=X It's a good thing I quit that game early then! I knew that game was trouble! |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 802 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | I've skipped plenty of things for games. I skipped out on trying acid because I was in the middle of Heroic Mechanar. I also skipped many a high school dance to play games. |

Ah, well I don't see the use of going to dance without a girlfriend anyway. And isn't the point of prom to get hammered drunk and try to have sex? User was banned for: Poll: The US in World War 2. (3 days) |

I would say that's definitely not "all because of WoW". |

Prom's an excuse for a guy to waste a bunch of money buying dinner, renting a tuxedo, getting a corsage, etc. etc-- then attempt to get his little girlfriend drunk enough to have sex with her. Though she'll probably just get sick and he'll have to take her home. Prostitutes are way cheaper. ... from what I've heard. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1568 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | Well besides sleep, sometimes I skipped a meal or going out to get donuts before the shop closed at noon. Not very exciting huh? |

Yep 100$ cover the street trash that you pick up and a condom. But yeah prom just sucks and unless your like a big guy at the school in sports prom will most likely fail for you. User was banned for: Poll: The US in World War 2. (3 days) |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 802 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | Well, I went to a very small, very unorthodox school (GTCHS! Go Warriors!)-- and our best sports team was golf. Granted, I did go to my senior prom. I was on the yearbook staff, so I was obligated to take some pictures. But then it got rained on (they decided to have prom outside, go figure) so I just went home and played video games. All in all, a winning night. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 83 Joined: 18 Jul 2008 | I have to say the guy who skipped his grandparents funeral edges out the dad's second wedding... and I have to admit that is both a little disturbing and going to be enormously hard to trump. I'm also a little surprised that this turned into an anti-prom rant forum, really didn't see that coming... |

I wouldn't call 3 posts a rant forum. Though I do agree-- the guy skipping the funeral is a winner in my book. Wish I could have gotten out of a funeral or two. |

This came up when a friend of mine recently told me that she had skipped her high school prom because a LAN party came up. Personally I probably would have made the same choice but the fools at my high school weren't that cool. I was just wondering... oh escapist community I love so dearly, what have you given up because of the inevitable need to play just one...more...game...
