As the title says. My two favorites are Malkalvian Mod from Deus Ex and Mass Effect character mods. Basically, I like out of place, random, lorebreaking content the best.

Malkalvian Mod is like a playable Deus Ex youtube poop. I also can no longer see pigeons in real life without thinking that if I give it pills, it will start rapping.

Serious answer: Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul was pretty good.

For jokes:

Forgotten Hope 2! This is what BF2 should have been, none of this dull modern combat BS. All shooters must be set in WW2 and nothing else! XD

This is the only mod I've ever downloaded.

Or ever need.

The best mod ever created is obviously this. Seriously, this is the best thing ever created.

okay serious answer

Probably Counterstrike. It was origionally developed as a community mod. Valve eventually hired them it was so popular. And its currently getting another make over.

This is the mod I've had the most fun with:

Skip the Fade mod for Dragon Age Origins.

That mod is a goddamn masterpiece and a godsend.

The Rise to Power mod for C&C Generals is still my favourite, its also the only mod I bother to keep installing.

Holy crap, this has got to be the greatest thing I have ever seen. World, you have done me a complete disservice by not letting me know about this until now.

On topic, probably Nehrim, a total conversion for Oblivion that is, in my opinion, far better than Oblivion in almost every way.

Either that, or The Stanley Parable. If you haven't played the Stanley Parable, download it and play it right now.

I don't know, the Johnny Bravo tank is pretty awesome.

I love good audio mods:

Otherwise, though, I don't usually have enough time to get past the vanilla content. :P

If you combine it with this

Besides pretty much every game Valve puts out I'd have to say:

1. Company of Heroes: Eastern Front

2. Fire Emblem: Elibean Nights

John P's texture packs for Deus Ex: Invisible War and Thief 3 were pretty awesome. The PC users got screwed a little because they had to make those games run on the original Xbox, and those texture packs were a huge improvement.

Also, I can't remember its name, but there was a pretty awesome Matrix conversion mod for Max Payne. They made the lobby scene into a very cool level. In fact there were many great mods for MP 1 and 2. I also loved the kung-fu mod.

In terms of user-generated content, I just played the "12 Angry Tests" user-made puzzles for Portal 2. I was surprised... they were well done and varied.

But what does it doooooOOOOooooo?

Personally, I'd say that I'm very impressed with the graphical mods for system shock 2. They did a good job there.

+10 for ruckuz and DC.

The evolution of the human gun sounds cheat on timesplitters :D

I second the graphical mods for system shock 2. Especially since they have now fixed the mid-wifes face.

Or the ss2 tool itself. Gets the original game disc to run WITHOUT having to use bloody dos-box :D

Don't you have to use anti armor on buildings? Stuff like Melta Bombs or heavy ordnance usually did the trick for me.

By the way, version 3.6 has been available for nearly a year. You can download it, but it requires a password for activation. Red Ones Goes Fasta.

Yeah I know of the latest. How goes Firestorm over Kaurava though?

Fall from heaven II

For those who dont know its a total overhaul mod for Civ 4 that adds a fully realised fantasy world. Got it a few days ago and I've barely left my computer since, now I just wish I was better at Civ 4.

Haven't been keeping up with it, since I don't own Soulstorm. I'm more interested in Warpstorm Over Aurelia, since that one seems to be making major overhauls to the multiplayer. Since DOW 2's multiplayer AI is terrible, I hope that they can make it better.

Dawn of War 2 as in the original one? Might look into that one since I own DoW2. Might be an excuse to get into the grim darkness again.

As in Retribution. There might be one for DOW2, but I doubt it's being supported anymore.

Cry of Fear because its awesome.

I would put Minecraft on here for all the mods but Mojang didn't let you change your E-Mail back in the day, so when my E-Mail account got deleted without me knowing RIGHT after buying the game and quickly tried to log in and change my E-mail, which you couldn't do till 1.0. So, I was playing on a account that I couldn't edit the skin past update 1.8.1, so I had a stupid cardboard box character running around until about 1.0 to where it finally decided my account didn't exist. And after several months of literally fighting to get them to let me prove that my account existed, it has only been responded to with silence.

Yaaaaaayyyy... Fuck you Mojang.

By Far the best mod ever made, considering all the crap I had to put up with on the 1.0 Vannila release of empire, this is a godsend.

The Deadly Dragons Mod for Skyrim is one of my favorites because it adds a ton of variety to the dragons and increases there difficulty to where it should have been in the vanilla game IMO. note: Personally I prefer the Lite version of the Mod which just affects the dragons. The full version also adds a bunch of items and spells but I don't like them as a lot are not lore friendly.

My other favorite Mods are the BUG Mod (which improves the user interface) and Civ Gold (which makes the amount of playable Civs go to near 150 and leaders to near 300) both for Civilization 4. The first removes many headaches from the vanilla game by telling you what you in an easier to find way what you should have access to from the start but don't in vanilla (for instance being told when a city of yours grows). The second has increased the life of the game infinitely.

For the best overall mod I have played, That would go to Stainless Steel for Total War: Medieval 2. Just adds so many new fractions and units and improved AI

For overall fun and humor...Posh Mudcrabs for Skyrim.

Priboi's Story for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl.

Looking forward to Lost Alpha.

You have to use anti-armour weaponry like melta bombs, lascannons or really heavy artillery.

That sounds interesting.

If there's one thing my friends and I have noticed it's the multiplayer AI and how it starts off hard and then becomes incredibly easy.
