Bad Games You Still Want To Play Pages PREV 1 2 3 NEXT
Alpha Protocol. But then I remember the horrible dialogue system, the first boss fight if you're using a stealth build and the shocking amount of bugs and I lose all desire to reinstall it.
Telltales's Jurassic Park. From what I've heard it's scarcely more interactive than a DVD menu and not a very good one at that. Darn it though I just really like Jurassic Park(plus I already have a copy of Trespasser so it will by no means be the worst Jurassic Park game I own).
Daikatana - it's the legendary bad FPS. It looks unplayable, and from what everyone says (including in this very forum) it almost is unplayable, but it's still something I'd like to experience for myself, I thnk. Also, John Romero still believes it's a good game.

I buy any supposedly bad game that's cheap enough on Steam. Might as well see for myself.
I actually really want to try superman 64. Just to say that I have. It's unlikely I'll ever get a chance though.
Despite it's rather crap controls...I...liked...Shadow the Hedgehog (Raises flame shield)
Postal 3. Had to dive into the foreign land of .cfg-files to get the damn thing to not chug like a car with a faulty clutch. But when I finally got it to work... Well I can't say it was time well spent. Bugs everywhere, the AI is complete crap and the combat is, to put it gently, unfinished. Still, it's an interesting example of a developer going out of its way to make a truly broken game and believe me, it's close. But a game that for once does not take itself very seriously is refreshing, or something...
Quick question: has anybody here played Haze? Because since my initial post I've been actively looking for a copy that's in good condition and cheap ($5 is my limit).
What mirrors Edge is Awesome.
Does it count if it's not because of reviews but because of the community getting stirred into a tizzy over them and their publisher? Because I've really been wanting to give Bioware's RPGs(Namely Dragon Age Origins and II, and the Mass Effect games) a shot, I admit I love the concept of taking a character and basically acting in the game as I get to know my teammates and everyone's story. I loved that aspect of the Persona games and Bioware seems to have that going on in their games as well. I've also seen gameplay and it looks like it would be fun as well. I don't see much of a reason to not give it a shot. But then you have all this stuff going down with DLC, EA's practices, that whole ME3 ending debacle... I swear the way some people talk I feel like I should be ashamed for wanting to play them... Yet I still want to play them.
Yeah, it's really not a bad game. It's biggest crime was being "average" when everyone expected "stupendous". I mean, rightfully so, because there was so much hype and build up both by Gearbox and by the game's own legacy. Still, it's not worth the 1-4's it usually gets in reviews. If you find it for $10-$20, it's worth that at least.
For some painfully mysterious reasons, I enjoyed it way more than Gears of War 1 and 2. I want to play Lair and Postal III.
ninety nine nights, yeah i know it's terrible, but i still love playing it
I've played it. It's... generic. That's pretty much all I can say. As for my games of choice, I'd go with Spark Unlimited's games. Legendary and Turning Point, based mostly on some really cool premises.
Free Radical made Haze?! But they made Time Splitters and Second Sight! I never thought to look into who made Haze because of all the bad press it got; hard to believe it was one of my favourite devs... wow. OT: A few weeks ago I was really in the mood to grab and play a cheap JRPG and saw Infinite Undiscovery for like £7. I heard it's terrible but I still regret not picking it up. I still will, probably.
I'll play Duke Nukem Forever eventually. I'm just waiting for the price to drop enough. Sure, I saw it on sale for $2.50 at one point... but I think if I'm patient I can do better.
This. The weird thing is, Postal 2 was no where near as shoddy. In fact, on some level, somewhere.. I liked that game.
I found "Too Human" on a garbage can(no, I'm not kidding) and decided to try it out. I actually liked it, except when you're in valhalla, which is excruciatingly boring. Also, there's this semi-obscure game called "Deadly Premonition" I'd really like to buy and try out but it's got some really bad reviews, and I can never get around to buying it.
