So, Lucasarts drove Battlefront 3 into the ground, but they endorsed this:

I know it's old news, but is anyone else wondering what the hell is going on at Lucasarts?
Well I suppose it's about what would produce more revenue, but it's a seriously sad state of affairs when a collection on Star Wars mini-games gets developed and published over Battlefront 3.

Wait..is this a thing? Star Wars dancing? Is this a real game?

This is news to me, but if they want money, serious money, then they would focus on making a great Battlefront 3. Who is going to buy "Han Solo Dancing"? Wait..don't answer that.

Put this dev team in charge of TOR! Now!

People who hate the Star Wars dancing need to get over themselves.
It's fuckin' Star Wars, guys. It's not supposed to be all serious and stuff.

You sir have made my week!
Sure enough I would love to have a Star Wars: Battlefront 3 but seeing Boba Fett dance to an Empire recruitment version of the YMCA will do just fine. It's all harmless fun and will blow over soon enough aslong as you ignore it.

Now if you don't mind...I've got some lyrics to memorize.

It's probably fun with some friends after a few too many drinks, but how many people that buy this game are going to play it a couple of times, and then shelve it, and forget about it. No one is going to get stuck into this like they would Battlefront 3, maybe that's not the point but it seems an awful waste for all that development to go into something that is essentially shelf-ware. I guess I'm just bitter because I was looking forward to SW:BF3 so much :(

I am failing to see what the problem is here. They decided to create something awesome over something not awesome.

I love Han Solo. I love dancing. No problems here.

i hate to admit it but it is a nice change of pace.

If I was a Star Wars fan I'd be more concerned with some of the 'serious' projects that LucasArts sign off on, like The Force Unleashed 2, or anything and everything he does to the original trilogy.

No doubt Kinect Star Wars is soon to be forgotten shovelware, but it's hilarously camp shovelware, so it's worth it... unless it's really a secret plan by Lucas to ensure that the Holiday Special is only the second most ridiculous thing to carry the Star Wars name.

They spend money on this shit instead of actual games people want.

They are just committing financial suicide

Kinect Star Wars singing/dancing is so awful it's awesome. It's like Ed Wood, or Nicholas Cage.

Who wouldn't want to dance with Lando?

Tbh, I always thought his mo made him ideal for porn.

Say what you want about it, but the entire concept of DJ Lobot just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

That was the gayest thing I ever saw.
THE
GAYEST
THING
Whoever came up with this should burn in hell
I'm not even kidding

What...

I guess that's one way to milk a franchise into a withered husk.

I wish more people had that attitude about this and a lot of other things.

I don't understand the ire over the Star Wars dancing thing.

Come on, it's funny.

I jus got a Kinect, and Kinect Star Wars looks pretty cool..

Once again proving LucasArts is run by a bunch of lunatics.

Screw Battlefront, this thing looks fantastic! I mean sure, it'd be nice to have a good SW game once in a while, but this looks like something you'd have fun with, as opposed to yelling at your screen.

Who can seriously say this doesn't put a smile on their face?

I thought Kinect Star Wars wasn't awful. It's a neat little party game for the Star Wars fans. The different modes are so bad in some ways that it's just so fun. Also, remember that Lucasarts was only ONE of 10 different developers on this project

See: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/116634-Ten-Different-Teams-Worked-on-Kinect-Star-Wars

But yeah, do want Battlefront 3 too.

I think it's fucking retarded, and a clear indication of where Lucasarts wants to take the brand. But then again, for every good SW game there have always been several crap ones, so all is as it was.

exactly, the game hasn't done anything to the star wars brand the creator hasn't done long ago.

plus who actually owns kinects? casuals that's who, it's like me complaining about a star wars facebook game.

Damn it's going to be stuck in my head all day now. I'm han solo...

EDIT: Oh I wish I had seen this video before I had danced to this song a couple years ago:

those stormtroopers have MOVES!

At first? Ire.

After a few seconds of simmering? It's amazing and I don't know why I was upset.

It's just campy fun. I'm annoyed that BF3 hasn't seen the light of day yet, but whatever, I've got plenty of time left on the earth and if this makes some people's day, then so be it.

Thats what I thought initially, but then I imagined a LOTR games where Aragorn and Gandalf get down on the dancefloor in Rivendell. *Shudder*

Fuckin' A, man. Bring it. Back up hobbit dancers or whatever. Let's do this shit, you and me.

Battlefront wasnt awesome?

For shame... :O

I agree. After all, nobody seemed to mind when Robot Chicken did it:

Having said that, I would definitely like to see a Battlefront 3, provided they improve bot pathing and AI. Trying to play single player in Battlefront 2 often turns into an exercise in frustration, particularly when fighting for the Republic. I swear those clone troopers have a death wish, what with them charging head-on into droideka fire all the time.

So now Solo isn't badass enough to shoot first, now he is put through this?

Can't Harrison Ford claim damage to his image?

It's not just about revenue, it's about the ratio of revenue gained per dollar spent on development. IE. the more money they can make on less work, the happier they are.

Jesus Christ. That game looks silly and ridiculous. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm not going to play it. I'm also not going to bitch and moan as if I've been personally wronged, because that would be even more silly and ridiculous.

I dont know...I would actually rather this hilarity over another boring badly done generic title

The more I watch it the more I like it....cant stop laughing xD

I think people need to read this. What was mad was really bad and that was the problem.

And i will start by saying "The bullshit is strong with this one".

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/27/this-is-what-happened-to-star-wars-battlefront-3/

Essentially everything in there is false.

The game was never canned after being completed, the game was never even near completion. I was working for the QA company that was testing the game and it was a fucking disaster. Nothing worked. LucasArts didn't can a completed game and a sequel to their most successful franchise up to that point, they took the project away from a vastly incompetent developer who had near the end of the project reduced the game to 3 class, and 5 or 6 maps with a 2 hour long campaign and was still mostly unplayable.

You can look at the videos in this thread: http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/off-topic/31/new-star-wars-battlefront-3-footage-shows-first-3-missions/542545/

This is as good as this game ever got and that's what this guy calls a "completed" game.

Lots of good tester lost a job that day and for a relatively small company that was a huge deal for us at the time.

I guess i've got no way to prove what i'm saying, you're just gonna have to trust a random stranger on the internet. But why would i get worked up for a 4 year old cancelled game anyway?

Well... I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind, but here:

If THIS couldn't drive down LoTR then "Dancing Han Solo" definitely won't either.
I also apologize for any mental anguish I may have caused you.
