it's a stupid thing that shouldn't be defended.

Ah yes the 'men get sexualized too' argument. Tell you what, you name me a single triple A game where a main selling point is being able to use the sixaxis to jiggle the male protagonist's ballsack around and that the 'mooseknuckle physics' are apparently so important and intergal to everything else that they decided to give it an updated engine and made a big press release about it, then I'll agree completely that it's totally equal and any woman who objects is just a 'bitchy feminist'.

However the fact is, the naive idea that this somehow isn't a problem can only exist if it becomes normal and indeed commonplace for video game press releases to read as:

To be fair this series has to date (not throwing this iteration under the bus yet) not been especially well received by the fighting game community as it bares too many similarities to rock-paper-scissors in its gameplay. Sure jiggle physics doesn't help the cause as far as perception goes but if the game actually played better it would matter less.

I wonder what else is new besides better jiggle physics, I don't like admitting it but DOA has always been a guilty pleasure of mine.
It's not all about the boobs though, I'm not a fan of the whole Xtreme Beach Volleyball thing.
To be fair the games are fun and the fighting mechanics are decent, but if it weren't for the ridiculously proportioned women I would stick to Street Fighter or Tekken.

I'll be happy to throw this game over my shoulder and into the raging fire of crappy titles, especially because this one has a team of people dedicated to 'jiggle mechanics.' Are 12-13 year old children running Team Ninja?

Well boob physics dont make or break a game for me what is interesting is the crossover of virtua fighter characters I cant see sega letting them include these characters if there is nothing to the game other than boob physics. I am hoping that its going to be a cross between virtua fighter and DOA i.e easy to play but a bit more depth than we are used to just not ridiculously hardcore like virtua fighter.

Also I am surprised the news that DOA is going to have boob physics is still considered news and gets so much response I would have thought DOA having no boob physics would be much more of a shock. Like it or not its pretty much a part of DOA but thankfully the games tend to be quite fun as well, in fact DOA 2 was fantastic and a massive step up from 1 its just a shame 3 and 4 were basically the same. Thats why I am optimistic about 5 its had a good break and can hopefully come back with some new ideas.

Better breast physics? Just how much better do they have to be? Will the game factor in the physics involved in a mistimed kick only managing to clip a female character in her right tit or something? :P

True and Odd Choice is easily overseen if the rest is well done. There have been sillier things in fighters.. like clay fighting games.. yes clay.. seriously! Celebrity Deathmatch [ouch] so breast physics. Eh!

I don't think I have an opinion on this one way or the other. They figured out their jiggle technology? Good for them. If the game plays well enough to justify sharing play time with BlazBlue and Persona, I might pick it up. I haven't played 3D fighters in forever. Hitomi better be a beast.

Hey that's not fair . Sure they aren't the same ...yet . But they sure as hell are trying . You'll be thankful once virtual reality videogames become the norm and these guys here have perfected breast physics. And virtual brests become better than real life bouncy boobies .I will happen , i have seen the future.
