World of Warcraft was, without a doubt, the most boring game I've ever played. I have never before watched entire movies while playing a game. When I led a guild I'd just have to hang out in-game to make sure the guild members didn't bicker at each other too much and even the huge 40 man instances were boring at times. The only reason I stayed on as long as I did was to play with friends.

Hold up there champ... I didn't assume a thing.

I read the posts and developed an opinion of them, and since it would appear you're the opinion police - you should be backing me up.

Saphatorael:
edit: remembering a few more now:
Bioshock was pretty boring, I expected at least a bit of fun. Instead I just got the typical 'go from A to B... oh wait you can't, something random popped up in the way and now you have to go to C, kill some evil dude and backtrack' that I so dredgingly hate.

Dude, the vast majority of games are like that if you strip away the story and boil them down! If you find Bioshock boring just for those reasons then I think you've missed the point. You might as well be playing Wolfenstein 3D with that attitude.

Halo Series

Civilization 4

StarCraft

LEGO Chess =)

And to the poor soul who found EVE boring:

You are an epic fail. EVE is one of THE most fun game I've ever played. People like you don't understand depth and teamwork, which is probably why you didn't like the combat; you never faced anything harder than an empire rat and never learned to tank and customize ships and fight skillfully, knowing when to deploy missiles, use drones, use Electronic warfare, know how to counteract EW, et cetera.

WTF (Work Time Fun) for the psp
you diddifferent tasks-chopping wood, shooting people to make them fall in love you know, your nomral daily tasks at work. The game seemed more like a chore then fun minigames, and you did it for minimum wage so you could buy gumballs and ramen and ramen timers, and a couple very odd videos staring an asian girl or asain man...they're hard to explain...

I find the sneaking around tedious because if you make any mistake you need to start over again, over and over.

Amen.

Fuggin' Amen.

Isn't MGS basically able to play "both" ways? Guns blazing or Sneaking around, if you fuck up, you still have to start over.

Some find it more intense and fun by sneaking around, and vice versa. Doesn't change bad checkpoints at all though.

Correct. I really wanted to play it the stealth way but the clumsy controls thwarted me so I had to switch to the "kill em all" approach.

World of Warcraft got bored after getting to level 60. Bought the new expansion, got bored after the small new area. Tried different classes, were all boring.
EverQuestII an ok game but was too much like WoW and I got bored.
Lord of the Rings Online, another boring WoW like game.
Final Fantasy XI, played for over 2 years, but w/o friends it sucks donkey nutters and the grind and waiting for parties gets very boring. The only fun thing about this game is crafting and the cut scenes, really.
Phantasy Star Universe, I don't know why I keep trying to play this game, I get deathly bored in 30 minutes of game play.
I watched some Youtube videos of Age of Conan, I got the feeling I'd be bored there too.
I havn't tried Eve online, seemed too complicated.
I have played RF Online, it's a nice PVP game but it's a grinder like all others.
Starwars Galaxies, an ok game but it seemed dull with not many people playing it, and with all the bugs I decided not to buy it.
Phantasy Star Online, got bored after many years of play, playing it again on private server.
Is there a online game I haven't tried yet? lol
I haven't really been bored with any offline games except ones I played over and over. Oh some do come to mind like racing games. They get boring very fast. I play mostly adventure and RPG's though. Some of the Tomb Raider games were pretty boring, TR2 comes to mind. I liked the Grandia series of games, but Grandia X was boring. Grandia 3 was a bit boring as well. Xenosaga (1-3), I am of the few that actually enjoyed it. Even though most of it was cut scenes (excellent ones imo), the game play itself is kind of dull.
I'm sure I've ran across some other boring ones but none of them come to mind except for online RPG's. They stand out from the others, the shear boredom burned into my memory lol.

Hehe, do it both ways, just add a suppressor to a lethal weapon and pick them off 1 by 1.

