Favourite Video Game Cutscene

My favourite thing about Video Games is of course, cutscenes as they help advance the plot and look amazing at the same time, but what is your favourite? My would have to be the sword fight from Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, alot of emotion, great music and of course, only gentlemen fight with swords

So what's your favourite?

People have forgotten the awesome power of the Jinjonator.

He beats ugly green women to death with his face.

Inb4 Daystar and DMC

What a handshake...

The best bromance of all time...

I'mma put something from Devil May Cr-

Bastard!

*cough*

Anyway.

After the first cutscene, cut to 2.57 for the rest.

That tension, that music.

Awesome.

The opening scene to Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is simply put, awesome.

I could watch this for hours:

This is probably the most heavy to watch IMO:

More comedy!

one i will remember is at the end of 'Castlevania: Lament of Innocence' for PS2. the one right before the final boss fight against Death where Mathias reveals that he wants to become a vampire as vengeance against God for taking his wife. it may be a little wooden and even cliche, but Konami did a good job with the big reveal as to 'who' Dracula is in the series and why the Belmonts fight him.

The good ending of inFamous 2. I won't post it for spoiler issues, but I can watch it over and over even though it's sadder than shit.

Probably something from one of the Metal Gear Solid games, cor be arsed to scan brain for favouritisms tonight.

Damn, I don't have them to link but the cutscenes in Armed and Dangerous were genuinely funny.

I shall offer up these awesome scenes of badassery

I really like MGS4 :P

"Oh look, Rookie has arrived, here comes some Baldurs gate"

Why of course my good man/woman, Baldurs gate!

Sarevok is so badass....

I'm absolutely crazy about it!

I never get tired of watching these.

I remember how much this made me tingle as a 10 year old, still love it:

I think my father buying most of my games had a lot to do with how I turned out.

Persona 3 gets nominated!

As does Persona 4.

Dose awakenings...

I dont think I have any favourite cutscenes as such but if opening scenes count these two are the ones that have always stayed with me and I still enjoy today.

This completely blew me away on release I love how it builds up pans around and then puts you straight in the action.

and this

Which is still the most epic opening presentation FMV to any game ever sure it lacks finesse but it really gets you pumped for the game a shame the Soul Calibur games were never able to replicate such an awesome opening. Great song as well.

If this counts as a proper cutscene then this is my pick

So fucking funny... Summoner Throw OP.

As for actual cutscenes, the one confrontation with the killer is completely epic in Persona 4.

For me it has to be Dragon Age: Origins, the opening cutscene for the battle at Ostagar.

Metal Gear Solid 4, the final showdown between Snake and Liquid/Ocelot.

Yeah, it's got some gameplay in it, but this entire scene, man...I fucking love it. This is why Hideo Kojima should make movies as well. Entirely in the MGS4 engine...which four years later, still looks gorgeous.

Okay, more like TM: Black end-video...

...and cutscene + battle for .hack//QUARANTINE...

...And finally Bruce Campbell.

...I swear I started this same thread three weeks ago...anyway, here's my favorite cutscene ever!

I fucking loved this game and this was my favorite cut-scene from it. Yes, more than Loki's Wrath or, Galactus destroying the Skrull Homeworld.

These two, and also the good and true endings for Persona 4.

The one in Final Fantasy VIII, the one where Seifer and Galbadia Garden attacking with assault bikes and jetpacks... friggin' assault bikes and friggin' jetpacks.

Well, this deserves a mention.

And for all it's faults, Crysis 2 certainly had a few nice chilling ones. Though you really need to play the game to get what makes em cool.

Plus, after defeating all the heroes in Overlord including the tough-as-nails warrior and feeling like a badass, this cutscene made me go "Oh crap." (First 3 minutes or so)

The epic begins at 4:27.

THAT, my friends, is Doctor Eggman. He's not silly. He's not "hillarious". He's not screwing around. He goes out, holds a gun to Amy's head, then nearly KILLS SONIC! Why can't anyone else be that awesome?

Took me a while to think but this one's suprisingly emotional.

I love that music that plays in these cutscenes. My favourite of the soundtrack.

Both of these are awesome

Shocking.

The Ace Combat 6 opening scene.

At the time that was more finesse than anything on the market. Probably the best cut scene ever.

Not too strong on the action content. But what EPIC dialogue.

I really like the evil ending to Demon's Souls. Just for the one part where you step over MIB.

It's a very short cut scene, but stands to be one of my favorites.

Metal Gear Solid was easily the first truly mind blowing game I had ever played. I remember this part well. I was home from school, sick, and spent the entire day forging through the game hoping to finally finish it.

After all of the intense boss battles, hours of enduring through my journey, I was finally face to face with it.

Metal Gear Rex.

I was unprepared for the revelation that I'd be fighting it on foot.

That's why this short little cut scene (the very first cut scene of this video clip) was such a jaw dropping moment for me.

The music, the mood, Snake's body language (since there were no facial animations) all building up to that very distinct feeling - THIS IS IT, THIS IS THE MOMENT OF TRUTH.

Amazing feeling, experiencing true emotion in a game for the first time ever.

Great cut scene, here a couple more good ones as well.....

My personal favorite vid of that series has to be this one...

"hate me, but do it honestly!"

I really think the opening to The Witcher 2 is pretty phenomenal. Quite amazing.

The opening to The Old Republic is sick too.

This might be a spoiler to some gamers but
