I don't know about you, but I am going to buy left 4 dead the day it comes out, and I even have my team picked out for maximum craziness. So i was just wondering: Are you as ready for this game as I am?

By the way, it should be coming out November (even though you probably already know this), assuming they don't delay it again.

As far as zombie games go, I'm used to Zombie Panic:source "great FREE mod for those of you who dont know"

Left for dead definatly interests me, but when I hear about how the multiplayer works im a little turned off. As far as I know theirs a 4 person limit for now, zombies based on class or soemthing "that im not sure about, might be getting my sources mixed" and respawing as a human.......after dying nothing happens. I'm used to ZPS were once you die you go to the zombie team, and it feels a lot like a cheezy monster movie "and thats why I love it" I thoguht L4D would be like ZPS but done professionally, now that its not, I am at a loss.

I think RE5 and L4D are going to be competing for "best co-op zombie survival game" - even though RE5 comes out a year later, you know it's gonna happen!

While it does look interesting, I unfortunately can't play it, due to my lack of Xbox Live... though, if I upgrade my PC any time soon, I'll definitely have a look.

Short answer: No.

If you can run HL2 or OB then chances are you'll be able to play L4D - wasn't there an interview with Doug Lombardi in "The News Room" talking about how the system specs are going to be low?

I got the Orange Box on X360... oh, and HL2, even on all low, at 800x600, lags on my comp... so hell no with my current comp.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. You got till about August or so, it shouldn't be too much, but, I can't really say much without system specs.

Yes, quite!

And PC parts are really quite cheap these days (for the incredible cosmic power); look for an intel core 2 duo, suitable motherboard and ram, and an older cheap good card like a 7900GT.. could build something decent for like 300-400 us ^^

1-2 gigs of ram could be found for 30-60 dollars, and hell, www.tigerdirect.com probably has some 50 dollar dual core processors, it's what I'm running on, just a pentium D. I think 200 could be a minimum if you recycle and have simple upgrades.

I've been researching this for a while, and I'll clear a few things up:
-L4D will run on a Dx9 card
-It's not at all like ZPS except for it's zombie genre
-If you can run HL2, you can run L4D

Just for the record, I'm not trying to put ZPS down in any way, it's the only game I play on steam currently (way better than CSS or TF2) and I still plan to play it, if just a little, after the release of L4D

It's not limited to 4 player, I think it's 7 or 8 player because 4 are humans, 3 are super zombies and 1 MIGHT be allowed to be "the controller" who moves the general spam zombies around (in horde form) although the AI normally does that.
I don't know but I think if the human dies its game over for that player.

No. As I've been saying for the past four to five months:

I like Zombie Panic: Source.

Alot.

All this hype around L4D is needless, especially given there is an almost direct alternative available, for free, right now.

EDIT: I understand some stuff will be very different, but all the same, I don't feel as hyped because I already have a great zombie MFPS at my fingertips right now anyway. Its like getting Battlefield Heroes after TF2 has been out for almost a year.

As far as I know it's 4 Human players, 4 Super-Infected players (Boomer, Smoker, two Hunters as well as the Tank which spawns only a few times each level) and a whole load of normal AI infected.

I think it looks fun, but it's far from the ultimate zombie game I've been hoping for. Still, one of the few games I expect to buy this year.

I'm not excited by this at all. I was quite interested until I saw some footage. There's no weight to anyone's movement. It's more a shoot-fest than a survival-horror. I guess being first person'll do that to a game, eh?

I have my excuses all ready:
1-I thought you were a zombie! Sorry
2-oops I didn't see you there.
3-You ran in front of my gun!
ect.

To me, this game looks pretty sweet. Seems like it's going to be a lot tougher than a shoot-fest, and more un-nerving than expected concerning playing a survival/horror game with others. Not sure it's going to be the absolute best it could be, but still provide many hours of gameplay.
