Beat Writer Posts: 194 Joined: 11 Apr 2008 | I played Runescape for I think 2 days strait while I was house sitting a few years ago, when games like that were cool. I actually got a 2 day ban because Jagex was "concerned" for my health. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 28 May 2008 | I can't really compare to my fellow posters, but i think it's probably around 8 hours straight. First it was completing Gears of War online Co-op with a mate, then we jumped straight into COD4. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1812 Joined: 8 Apr 2008 | Not too long ago, maybe about 8 months ago, I figured I had about 3 or 4 hours of the main plot left in Oblivion and was determined to finish it... 22 hours later, I finally made it. |
Paperboy Posts: 43 Joined: 14 May 2008 | wow mines kinda small compared to some of these but running thorough gears of war then gettin out at midnight to get brawl and doin the subspace emissary on that then just making stages so probably like 20 hours |
Anonymous Source Posts: 4 Joined: 10 Apr 2008 | Super Smash Bros. Melee! You have to play for 20 hours to get mewtwo, and so whn it was all said and done, I had put in a good 11 just to get him, and then Game & Watch. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 1 Joined: 29 May 2008 | I do recall, playing Red Alert and C&C from about 7pm Friday evening, till Early Monday mornings I think our record for a single round was 27 hours. This being broken up with the needed trips to the fridge, the bathroom and the corner store for smokes..... |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1583 Joined: 26 Mar 2008 | 14 hours on Halo 2 multiplayer. Went around to a friends house, along with fifteen other guys and we linked up 4 Xboxs and played Halo2. We all brought alcohol and ordered pizza delivered. It lasted from 5pm Saturday to around 7am Sunday. Most fun I've had with my pants on (and my fly zipped up). |
Beat Writer Posts: 175 Joined: 22 May 2008 | ive spent a total of over 300 hours on oblivion and my longest spree is 24 hours straight on halo 2... i know i have no life |
Paperboy Posts: 13 Joined: 29 May 2008 | 30 hours playing FFXI, with a 1.5 L bottle of white wine and a case of beer ^^ It's extra fun in an MMO because people who left your party to go to sleep or work or whatever come back on afterwards and see you're on and have gain x amount of levels and they're like "are you STILL on??" .. Good for a lul anyways. |
Muckraker Posts: 286 Joined: 25 Jan 2008 | Also Fable. Only between 12 and 16 hours, though. I've also spent the same amount of time on Alpha Centauri. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 114 Joined: 23 Jan 2008 | 24 hours on GT4 Le Mans race because the AI on the formula 1 car on that particular track was utterly hopeless... (it insisted on making a pit stop every 2 laps for new tyres - I could drive quicker than the computer opponents in the car on reds) |
Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 23 May 2008 | tales of symponia played for 30 hours 4 gallons of ice tea and about 3 bags of fridos and then died and relised i hadent saved in 6 hours nearly threw my controler out the windo |

Copy Clerk Posts: 95 Joined: 14 May 2008 | Sweet Jesus, I can't compete with some of these posters here, but I still thought mine was impressive (or sad.) Eight hours straight on Earthbound, gained a whole lot of levels and got through all the weird sections towards the end. Me and a friend of mine have been planning to beat the original Halo in one sitting on Legendary, I guessing that'll take at least ten hours and a few bags of Doritos. |
Paperboy Posts: 29 Joined: 15 Nov 2007 | My personal record for was 9 hours and I thought I was crazy. Shit! Someone did 30 hours! I once had to stay awake for 30 hours (mostly for study) and could barely speak coherently at the end. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 29 May 2008 | Overall I played FFX for... like 350 hours... sad, but I was a freaky 12 year old you know, and longest I've every played straight was actually 43 hours, I remember because I hold it as a personal best for video game playing staying up, it was for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time :) :) :) |
Paperboy Posts: 43 Joined: 26 May 2008 | One day I played 7-8 hours of "no more heroes." normaly i cant play more than 2 hours. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3768 Joined: 18 Dec 2007 | Like...6 hours on Gears of War multiplayer. I feel so weak now. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3664 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | Woah, and I thought I was excessive... I reckon the most I've every played in one sitting would be 10 hours. I'm the type to play 3-4 hours, then have a break for ~30min, then get back to it. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 63 Joined: 29 May 2008 | I once beat Shadow of the Colossus from start to finish in one sitting: 16 hours |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1113 Joined: 19 May 2008 | I think 14-16 hours is probably my record. This includes bathroom breaks. Most meals eaten in front of the screen. Longer than that and I get headaches, so I don't try. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 121 Joined: 12 Feb 2008 | I don't remember exact hours but I know I played Shenmue II from evening ~night ~morning ~noon. I thought I was finished when I passed kowloon. It was so surreal, walking for hours with that chick, arriving at that house, having supper. I felt strange. |
Beat Writer Posts: 192 Joined: 24 Mar 2008 | not sure, lemme get back to you on this one :P Edit: i do remember playing dino crisis all the way through cos i didnt have a memory card at the time, but that was a short game. But looking back on my gaming days, i remember playing all night on some of the old classics like zelda etc... |

Press Junketeer Posts: 360 Joined: 25 May 2008 | Cheers guys. Keep up the posting. It's all making me feel less ashamed :) DemonicDJ is taking the lead at the moment with his excessive 72 hours on GTA San Andreas. That said wilsonscrazybed claims to have played peggle for a week, though unless he says otherwise I'm not going to count that as one sitting. Btw I know I didn't mention it was going to be a competition but I thought it might make it more fun. |

Ok, the question is what's the longest amount of time you've spent playing a game in one sitting? Also what game was it you were playing?
Mine would probably be Final Fantasy X. I was having trouble defeating a boss in the mountain area so I decided I needed to train up. I was about 12 at the time and couldn't be bothered to go into school, so after about half an hour of unconvincing whining to my mum I got the day off :D. Started playing at around 9 when my mum left for work and carried on until about 6 in the morning the following day. 21 hours of gaming, stopping occasionally for snacks and whenever nature intended. I'm not sure how that compares to other gamers so I decided to find out.
P.S. Unfortunately I did not get the next day off :(
