i recently played zelda 2 a couple of months back , it's awsome . Also koodos on playing legend of legaia , that game needs more love * stares at avatar*
Erm...Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, I know it's a remake, but does that count? No? Well, um.....Oh! I played Pokemon Emerald about a month ago and finished it a week ago. It's been a long time since I've played that game.
System Shock 1 which is from, 1995? Maybe? Before then. I can't remember. Excellent game. It's sequel is even better. Shame people seem to only know about Bioshock, because alot of people (including me) believe System Shock 2 to be vastly superior. And yes, System Shock 2 was made by the same people who made Bioshock. Bioshock was a copy and paste that got a new paint job and was dumbed down for consoles. It even had the same plot twists.
Well just last week I popped my copy of Super Metroid back into my SNES. The battery still works, too, even after 18 years.
Tecmo football. | |
Played through the NES version of Contra again the other day. At this point it's just reflex. I can play through the Hangar zone better than I can sign my own name.
Shiren the Wanderer. SNES J-roguelike. Absolutely stellar. Think a more roguelike-y version of Dungeons of Dredmor with a Final Fantasy aesthetic.
I've been playing the original Deus Ex that I got off GOG recently. My first time playing it and so far I'm impressed.
Il2 sturm 1946?
Im assuming aunt dolly used his name one too many times?
............................................Bitch had it coming
That would be Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for the PS1 from back in 1997. Of which I just beaten today. Apparently it was on the PSN store for five months and I never noticed it. Who knew? Twas a short but sweet game. Highly recommend it.
Warcraft 3. Yeah that's the only one that comes to mind incidentally I found out I suck with any race but the Night elves. Don't know why. Oh shit I forgot I was playing Spyro year of the dragon on the PSN the other day.
played age of the empires the conquerors best of them in my opinion of the aoe series briton owns all!!
Nightmare Creatures for PS1. All this talk about Diablo got me wanting to play a horror hack and slasher again.
Uhh...the other day I loaded up Super Mario Bros on my Wii.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin on my laptop. I kinda need to get back to my stealth assassination techniques in the shadows.
Well I don't have much time for games, and in the last two weeks I've played BF3, a lot of FIFA 12 (been on a FIFA jag lately, I'm not going to need another soccer game for years, lots of depth in this one) a little bit of Minecraft, Frozen Synapse and Hitman: Blood Money. The oldest is Hitman and it isn't very old. To remedy this I'm going to start up a new game of X-Com.
Crystalis, just the other day.
I know this will probably get more than a few laughs, but;
I was just playing Final Fantasy X on my PS2...by which I mean I ground around a bit before the fire temple place and had the nostalgia critic on while the cutscenes played out in the background. I see why it has a cult following at this point though and I know it's not old but it is getting an HD re-release apparently. HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAA. The not cop-out answer though is Adventure Island on the NES. It's a hard freaking game honestly, I've only made it to the third area in stage one...I suck
I've just started playing Blade of Darkness. Damn, that game is incredible. If anyone likes Dark/Demon's Souls, that's pretty much where those came from. Hard as hell at points, too, but still always feels manageable (as in, a boss battle after getting swarmed by skeleton's and, oh yah, another bass battle. Good lord.)
b17 the mighty 8th. its suprised me how well the graphics hold up even today and this was a game from 1992
lets see....i recently played legend of dragoon yesterday and its one of my new favorite jrpg's.
I was about to say Killing Floor, but I remembered I booted up Kingdom Hearts II last week. I can't believe it's already 7 years old. It still holds up wonderfully. Graphics still look good, too.
To my great dismay, I tried to fire up Star Wars: Rebellion last weekend, but my newest PC build doesn't seem able to support it. I got the opening scene, and then crash. Not sure if that's enough to count.
Super Mario Land 2... on the original Gameboy... played it this morning...<.<
Legend of Mana for the PS1 downloaded it on my PS3
Crimson Skies, was looking for my Total Annihilation, couldn't find it but found this.
I'm playing Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King at the minute for the second time, one of the best traditional style JRPGs out there.
Imperialism (1997) is probably the oldest game I played recently, recently meaning in 2012. If just in the last month it's probably going to be WoW (2004)
tried Diablo 1 after seeing the popularity of Diablo 3.
I am currently playing my way through Pokemon Red. I've decided to give the series a try and felt it best to start at the beginning.
I've been playing through Final Doom (1996) recently. It's very hard but also very fun. I've also noticed that as the Doom expansions went on they started forgetting the golden rule of Doom level design more often: DO NOT make a staircase so steep that you can't see down to the bottom to shoot

The title speaks for itself. What is the oldest game that you played sometime in the recent past?
For me, I would say a J-RPG for the playstation called Legend of Legaia (1998) that I've been playing.
