Hell, While i'm at it i might just kick the shit out of the entirety of greek mythology, just because i can! Simple and elegant. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4828 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Well, you could simplify it like that, if you wanted to miss why he's doing it completely. |

what part of 'I dont need a reason, i'm kratos' do you not grasp. The main character is so irredeemably overly brutal its gorgeous, he doesn't need your approval, he kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything, He doesn't pretend he did not just gut an army, he knows what he did and was proud of it, face eating and all. I love him for being who he is. A Monster. |

If you had been tricked into draining your essence into a sword just so someone could stab you with it, you'd want revenge too. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3224 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 |
is that an excuse for complete brutality? no, he needs no excuse. For he is Kratos. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4828 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Yes, he's a monster, but he's the good kind of monster. Like Jason Voorhes. A spirit of vengance rather than mindless killing. |
Paperboy Posts: 16 Joined: 6 Jul 2008 | God of War is excellent, can't wait for the next one, thanks for the info. Whilst Kratos is One of the best characters I've ever played in a game, simply because his psychopathy give a decent explanation for why he acts as he does when most games just gloss over the body count of the protagonist, the real joys of God of War for me are the brilliant combat system and the epic environments you inevitably find yourself in. Climbing the face of Atlas, escaping Hades, etc. |

ooooowhhh (the sounds a bit hard to write down... imagine like Dee-dee from dexters lab... but in a manly tone) |
Copy Clerk Posts: 52 Joined: 23 Apr 2008 | Hey whoa, I love Master Chief but when it comes to him and Kratos it's a different story. I've played through the God of War series religiously (Aside from the mobile phone version, I REFUSE) and enjoy them thoroughly. I'm looking forward to the next God Of War in the way that someone sees their liver dangling on a string a few centimeters from their grasp. I'm primarily an XBOX fan but when it comes to Metal Gear Solid and God Of War, I will shift my allegiances. |

I've played it (I was bored and on the bus), and its not that bad. Its become a bit of a button masher, but theres still a few puzzles, the good ol QTE's, and some good magic. Of course, making it only one attack button has meant that you can't do combos, but its pretty damn decent for a phone game. Its $5, you may as well try it. Its not as good as the console ones (did you really expect it to be) but its a nice little time waster. |

We are, I think they confirmed it for 2009. |

And yet if it tried to use SixaxiS, people would bitch. |

Don't need a gimmick to bring in something new. Though I admit I wouldn't know what new thing to bring. |

SixaxiS doesn't neccesarily have to be a gimmick - look at Heavenly Sword and the Aftertouch. |

Really? Well, if we'll be seeing it in 12 months, there's no good excuse for Sony not to have had some gameplay up on the screen, and screw them for hiding behind one game cinematic. - J |

Using the SixaxiS to bash and crush the heads of Kratos's enemies would be more than welcome and satisfying. |
Paperboy Posts: 15 Joined: 3 Jul 2008 | [quote=Indigo_Dingo Xbox fanboys won't immediately talk about how Kratos would be killed by Master Chief (Kratos has bullet-reflecting armour, a sword that shoots lasers, can make exploding balls of hovering electricity, hefts a hammer that summons the dead, and can alter time. He coughs, you die).[/quote] I resent that, as an xbox guy without a ps3 ect. even i know that master cheif with his tarded name would get his ass kicked by the real spartan. *edited messed up sentance |

Copy Clerk Posts: 114 Joined: 25 Jun 2008 | Definitely looking forward to this game once I get a PS3. Though I was dissapointed with the lack of a gameplay trailer. I'm guessing they're nowhere near done and have a long way to go. 2010 perhaps? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2232 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | After seeing that teaser trailer, if they gave me a release date (that they wouldn't have delayed the shit out of) - that is all I need. Knowing the GoW devs, they are ambitious and now that they have the budget and hardware to achieve their wildest dreams, I hope they keep most of it for us to discover, this teaser is all I needed because now I know "it exists and they are working on it" and since it looked Gorgeous, you know they won't be as limited as the first two (see most special features in the first two games and www.islandofrhodes.com - lots of stuff saying "we couldn't do it because the hardware sucked, or because we ran out of cash). Oh and one more thing.... DON'T MAKE ME RE-EARN ALL THAT STUFF AGAIN! I'll let it slide in GoW2 but unless the... |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4828 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Oh well. Even if we do lose it all, I hope we can keep th Golden Fleece, and upgrade it this time around. And they've said 2009, although I'm not sure when. It might be for Christmas of 2009. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2232 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | Honestly, I hope for a release date that is either very early or very late, right now this holiday season seems to have a lot coming out, and the games of '09 that I'm looking forward to are either just "umm, it's coming in '09" or it's near spring. So basically, I'll finish all these games, and then finish and play the hell outa 40k, and then hopefully GoW3. |

Of course it would be cool, but people would still bitrch about it for no good reason, like they do with SixaxiS on any other title, including GTAIV |

If it works fine but there is a bad taste for sixaxis after a certain game used it exclusively and it didn't work. |

It might seem a little early to start discussing, but I feel like talking about this game on a site where Xbox fanboys won't immediately talk about how Kratos would be killed by Master Chief (Kratos has bullet-reflecting armour, a sword that shoots lasers, can make exploding balls of hovering electricity, hefts a hammer that summons the dead, and can alter time. He coughs, you die).
So, yeah. Its God Of War III. To anyone who's played the first two/three/four, this game is a real must play. It remains as one of the Ps3's big coming attractions, and not without reason, as God of War II pushed the Ps2 to its graphical limits, and the size of the game was restricted only by the size of the DVD (now the limiter will be things Kratos has left to kill).
The plot is supposed to pick up after the end of GOW II, where
lots of fucking cool stuff happens, its really amazing
Combat is supposed to be altered, so the SixaxiS control plays a part (possibly as part of the finishing moves, which should be sweet. Whip the controller back to rip a minotaurs spine out).
Apart from this, not much is known about it.
