Firefly and Iron Cross as already mentioned.
Also:
A Gamers Day *p*
Crank
Pirates of Carribean (done properly)
Salute of the Jugger (not really as a own game, but I think it could be great in a direct action Hack n Slay game like Rune, or fts make it standalone)

So long

Why has no-one said Equilibrium? If done right it could be class, and it pretty much sets up the combat system in the film itself. It would have to be done very well though to avoid becoming another Path of Neo.

In my humble opinion:

300- This would make for one of the best hack and slash games in all history if done right
Alien- I'm aware that Alien games have been made before, but not recently (all the recent ones have been AVP which, to be honest, have all forgotten the horror roots of the film in favor of being a sci-fi version of Counterstrike)
Planet Terror- Could be a laugh or seven
Slither/Shaun of the Dead- Both much of a muchness really

NONE

-the difference between mediums and the way stories are told through them makes it hard for me to recommend any movie take up said transition.

Well said. Successful games are, most often, completly original.

Ah, a Slither game would be fantastic.
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes would be fun too...

Well, its obvious to me that Children of Men should deserve its own video game.

If you've seen it, you will understand...

You know, if it could be pulled off, and had some really creative puzzle makers on board...

I'd like to play ' Cube '.

Trapped in a room, linked to soo many other rooms all the same, except some have evil traps in, maybe meeting NPCs who could team up with you, using things to test rooms, etc, and picking up clues to try to find a way to the outside.

'This room is... blue. I... wanna go back to the green room.'

Sure some people hated it, but its in my top 5 movies, and if by some miracle got the right people working on it, could make for a fascinating game.

I think 'Desperado' would make an awesome shooter.

Just finished reading the 'Wanted' graphic novel (first 6 comics). Holy crap, in comparison to the movie, make the comic into a game. Jumping from one parallel world to the next, wiping out all of the Superheroes you can with your other Supervillian allies. Do anything you want, because there are no consequences for members of the Fraternity. The comic was so much more badass (and unique) than the half-assed movie...

Seriously, like comparing 'Starship Troopers' the movie to the book. The movies is a crappy special effects spectacular, wheres the book is a look into human behavior in this sci-fi future setting. Ironically enough, the movie was originally called 'Bug Hunters' before some moron noticed vague similarities between the script and the novel, and then licensed the name. Can't help but wonder if the same applies here...

the monopoly guy:
300...oh...wait
Starship Troopers...oh, wait

Those two weren't made into games (300 certainly wasn't)

Although sadly...only one was a good film (300 certainly was)

Vanishing Point... ok ok, its just some dude driving across America in a really nice car but I could totally play that.

A bit off topic; some games that I think would make good movies (perhaps) are the Legacy of Kain Series.

You'd get all the goths in America flocking to the cinemas.

fight club. but properly, not just the gritty violence in the basements. but also a free-roaming sandbox city where you can live the anarchist dream... and molest street artists.

Isn't that called Grand Theft Auto?

What type of game would that be? One of those Japanese-style Choose-your-own-adventure story games perhaps?

That would explain why I never heard of it. I pay no attention to anything related to the psp.

Actually your early post had a point, Brain Dead (NOT DEAD ALIVE ARGH) would be a fun game... lawnmower zombie death...kung fu priests... teddy-boy zombies..heh.
And yes, Planet Terror too- a no-nonsense Serious Sam/ Painkiller style murdering-tons-of-dudesathon would work.
And i'd really like a game based on The Dark Knight where you could play as Batman OR The Joker...mmm...
Wanted would probably work as a Max Payne-style game as well...
