May have fowled up badly...

Right, so anyone with their ear to the ground concerning RPG's knows that Skyrim and Mass Effect are getting big DLCs soon called Dragonborn and Omega. these DLCs are gonna be a big drain on my financial situation (1600 for Dragonborn and 1200 for Omega), so to begin saving, I purchased 1600 points alongside Halo 4 on the 10th.

However, browsing Games on Demand, I saw Hitman Blood Money... for 1600 Points... and purchased it.

I'm just wondering if I made the right call, or should I have tried cheaper stuff (Dead Space 2 Severed being the other DLC out right now I want).

Gone Rampant:

If you like stealth games blood money will provide you many hours of entertainment. But you could have got it for a fiver second hand XD

1600 seems expensive for a dlc though. 1600 and 1200 points seems a lot for dlc though. even if they ARE expansions.

You Fowled up? I thought this thread would be about Angry Birds.

I thought he used "Fowled" instead of "Fucked" and this was going to be about a girl...

Oh thank heavens, it's about purchases and not saying incredibly stupid things to your girlfriend.

I would have looked around first, as Hitman games are pretty cheap nowadays, but meh, I'd pay that much for it.

You fowled up? Did your chicken fly the coup? Or are you just clucking mad at your mishap? Maybe you need a holiday to clear your mind; have you considered Turkey?

Dunno, how much is 1600 points?

Blood Money is an excellent game, anyway.

why not pay for both? XD

You could probably find Blood money for a Tenner in a bargain bin.
Great game though.

Yosharian:

Dunno, how much is 1600 points?

20 bucks US, which seems expensive for Blood Money.

Ok, thats expensive, but what do you expect buying from Microsoft, they basically exist to shaft you.

TopazFusion:
Yeah, you don't want to spend too much money on games, otherwise you might ruin your nest egg.

There's always the opportunity to earn eggstra though.

But, I probably wouldn't bet the farm on it, just in case the return is less than eggcelent.

Indeed.

Though one must never count their chickens before they hatch...

Well, you can, but doing so could potentially fowl up your count.

.....

Chicken.

The OP probably just made an honest mistake, no harm no fowl. I've made my own share of uninformed or poorly chosen games on Steam and I have no eggscuse.

Here I was thinking there were a lot of games about birds that came out in May.
Anyway... I don't buy DLC anymore and on very rarely anything to do with Microsoft points. It shouldn't be allowed to only let us purchase points in amounts that we can't use on their own. There will always be around 200 points left over that you end up spending on random crap, they just try to get another purchase out of you.

I would pay good money for an Artemis Fowl game!

Right, in response to everyone- ENOUGH WITH THE BIRD JOKES!

I used Fowled because I didn't feel like asking the admins to ban me for putting "Fuck" in my forum title.

Evil Smurf:

I'd love to, but cash is short, as mentioned, and I still haven't gotten Assassin's Creed 3.

Quick question: Is Dead Space 2 Severed any actual good?

The internet has screwed up my sense of spelling so much that when I saw you had written "could have" it didnt look right to me, what with all the "could of" you see everywhere...

But OT: I think Blood Money was better than both Skyrim and Mass Effect, and so is worth the money. I havent been keeping up to date with the upcoming DLCs for them, but unless they magically transform everything about the game I still think Blood Money is the better call.

You have done it and cannot get a refund. Therefore I'd say that it does not matter. There is no point regretting what you cannot change. You can learn from it, if you think it was the wrong choice, but there is no point thinking "What if".

Play the game hopefully enjoy it, and it won't have been a mistake.

But Turkeys are buzzards, not fowls! You can tell because they throw up all over themselves to keep cool in the summer.

The problem of course being that "fowled" implies adding delicious birds to something. Fouled means that you messed up. And considering you can get the entire series for less than $20 on the PC via amazon, yeah, you did foul it up.

Take a look at my badges. If I was a PC Gamer, I'd have a badge for adding a Steam account here.

What's really there? An XBOX account.

I guess so.

Still, the OP should have done a comprehensive check of the spelling before posting. Because people are realy pecking it apart.

Give the guy a break.
It's not like you haven't Laid down a badly worded OP before.

Its ok. Doesnt add anything new, just a second run through the mining section of dead space 2 (1-2 hours) as a different character.

Ending was good though.

I think the OP let the fox into the henhouse with this thread. There's a veritable free range of puns still available; I'm actually surprised that there aren't more Escapists flocking in.

I don't know, are you enjoying Hitman: Blood Money? If so, then it doesn't sound like you screwed up to me.

Yeah, Blood Money is a great game, but you could find it for a lot cheaper than $20. Good purchase mind you, and it's probably worth that much, but you could've gotten it for less. So no, you didn't fowl up, but you could've done better.

I think you were supposed to put the word bird in bold, just like this - bird.

Don't worry though, as you said, everyone fowls up occasionally.

I think I could still come up with a few more but omelette someone else take over for a while.

OT: Hitman isn't really my type of game, but a lot of people consider them all to be really good (aside from a few "purists" who think the later titles are "dumbed down", as happens with every big franchise that gets four+ entries), so I'd say if you like it then nah, no harm done.
