Pretty much gave up any and all efforts to go outside and meet new people outside of work and threw away any hope of losing my virginity anytime soon. But then again I'm rather bitter by now so I don't think it would happen anyways.

Lol, gaming isn' always a mojo-restricter. Try and get a girlfreind play halo 3 online she might even like it and her views on games might change. Then again getting a girlfreind is the hard thing in the first place.

Thanks for the nice thoughts and effort but by this point in life I've pretty much given up on dating and what not. Just do my job, go home, play games, eat, shower, sleep and then do it all over again come morning.

Well if you're gunna be like that.... no, but seriously, cute girls aren't that bad and if you get into the CORRECT mindset it can be the most fun 'game' you'll ever play :)

I don't follow you, what you do mean by cute girls aren't that bad and what "correct mindset" do you mean?

Well from the sounds of it you're not socialising with them at any level and while this tends to be a bit of a generalisation, among 'gamers' there tends to be the idea that girls (particularly cute ones) somehow have this magic ability to A) read your mind, and B) want to rip open your skull and eat your brains.... or something to that extent :P

As for the correct mindset... that's an entire forum thread post in itself lol But in your particular situation it would begin with breaking up your routine. Let me ask you this, have you ever considered learning Ballroom Dancing?

But trust me mate, it isn't too late to turn things around, as long as you want to.

Am I the only one reading this comment and thinking "get out of his business"?

He is an adult, he probably already knows.

Do you actually realise how many guys out there do NOT know what's going on? And it's worse amongst gamers cause during their formative years they ARE awkward with socialising so do NOT go and socialise, they play games instead, and cause they play games and enjoy it more they stay inside and so the cycle continues....

Is it alright if you and I take this to messages? I don't wanna fill this thread with posts about dealing with my crap.

...I gave up on a friendship in 4th-6th grade because summer before 4th grade my friend and I were both playing...NEOPETS!!! /CRY What's really sad is that he stole my neopoints and my rod of ultra nova I had tricked a kid out of...and I hated him for 2 years. I stopped playing neopets after his treachery, so I guess I should kind of thank him. Well...I still have an account just so I can play Meerca chase (don't judge me)

Not to attack you...but you do understand that some guys just aren't into relationships when they are in highschool, right? Some guys would rather enjoy highschool (though not neccessarily through videogames), then have highschool tainted with bad relationship memories. Personally, I wasn't looking for a relationship...but ended up in three of them...and I honestly wish I hadn't. It's mainly because my first relationship, the one that I was too young to realize how great it was, ended because I was a dumbass. And now I want her back, but she labels me as "a gamble"...but enough of my problems.

Leave the bloke alone.

Whoa whoa! Easy folks, he's not bashing me or anything. I really don't have much of a clue when dealing with women and I'm asking that's all.

Not to pry Unholykrumpet but I'd give up with her cause she sounds like a bitch if she won't take you back cause of a mistake.

All I'm doing is offering another option. An alternative to what is curently going on. Nothing more. If he's interested, I'll happily provide it to him. If not, then I'll respect him for his decision and leave him be.

It's creeply, every where I go online I either kill entire threads or trigger wars like this without really doing anything, it's getting creepy. >.>

In 8th grade I broke my leg and started playing video games to pass the time. I didn't think of it much then as I was into Karate a lot doing tournaments and winning some losing some etc you know competitive sport.

Well, my leg healed and I went back to doing some more I got into wrestling and then during Sophmore year I decided to play another game that seemed cool it was called Soul Caliber. From then on it was crazy.

I stopped appearing at wrestling practice my grades started to suffer and my boyfriend broke up with me. It was until the beginning of Senior year that I had a lot of work to do and I worked hard to keep my GPA at a reasonable level. It took me taking two extra classes and skipping my senior prom to study to make it. I got a 3.2 gpa (not bad considering it was at its lowest a 1.5) and managed to get into cal poly.

Then I heard about this game all the people where playing there called world of warcraft. I got to level 60 in 3 weeks and raided almost everyday. I got Tier 6 was in a high end guild life was good (in wow anyway). I missed out on hearing my dad was diagnosed with alzheimers, my moms financial troubles with paying for me to go to college, and also I stopped going to a lot of my classes and then was subsequently flunked out of cal poly. I got a job at a photo company and to pass the time when I was not working I started playing oblivion as well as world of warcraft.

My dad passed away and my mom had to sell our old house to pay for funeral and outstanding debts and medical bills and I couldn't make it to the funeral because we where downing kiljaeden in sunwell that same day. My mom recently called me and she asks me what happened to make me miss my fathers funeral and she says that I needn't bother visiting her anymore since I don't seem to care about anyone else other than your stupid video games.

Juandonde, please use the enter button occasionaly. It makes really long posts easier to read. Really sorry about your dad and mom. That WoW really gets some people.

hmmmm, lets see now.... I've become so much of an introvert that I'm down to two friends, that I can barely call friends, I refuse to talk to my family, I lost my job...

I Miss a lot of birthdays, one wedding so far...

but I'm getting better...