It was getting use to the bad camera angles that made MGS such a pain (despite how much I love the series) - I mean, why do Japanese gamers hate the right analogue stick so much that they need developers to make horrible "Birds Eye of View" camera angles throughout the whole game? I'll never understand that.

Makes more sense than the game its self. (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35147.html)

Any game that requires me to do "farming" or excessive grinding. As far as I can see it, thats just filler material stuck in games to distract people from how lacking and short they are. Its like me claiming that this reply is actually really long and good, you just have to re-read this sentence 96 times.

Runescape, I think. All's fair, I had some good times on Runescape, but...

Set character to fish. Wait until inventory is full. Cook fish. Sell fish. REPEAT INTO INFINITY.

I get bored the most by games that lack in story, even if they're fun to play I've always enjoyed a good story. Probably why I love the mgs and half-life series... and why I can't bring myself to play oblivion much at all. That, and because I panic when given choices.

Haha, Cid MIezer.

Assassin's Creed bores me personally. I couldn't really attach myself to that game. Walking around towns murdering people and leaping from building to building was a fun concept, but it soon got old as the necessity of achieving repetitive tasks lingered on and on.

I also got bored of GTA IV very quickly. It's a spectacular environment, and I love all the little details in all the aspects of the game, but I felt that the gameplay just wasn't as fun as past GTA games. I was also insanely annoyed that they took out the gang elements, as I loved driving into enemy territory and having 3 random fat black guys shooting out of my car window. (I love you, San Andreas.)

X3: The Threat. I had no idea what to do and died. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again until I gave up and sold the game on eBay. That's what you get for negating to include any sort of effective manual or indeed tutorial.

I'm going to say the "Legend of Spyro" series of games. I don't know why they changed the game from a platformer to a beat-em-up.

But holy hell does it take WAAAAAAY too long to kill enemies in that game. It's really inexcusable why they made the enemies have such a high tolerance for pain, and is just incomprehensibly dull. Don't believe me? Go try it for yourself. You'll see...Oh you will see, indeed

I'm sure this is bound to incure a lot of abuse but i have to say them series that bores me the most has to be the GTA series. Accept of course the original top down one. I've played them all accept the most recent version and i just find them incredibly tedious and dull. I really don't see why everyone raves about them, but equally i strongly dislike WoW and thats ridiculously popular aswell.

Mass Effect
Halo Combat Evolved
Gears Of War
Call Of Duty 3
Wii Sports
Second Sight (PS2).

I'm sorry, I know I own a PS3, but those games above sent me to sleep.

i found FEAR a bit boring. I mean its a scary game, but when it isn't scary your just go through the same halls, fighting the same enemy over and over again.I'm suprised people have mentioned HL2, because its probably one of the FPS that has the most variety. And I have the halo demo for my laptop, i've played 20 times and I still don't find it boring. It does suffer from cut and copy level design, but it isn't as dull as FEAR.

Most games with "RPG" in their description. I know a game (including MMOS) are exceptional when I can get past the cursed and yet mystical level 20.

I think Burnout Paradise is a very good game but on teh down side you are just smashing cars into billions of effin pieces every time you do a race. I also thought i was going to shoot myself trying to get 1000000 points in a stunt run cuz after all i suck at getting points.

spell force 2.
the only variety in the game was how many units you control and if you could build a base or not. furter more the conversation were horrible to many times the characters used "quite some time now" and the quest were lame all the way through delivery, kill this specific dude, build this build that or destroy enemy base.

I think pretty much any football/team-based sports game. I just don't like sports so find them boring.
EDIT: Except for Sensible Soccer of course, that game was fun!

Just Shadow of the Collosus, sure it looks good but who wants to ride around an open world without anything to kill XD. There was no tutorial so I was lost as hell when I had to fight the first collossus. The game was just not fun after the 5th time I died hopelessly flailing around trying to figure out how to kill the god damn thing (which I never could).

Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights, I got bored after about 10 min. or was it frustrated? I couldn't tell, anyway, I got the cheats and then it wasn't really worth it.