It's also got really good reviews. I saw some clips, it looks bizarre. There's one scene involving the main character eating a dog food sandwich (or something like that) and enjoying it
Wow. Apparently, Too Human is so bad that someone actually left it with the garbage. =P
Oddly enough, Star Fox: Adventures is one I've been wanting to play again. I don't know why, as it was a crappy Star Fox game, but my memory says it was a fun Action/Adventure with Star Fox in it. However, Tricky...freaking Tricky...
The game is frustratingly trial-and-error at points, but (on PC at least) it is actually very well designed in how the controls function, and it is fairly interesting. Of course, I did need to turn down the bloom and brightness and everything to just under half of their original settings, but still... I've had a lot of fun with it, truth be told. OT: It depends on our definition of "bad". Are we saying "bad" as in "The community hates and vilifies anything remotely related to the game because it was so hyped up and received perfect reviews but was merely mediocre" or "bad" as in "This game is so terrible it will try to eat your computer and then murder your family, all while flipping you off." Because if it's the first, then Dragon Age 2, which I've never gotten around to finishing yet (but to be fair, I only just finished DA:O the other day). Otherwise... I'm not that sure. I've played games a lot of people seem to consider "bad" and had a lot of fun with them (for instance, the only Sonic game I've ever not enjoyed was '06).
For me it is Alpha Protocol I wanted to buy it day one, but I could not afford it so I decided to rent it. I actually enjoyed it and now that is is under $10 I keep thinking about buying it.
Alpha Protocol is an awesome game. Buggy, but awesome. It's still got the best conversation system I've seen in any game, ever.
I'd like to try Too Human, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for the Xbox because I'm a huge Fallout fanatic, and Red Steel.
Even after struggling with the controls and giving up on the damn pinball and pool minigames, I still want to play Duke Nukem Forever a third time. I already did it on Normal difficulty and Hard difficulty with Gunslinger achieved. I think I'll sooner or later go on an Expert run.
I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog and Mirror's Edge. As for a shit game for twats I want to play, Ethnic Cleansing, just for how hilariously racist it is. For those unaware, it was created by neo-nazis to enforce white supremacy. You get to play as either a skinhead or a Klansman, and you shoot black people that make monkey noises and Hispanics that make strange "E-o" sounds. The videos I've seen of this make it look incredibly bad.
Once you get past how it's nothing like the other Banjo Kazooies I think it's actually a pretty good game, I had tons of fun making all sorts of crazy vehicles, you should rent it if you're curious, I still play it every now and then OT: Naughty Bear, as far as I know, it's the only game that lets you go Jason Voorhees on people, and the people are teddy bears! That makes the murder fun and happy time yay! Shame that it was apparently pretty bad
Deadly Premonition | |
I think I want to play Tiberium Twilight, to see if it was a "Lets see if we can do something completely different with the genre" attempt, or trying to jump on a bandwagon that crashed before it became mainstream.
I`ve really rented Rogue Warrior yesterday. This is one bad playable Steven Seagull movie. The only thing being good are the kill animations (there are quite a few). Some of the spoken lines imply that the hero is really into goats. I`ve never heard the word "goatfuck" this often. The whole dialogue is hillarious bad. The rest is so bad it`s not even good. It`s a mistery how this could pass Bethesdas quality ensurance...uhm, forget the last sentence, nevermind. I get the creeping feeling they publish this stuff to make their own developed stuff look godly. Next game is 50cent:blood on the sand
I actually hear Blood on the Sand is a really good game.
Yeah, it looks like fun, i`ll post my impressions after i tried it.
I heard so many just plain bad things about X-Men: Destiny... but I've been reeeeally dying to play it lately. I've always wanted to join the X-Men and be my own mutant with my own mutant powers. I know there's not that much choice in the game, but it does give you some choice. All the combat and missions looks repetitive as all hell, but as a player of most of the Dynasty Warriors games, I really have no reason to complain. Plus, the character with the most cliched X-Men backstory, Adrian Luca, just appeals to me in the best way. He was raised to hate mutants by his Purifier father, and aww shucks, now he finds out that he's the very thing he grew up hating. Oh irony of ironies... I know it's all stupid as shit... but I just love it. It's mary sue at its finest.

I'm wanting to try the Godfather 2. I don't know what I'm waiting for, I've had it unopened for over a year now.