Hmmm I've missed anniversary dinners, my sisters baptism, my first week of a new job (which I incidentally don't have anymore!) and an inquest appearance. But these all pale in comparison to my biggest skip:

I missed my own 21st birthday party - which I'd spent weeks planning and spent more than $3,000 on getting everything prepared.

So I got online tonight cause I figured I would read the posts and get a few laughs and then maybe post who I thought was the big winner in something I considered a harmless question posted in good fun.

Honestly after reading all this though.... I'm a little depressed. I guess I forgot that there really is such a thing as a true gaming addict and though me and my friends laugh about our silly excesses we really have the rest of our lives in some degree of order.

Peace folks, love thy fellow gamer. No more threads from me for a while.

Meals, the ability to sleep properly (Now I have full blown insomnia), though that might just be 'cause I detest sleeping, and, in 10th grade, for about 4-5 months, I completely destroyed my ability to properly feel emotions. Not freaking joking. Now, instead of being emotionless, I'm just kind of emotionaly messed up. Unless I'm playing video games, any emotion I feel becomes anger. If I am playing games, then emotions are what they are.

I've noticed this a bit in myself, too. I don't blame games for it so much as being tired all the damn time.
The biggest thing I've skipped was a party involving everyone from my school, but they were all wankers and I think I was actually better off staying at home to play DoD: S.

Large amounts of sleep, food, a prom and nearly a job or two. I don't have many regrets, gaming helps me put aside my despression.

I gave up one boyfriend because I had a raging case of EverQuest addiction, but he was a creep in retrospect so I'm not sure if I'd exactly call that a loss.

I got the 10 Day trial for WoW and spent almost an entire day playing. I got up around 7, messed with my cat, got on, got off around 4-5:30 to eat and watch T.V., and played until 10.

I didn't study very hard for a hard test because I was watching my brother play this super cool game he borrowed from a friend. The original Half-Life.

A friend of mine bought WoW, the Burning Crusade, and a 6 month time card, thought it was boring, so he looked up good ways to chain quests and get experience on the internet and got a bunch of level 70's to sell.

Hmmm...skipped multiple projects/classes for video games. I suppose that accounts for the worst of it. Have a degree and a job now, so I suppose that doesn't really matter.

..but I don't think of it as skipping classes/homework for games. I didn't want to go to the classes, or do the work in the first place. If it wasn't games, I would have been doing something else (and in some cases, I was). Video games just happen to be my primary form of entertainment, so that's what I did.

It just seems to me that blaming video games for skipping/missing things, in some cases, is just an overlying excuse for something else.

Erm.... I honestly can't think of anything. As much as I play games and enjoy them, almost everything else takes priority, social, educational or work related.

mainly food. for both time and money consumption reasons. i would buy games and have little funding left for day to day use, and there are just some games that make you forget it was dinnertime 5 hours ago. lol hasn't helped my physique one bit though-- i'm not really sure what these 'supermodels' are talking about.

Food, mostly. You don't get very hungry from gaming so when I'm home alone I eat perhaps thrice a day. And "sickness" is always an excuse for not showing up to some school event which is not so very important to your future life (I do 10% of my homework, the best in my class).

I don't really lose any sleep over gaming since I sit awake to 1pm, then sleep 'till noon. My biggest "loss" was probably highschool grade picture, I was "ill" and had to stay home playing HL2.

Sounds like me in school. I do barely any homework I can scored 80% or better on almost all my tests I don't study and I fall asleep in class.

I guess I just have my priorities straight.
I'm 15 so I haven't "done it" but I would never give up losing virginity for gaming.
The only things I skip are chores (taking out the trash, cleaning my room, etc...)

I just do gaming in my spare time, mind you I have a lot of spare time.

Edit: I have a job (at the local grocery store) but if they call me up I'll go in (I LIKE MONEY)

In school: I never study, don't pay attention in class, annoy the heck out of all the other students, and confuse the teachers by doing all that and still ace all of the tests.

Dude your like me lol. Expect I can do all the above, let people cheat off me And finish my tests in like 15-20 minutes.

You can wake me up and ask me something and i'll be able to respond. It pisses off the people that have to study but hey the wankers don't let it come naturally they pound it into their heads.

Diginity - Runescape 3 years.

Physically - If I didn't game i'm sure i'd be fit but then again being super fit isn't a worry since nobody says nothing to me anyway.

Sleep - I have bouts of insominac type. Where I can't go to sleep for hours and it seems more common now.

Freindship - If I wasn't gaming then I would probably have a big circle of freinds at school. But thats not a problem since most of them are assholes and shit. Most girls are whores.(Seriously most of the girls that are fun to hang out with at my schools also go down on guys regularly. Also all my friends game a little and then I know their freinds who also game So I still have quite a group of friends.

Whats new. - Seriously the girls that like rock at my school.( Not many. ) talk about bands that I dunno who the hell they are. And a lot of the stuff people talk about I dunno what they are talking about sometimes. But thats not that important since most arn't friends I regurally hang out with.
