Since Epic games are notorious for reviving characters that died...

I bet Tai will be back, Maria will be back (with super badass action girl armor) because of something that had to do with the Lambent (who didn't attack the guys when they wen't down the elevator, even if they were shooting at them need I remind you) probably because Imulsion has something to do with a hive mind thing (like when the Imulsion leaked from the baddie that fell onto the elevator and went back up to the pack).

Annnnnd Adam Fenix is still alive, and the Locust Queen could be his mom... either that or the Locust Queen gave birth to the Locusts, OR the Locusts are mutated Sires (mutated humans).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They're not coming back unfortunately..

I said "DNA imprint in Imulsion" earlier.

Yea, I think your right.

The locust queen lives down the hall from me in my dorm. If I remember correctly, she's double majoring in interior design and Human Resource Management. I'm not certain, but I think she might have stolen the last of my ice cream from the community freezer.

I heard she gets around, too. If you know what I mean. *wink* *wink* Yeah, you get what I'm saying *nudge nudge*

I'm pretty sure it will Marcus's mom, because that would be just hilarious, and completely fits in with gears.

EXACTLY! If you've read the book (and I have since I have no life) you see that Marcus' mom dissapeared while he was a child. She was exploring tunnels, or something or other underground. Yeah, that's my two-bits.

Looking at gears 2 it just doesn't work.

Considering how badly written the game is... it's probably Dom's mom.

Well, I never read the book but if Marcus' mom was exploring tunnels when she went missing then that'd make alot of sense. That or a sorta lambent clone of Maria... unless Epic Games wanted to let everyone down by saying the Queen is just a locust thats look different.

I believe the queen was the test subject instead. When you go through the research facility there was a 15 year old female patient being tested on 15 years before Gears of War 2. Soon, they went to the mountains with some more test subjects. So the queen should be 30, and the queen in the game looks around that age. Also, it would explain her hatred towards humans for testing on her and the reason why their headquarters is in the mountain that the female subject was transported to...

Also explains the "old passage" that you take in the game.

Sounds very plausible but how did she:

-get away from the facility with the other test subjects
-get underground
-build an entire subterranean civilisation including huge siege monsters like Corpsers and Brumaks and subsequently train them
-Gather all the weapons they needed
-Keep the whole thing hidden

and all that within just one year?

Either those test subjects were extremely awesome workers at the time and later became horrible at warfare because of inbreeding or the design team was on crack.

The lambent part would be a bit sketchy since when you near the end of Gears 2 you find out the regular locust are fighting the lambent ones, and the queen is on the regular's side.

As for the queen being Marcus' mom: Could very well be, since she asks Marcus about his father in the game. Maybe that's how Marcus' father got to map the locust tunnels; Queen got his back.

Anyway I don't think it's Maria. Dom killed the mutilated husk that was once Maria and Epic wouldn't really be one to jump on the "OMG we f00led y00 she's teh QUEEEN!" storyline. Or would they...

New theory: Berserkers were female test subjects in that Sire testing facility. Could be?

EDIT: Double post, sorry guys, didn't mean to.

I'm almost 90% sure that the Locust Queen is Dom's Wife or somehow connected with the locust queen. Let's look at the facts.

1. It says in the game informer magazines that, "On that day...Maria lost herself in the ruins of civilization." Even though it says she, "became a victim as surely she as if she had died on that first attack." It never states that she was actually killed.

2. Myrrah is the Locust Queen's name. Maria in Hebrew is Myrrah . Myrrah could also be a form of word used to sound like M-y-rr-ah like a Locust would try and sound out Maria.

The Locust could have captured her and brought her to their civilization on E-Day because they needed a leader. OR, they could be holding her captive as of now to gain intelligence about the humans whereabouts. Maria could be the one teaching them English. And how does the Locust Queen speak fluent English?

It also says in the magazine that "As the game begins, a piece of intel from Anya sends the estranged husband and his best friend Marcus to a hospital where she may have been sighted. Unsurprisingly, the Locust Horde chooses that inopportune moment to attack, and the battle unfolds." As soon as they arrive the Locust attack... Could they possibly be using her as bait as well? Or were they trying to protect her? Interesting stuff.

It's just a theory so don't bash me. I'm just almost certain it has to work out someway like this.

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU DON't WAN'T TO SEE THEN DELETE MESSAGE (Ofcourse you want to see)

1. The Queen is Shown in Gears 2 her Appearance is very Surprising she looks like a
Human Dressed in Some Locust ish armour/body suit or maybe the suit is actully part of her

2. Sadly Maria Dies (She gets tortured by the Locust then she is found by Marcus and Dom ,,,,Dom chooses to end her suffering by killing her (euthnasia)

3. theirs gonna be a gears 3

4. nice theory

SPOILER ALERT

I don't see how Maria could be the Locust Queen since a) the Queen was alive in Gears 1, during which Maria is still alive, meaning they exist at the same time and are thus two separate beings and b) Dom domes Maria to put her out of her misery in the course of Gears 2, before we meet the Locust Queen in person.

Also, if I recall correctly, you can hear Maria speak in a dream cutscene that Dom is having in Gears 2. Compare her voice with that of the Queen in Gears 1 and 2 and the difference is quite considerable.

Who the Queen is -- as well as her involvement in the creation of the Locust and with Adam Fenix -- remains a mystery. However, I don't think the OP's theory is the one to explain it.

There was a recording left from the man in charge of the facility before it went down and in his final message said they were moving the test subjects underground in that mountain overnight to "protect the children." Also, didn't say the queen was exactly thirty, around there, so it would have given them time. As for the weapons and such, possibly from the guards (that the children may have killed) and tinkered around with them overtime, learned to construct them.

Eh, you don't need to read it to see that she's his mom. You can see it coming from a million billion miles away.

Actually I was aiming for the fact that you said they starting testing 15 years before you get to that scene, while in the game it's also 15 years after E-Day. Just seems they had developed very fast if it's true.

I don't think they were the first Locust to be around, but they might just be one of the different ones you know. Maybe the Kantus?
