Simple question really, what one single game would have you shell out the amount of a new console for?
It can be either a make believe game (but realistic ideals people), for instance a game that was perfectly made for you, or related to a game/ franchise already in exhistance (maybe that dream Star Wars, or perfect Sonic The Hedgehog game you've always wanted).
Or maybe it would be the console itself (again, something believable)?
For me, I was thinking that if a portable version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI ended up on the PS Vita, I'd buy the console in a heartbeat. When I play that on my PC, I'm glued to the thing all day.
A version that I could take with me to work, to the cafe, or abroad, would be perfect for me. I'd easily get my monies worth with the amount of time I'd spend playing on it.
If they were to annoucne a new .Hack game for a console other than the Playstation I would go buy that thing in a second. It wouldn't matter if I had to sell a kidney or join of mafia, I would make it happen.
Well sequels to all my favorite series which includes but not limited to.
Wild arms 6
Legend of legaia 3
Legend of dragoon 2
Lost odessey 2
Unless one of these come out on a next gen console , i won't likely buy one until they come out . Fat chances of that since most if not all of those series died quite a while ago .
A new (good) star fox game or a new (new) animal crossing game.
Half-Life 3 on the Steam Box.
Fear Effect 3. It's cancellation quite far into development was the reason I never bothered to go from the PS1 to the PS2, which it was scheduled to appear on. In the unlikely event that the series was revived I'd buy whatever console I needed to play it.
When a new console releases, I generally don't give a flying eff about sequels.
New software moves a console for me. Hence why I still don't own a PS Vita.
maybe kingdom hearts 3
If The Witcher 3 was released exclusively on a console, I guess that would lead me to purchasing a console for it. Beyond that, I really can't think of anything.
i bought a 360 over a ps3 purely because the 360 came with halo 3 and halo 3 was a 360 exclusive and went on to spend the best part of 3 years playing it and went on to play it competitively and develop a love for playing FPS games competitively
I'd buy a console for a new Legacy of Kain, or one last Spyro game developed by Insomniac.
(this HAS to be on a console) a pokemon game done RIGHT. none of that coliseum bullshit. I want my 3D adventure!
last but not least, ff7 HD rerelease
No game would make me spend that much money.
Hell, Skyrim was my most anticipated game of all time and even for that I wasn't going to put down €150 for some dragon figurine and an artbook.
Disgaea 5. Funnily enough, the reason I bought a PS3 was so I could play Disgaea 3.
Well, if I had the money, I'd buy a PSP for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. I've missed out on what's supposed to be a few rather large pieces of the overarching story because Squeenix decided to spread it to as many consoles as humanly possible. Birth by Sleep happens to be the only one I really care about playing. Well, that and KH3, but that seems to be Squeenix's HL3, so I've stopped looking forward to it. Not that I could afford a PS3(or 4) to play it on, but if I could, I'd buy one in a heartbeat for KH3.
I will buy a Wii for Resident Evil Remake and 0, also for the Zelda series..and ONLY for those games alone.
By my own rules, nothing. I require at least three games before I commit to a new console.
Though if a man is allowed to dream...
A real, expansive Shadowrun video game.
Not that dross that they tried to pass as Shadowrun on the 360.
Well these days I won't do it for just any new Final Fantasy anymore, but I would absolutely buy a new system if need be to play the upcoming Versus XIII, and I will play whatever the almost-inevitable FFVII remake comes out on.
Timesplitters, it the only game with such power though, Battlefront 3 does come close.
Getting a 3DS whenever Paper Mario comes around. I know it's no Half Life 3 but all three so far are damn good games.
A few years ago, I would have said Kingdom Hearts 3, but with the way square has been treating the franchise, I don't care about the games anymore.
Games that I would buy a new console for are:
Way of the Samurai 5 ( for people that are on the fence, get 4 when it is released in English, it is fucking amazing )
And these would be them, out of these games, the one most likely to be made would be WotS5 and MGS5, sadly enough...
A new sequel/spiritual successor to Dark Souls :) either that, or Timesplitters 4
Also, I actually did buy a DS just to play pokemon.
Persona 4: The Golden is the sole reason for me planning to get a Vita, playing an enhanced version of that game wherever I want in my house would be pretty much perfect for me. I'm sure I'll get more games afterwards, but P4 sold me on the console, maybe the Vita will be cheaper by the time it comes out too
As for a pretend game, if a new console featured a 3D pokemon game that allowed for some really crazy stuff, such as using all the continents, surfing windwaker style or flying Skyward sword style I would probably get new console for it
Half Life 3
Homeworld 3 (I know it's not a console game, but it's the only other game that would instantly make me go "ooga booga" enough to buy new hardware)
Star Wars Kinect
Oh yes someone is going to join an empire.. now where are my dance shoes?
What... oh don't tell me there are allot of people hurt by a game.
But xbox also has a few "odd" choices. I mean Deadly Premonitions [wtf?]
Timesplitters 4 or Psychonauts 2.
Hell, even if Timesplitters 4 was released on PC (my primary gaming platform, especially for shooters) I would still buy a console just for it, because the only proper way to play Timesplitters is splitscreen.
I did it already. Bought a PSP solely because the re-made Tactics Ogre was on it. TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Well, if Nintendo released the dream Smash Bros. I'd be all over whatever console it was on.
Xenoblade Saga/Last Story/Skyward Sword/Pandora's Tower... Actually, a lot of games made me buy a wii today.
one that teaches people grammar.
No game would make me spend that much money.
I just don't have the money lying around to drop hundreds of dollars on a luxury item that expensive, especially when it will become a fraction of the price if I'm patient.
Well, I bought a PS3 when it was first release because MGS4 and Final Fantasy XIII was coming out on it.
That said, which ever has the most of these (or equivalents):
Mass Effect 4
Dragon Age 4
Final Fantasy XV
Assassin's Creed 4
And since most of these are cross-platform, I'll probably just fall onto the PS4 because Killzone is on there, and I've just preferred Sony in general. Of course, cost is a large factor...
None, unless it lets me jack into matrix with haxx.
I can't think of a single game I would ever purchase a console for. I am quite content with my PC. If that game doesn't come out on PC then it is not worth my time.
