What PC games do you have Hard-copies of?

 Pages PREV 1 2 3

Grim Fandango
Monkey Island 1, 2 and 3
Half Life
Worms 2

I've had many other despite being a console gamer, but they've either been thrown away, broken or sold at car boot sales. I've just kept the ones that mean something to me. I just use Steam now for PC games, in all honesty I didn't even realise you could still get physical copies of PC games anymore, ha ha

Everything except my Steam and Origin Library since I still prefer buying physical products. The only times I don't is when it's the only place to get the game or if it's physically hard for me to either find the physical copy or get to the shops and buy it.

That and Sims Expansion packs since they were on sale when I downloaded them and my sister and I are glad to be over our usual "You use the disc first this time, then take it out and give it to me so we can both play." routine we've had since we were kids.

I usually buy games on GOG.com when games that I own are either damaged beyond repair or incompatible with more modern PCs. Yesterday I got Creatures 1 and 2 for $6. Better than fiddling around again for the umpteenth time in the 15 years I've had them.

Only Brood War and StarCraft 2. Everything else is digital.

A number of them!

The Ultimate Doom
Gothic 3
Unreal Anthology
Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout 3 (and DLCs)
Clive Barker's Jericho
Dirt 2
Command & Conquer 3
Mass Effect 2
Gears of War
Simcity 4
Unreal Tournament 2004
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (before the big CoD craze online and on consoles)
Soldier of Fortune
Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix
Doom 3 (and RoE exp.)
Dragon Age: Origins
Half-Life (and Blue Shift, Opposing Force, TFC, CS)
Half-Life 2
FEAR 2: Project Origin (Still has cardboard slipcase)
Quake 4
Painkiller: Black
Aliens vs. Predator 2
Battlefield 1942
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green (POS zombie game)
Serious Sam 2
Midtown Madness
Flatout 2
Condemned: Criminal Origins

I also have a whole bunch of digital games via Steam (over 100 at least)

mmm, let me check... wow actually a lot more that i was expecting...

i'll put in spoilers because it's quite long, but it's in alphabetical order. However a lots of those games might be older than you, and a few dont work in modern computers

Most of my games are in Steam or GoG, but I have hard copies of:

- Fallout
- Fallout 2
- Fallout 3
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Starcraft (+Broodwar)
- Witcher
- Witcher 2
- Quantum of Solace
- Shadowrun
- Morrowind
- Gothic 2 (+expansion)
- Gothic 3
- Neverwinter Nights 2
- Stalker
- Stalker: Clear Sky
- Stalker: Call of Pripyat
- Bioshock
- Bioshock 2
- Dirt 2
- and a few more...

My PC gaming collection that consists of hardcopies would include the following, in no particular order:

- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion & The Shivering Isles

- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

- Dragon Age: Origins

- Splinter Cell: Double Agent

- SPORE & Galactic Adventures

- Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance

- Diablo II

- The Sims 2

- Fallout 3

- Fallout: New Vegas

- Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

- Command and Conquer: Generals

- Quake

- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic & KotOR II: The Sith Lords

Yes, pretty insubstantial, but that's it.

So let's see:

Half Life
Half Life 2 + EP1 (yep, I got those + Orange Box)

AoE 2

This list does not include my Steam account with over 200 games.

Dragon Age 2
Grand Theft Auto IV
Sims 2 and all expansions
Sims 3 and Pets
Call of Duty: World at War

Then I realised that Steam is awesome and stopped buying hard copies. Plus, there's no room left for cases.

So much stuff... Til 2006 when I became part of the digital future.

Basically all 90's CRPG's, Battlefields up to 2142, age of Empires I and II, All Blizzard games til SC2, Every single Star Wars game including the X-wing DOS sims(I still have the boxes so awesome!) and the terrible earlier strategy games like Force Commander and classics like Rep Comm and KOTOR, civ III, Doom 123, Quake arena, Every Command & Conquer game ever made except for 4, Battle for middle earth, Sim city 3000, the sims, Emperor Battle for Dune and on goes the list, so much stuff... Thankfully since STEAM I've relegated practically all disks to storage and I do not look back, I liked boxes, especially the big boxes of old but I like not using disks better.

edit - how the hell could I forget?! Lucasarts adventure games! Tim schafer and Ron Gilbert ftw.

Too many.

However, I think I'm done with hardcopies now, and just going straight digital. Unless they offer Limited Editions I'm interested in... like Skyrim's Collectors Edition e.g.

In order of when I got them. Toy Story,Rollercoaster Tycoon, Age of Empires II,Sim Theme Park,Portal 2.

Not gonna type out the whole list but I'm another in the camp that, to date, still prefers hard copies. The only stuff I've got soft-copy only are games on Steam that people have gifted to me, the stuff that I got in the THQ bundle a few months back (and still haven't played any of) and a handful of titles from GOG (most of which I owned hard copies of back in the day).

My hard-copy collection's quite small, actually. I only started buying legit around 2011/2012, And even then, more than two-thirds of my game library was obtained via digital distribution. So, here are my hard copies:

•Arkham City
•Battlefield 3
•Bioshock Infinite
•Civilization V + Gods & Kings
•Deus Ex: Human Revolution
•Far Cry 3
•Space Marine
•Tomb Raider(2013)
•Total War: Shogun 2

I also used to have hard copies of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy, but the Starforce DRM doesn't play nice with Windows 8, so I sold them to a friend and re-bought the games digitally.

Not even going to bother listing everything, I have far too many.

I will say that I have an original floppy disc of Duke Nukem from 1991, as well as Jazz Jack Rabbit and Commander Keen: Aliens ate my baby sitter.

My list is Really short. I have;

The Orange Box
Dungeons and Dragons Online.

However my Hard copy of The Orange Box had it's code previously used, so it just sits there.

From before I Got steam:

Assassins Creed
Assassins Creed II
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Assassins Creed Revelations
BioShock 2
Command and Conquer 3
Crysis Maximum Edition
Dark Messiah
Dragon Age
Dragon Age 2
Fallout 3
Hitman: Silent Assassin
Hitman: Contracts
Hitman: Bloodmoney
Mass Effect
Portal 2 (I payed $90 for that -_- the good new is it got me to sign up for steam)
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
The Witcher Enhanced Edition

After getting Steam:

Binding of Isaac (already owned it and had gifted it a few times)
Bioshock Infinite

I have repurchased a few of those games on steam and there are a few I don't like, I just cant find someone to give them to.

I will open the DVD case I have here, it's dusty, many have been replaced with digital versions. I do still buy collector's editions though.

There is no order to the DVD case.

Just a small slice of my PC gaming collection been gaming since the 80s.

Out of the ones I play regularly... deus ex GOTY, thief 2, the orange box, portal, portal 2, and most of the lego games.

The Sims 3 and all its expansion packs
Sim City 2013
Supreme Commander Gold
Dawn of War Platinum
Dawn of War 2 Gold
Fallout 3/New Vegas Ultimate editions
Starcraft 2
Command & Conquer Red Alert 3
BioShock Infinite
Crysis 3
Aliens: Colonial Marines

I'd say I have a good collection.

Dragon Age 2 is the newest one followed by StarCraft 2 followed by either Kotor 2 or Warcraft 3 whichever is newest.

The huge gap in game time was because I was a console gamer almost exclusively for a long time.
With the newer PC I moved on to Steam for 90% of my game purchases.

These days I'll buy off Steam, Origin, Blizzard's store and GoG.
Digital is always preferred when available and PC is always preferred to consoles since consoles aren't reliable enough to continue their digital content throughout the generations.
