As opposed to shooting hookers and taking your money back? It'd be nice if they took themselves seriously for once in the story. That could be a potentially amazing game. The first 1/3 takes place before Katrina, the middle 1/3 is running around trying to stay alive during the flooding, and the final 1/3 is getting the violence and gangs under control. Contrary to insulting people in New Orleans, it would raise awareness and even boost tourism, commerce. At the very least, it could get people talking about FEMA and the issues that so few even understand. |

Actually most countries drive on the right side of the road. As seen by this chart. The red countries drive on the right, the blue ones on the left. As you can see, YOU are the minority. Anyway, I'd like to see the next one set in Mexico. I bet it'd be awesome. edit: damn, somebody beat me to it. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 446 Joined: 14 May 2008 | I've really enjoyed GTA IV, but Liberty City is my least favourite setting, both in GTA III and IV. I think that GTA is at its best when it's in an environment that helps the humour of the game come through, like Vice City; so a return there would be good, or maybe a larger version of Las Venturas in the Seventies. I like the idea of being able to move between cities that has been suggested by some other people. Perhaps starting in a smaller town in America, moving to one of the big cities I mentioned above, and perhaps having to go to Sicily to do some missions for a family over there. But that would be quite ambitious, and I think we can expect a couple of iterations that don't innovate too much; so I'll save that for GTA V. Oh, and let's not get in to a big debate over who drives on the best side of the road. They're both good sides of the road. |

And as the minority we are destined to conform, but not before we make a big fus and tell you to SHOVE YOUR DODGEY DRIVING UP YOUR EXAUST! as im sure youve noticed this is a joke and im well aware of the fact my countrys traffic acidents far outweigh yours in percentag per population of course, well mabye we just are more devotet to the GTA ideals than your lot XD. |

Thats...just... possibly the best sounding game ever... |
Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 28 Sep 2004 | Rio Di Janerio? South America/Centrla America should be perfect for the rags to riches GTA style. Start of in the slums/shanty towns and end up in the wealthier parts. Maybe Cuba or Mexico even? |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 712 Joined: 27 Jun 2008 | GTA: Georgia. I'm sure the Rockstar guys would just have a field-day thinking up all of the wacky lines that fit nicely into this extremely racist state. (Yes, I live in Georgia, don't tell me it's not racist, I see it all the time. I plan on leaving this place soon enough.) That, or maybe Tokyo. It would be fun to drive around in a city thats practically made of neon light bulbs. Or maybe Sydney, Australia! It'd just be funny to hit some poor Austrailian fellow and hear him shout "Crikey!" as his pelvis snapped. |

Actually reproducing those shanty towns or favelas would be a pretty big technical acheivement on any console as for those places are EXTREMELY dense and crowded. |

As for the location, London is the obvious one, and I think it should be a real city or at least a very good imitation of one like the new version of Liberty City is of New York. Whatever they end up doing, i'd love to at least see GTA move continents, get out of America, there have been 7 or 8 of them (if you include the PSP games) based in American cities/states and breaking the cycle would be a welcome change. |

Not necessarily the wrong side, it's just a matter of history and preference. Also, in modern times, right hand traffic is obviously the opposite to left hand, they just both work either way, so really no one is driving on the wrong side. Anyway, as much as it was irritating getting used to driving on the right in the first ever GTA game... it's pretty natural now whenever I start up any GTA game... straight on the right, no problem. |
On the Record Posts: 5973 Joined: 7 Feb 2008 | I'd LOVE to see it set in London, where you'd play a Jason Stathem look-a-like or something in the 60's or 70's (yeah I just saw the Bank Job, but I've wanted the 60's/70's thing for awhile). Or Chicago, where you play as a tall guy in a suit with a fedora and sunglasses, you also happen to be on a mission from god. |

yeah, pretty awesome when you think about it... i was bumbed out in the Hulk when all the fights in Brazil took place in factories. i wanted to see some bright colored shanty homes being obliterated like pinatas. |

Imagine: Old Bill with no guns (until SO19 show up), British swearing and cars, driving on the correct, yes I did see the above map, but still: the correct side of the road...ahh. Just imagining an up-to-date version of The Getaway with GTA4 physics is great (at least now The Getaway 3 has been canned, but hey-ho I don't have a PS3 anyway). EDIT: Was a little over-enthusiastic on this post so deleted some text accordingly. Just put it down to night-shift giddyness. |

No. On the grounds that it makes Rockstar too much money. Although I do agree that it is getting slightly old-hat. |

GTA London yes it's real but it wasn't very well known because it kept with the classic form for GTA instead of third person. I'm not sure if this is true but I heard a rumor that they're going back to Vice City and it'll be Niko again. These are just rumors though so don't get too excited. I think it'd be really interesting to have a Mafia the game styled GTA. One set in the thirty's that didn't suck as bad as that one. Not being able to drive a running car because you didn't know how to hotwire it was really stupid. |

It'd be hard to pull of the New Orleans story without it being insulting/patronising, though.
