For solo games, the only time I hurled my controller was on FFVIII when I realised I was stuck on the lunatic pandora, while massively underlevelled...and I only had one save... Unfortunately it took the console off the edge with it and then would only work if I placed two bricks on the lid... suffice to say I control it a little more now. |

Plus, even on medium difficulty it's a two hit kill at best. |

That reminds me of the time I played Goldeneye against one of my mates and he just kept running away from me. I thought it was because he was crap and sooner or later I would catch him and beat him down. It turned out what he was doing was putting a proximity mine at every one of the spawn points which I found out the hard way. Funny thing was, rather than get angry, it just made me roll around the floor in stitches. |

There's always that one douchebag who just does his or her own thing getting the rest of us killed. I don't get violently angry though. I just pour myself another shot of Jamesons (12 year old) and sigh. Edited to add the year of the whiskey. Have to be specific with these things ya know. |

Is it sad that I cared more about the Year of the Jameson than FF11 stuff? ... wait, no it isn't. |

Definitely true. It made me carry around my jackhammer just for those damn things. In some parts I'd wish I had another gun but knew that I couldn't get rid fo the shotgun. |

But you die so easily and often you never even know where the killing shot just came from. Team Fortress 2's spies. Yes, I know it's more of a testament to how skilled a player is that he can consistently ruin my engineer shit or back stab me and I do respect the very good spy players, but Hades damn them! I hate spies! =D |

Beat Writer Posts: 129 Joined: 3 Feb 2008 | kinda surprised Alterac Valley (World of Warcraft) hasn't been mentioned yet. The retard level in there can get to dangerous levels when all you're really supposed to do is keep control of a few checkpoints long enough to burn em down, concluded with your team ganging up on a boss-like NPC. Now there are two things that enrage me intensely when attempting to win, first being the clueless pillocks who appear not to have a clue as to what's going on (even though the gear they wear requires nigh endless farming in Alterac Valley) and proceed to be a pathetic waste of space throughout the fight. PS: yes I have been addicted, recovering atm :P |

I can't help with 'nades, but for choppers, I have a light machine gun (the last one) with a grip, stopping power, and steady aim and you just blast that thing. It's better than relying on one hit with an RPG and you can usually get it down with one clip or rounds. |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 6 Aug 2008 | I was playing mgs4 and i had a dream run no alerts no deaths no kills on like big boss hard.. it was the last level im inching my way to the door...and a gekko by one miracle or another SEES ME AND KICKS ME TO MY DEATH now i was so mad i went outside of my house and kicked my tree like 12 times barefoot. i don't have gamer rage but that just set me off... |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1339 Joined: 4 May 2008 | Only time I've got annoyed is on Gears of War when playing Assassination online. I was unfortunate enough to have a know-it-all nine-year-old on my team. I was consistantly made leader, because I was able to assassinate the opposing teams leader and was generally doing better. But this little fellow thinks he can do better. Unfortunatly for him, it's an unranked match with team kill switched on. Let's just say a shotgun in the back of an unsuspecting infant who doesn't know this fact can raise quite a scream hee hee. Other than that time, I'm usually tolerant. |

I would play the slower grappler fighters becasue it would be all the more satisfying when you beat them, but I have many holes in my walls due to some ninja cheesemaster spamming high priority moves and teleports when the game is on the line. |
Beat Writer Posts: 199 Joined: 18 Jul 2008 | He he, this is a topic that I have too many examples to list. I'll just list a few of the more recent. -Company of Heroes while playing with a certain family member online. I'm far from the best CoH player out there, but I'm not horrible. My uncle has the game too, and loves the look and feel of the game, he just can't play worth a snot. Yet, he insists on playing only 2v2 online matches. I get enraged to no end at some of the plain dumb decisions he makes in that game. Its not the mistakes themselves that make me angry, its just that he insists on making them every. single. time. twenty games straight, against all advice from myself and even the enemy players. -MGO. I just plain can't stand that game, but two of my best friends love it and keep insisting that I play. So I try....try so very hard...and suck worse at it than any other game I've played. Yet I just keep forcing myself to play despite getting angrier as I continue. It makes me mad because I'm fairly good with most first person and third person shooters, yet everything about this game feels 'off' to some degree (I would go into detail, but thats probably not necessary right now). Broke a controller and some drywall over it. -Playing Counterstrike for more than an hour a month. To be honest, lately I have been trying to stay as far away from competitive online gaming as I possible can. I just don't taking losing, badly, very well. =( |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4797 Joined: 15 Jun 2008 | I finnally beat COD4 on vetren, it was one of the most infuritating things ever! The level No fighting in the war room is pretty easy, theres just 2 annoying passages you hae to get past, I finnally got to the end of the room with crates only to get shot a second before the checkpoint... The most recent annoyance is on Soul Calibur 4, I play as Kilik, because of tis I get called a noob as I destroy the other person....yet the using nightmare or cervantes is perfectly fine (whilst using the same goddamn move over and over!) |

Infamous Scribbler Posts: 637 Joined: 23 Jun 2008 | Two words: WARNING: Insanely bad language. NSFW for sure. As for myself: the closest I have EVER been to throwing a controller was a Halo 3 match. Luckily I remembered I wasn't 15 and stopped before I did it, but it was close. |
Beat Writer Posts: 210 Joined: 18 Mar 2008 | Oh yeah, I am going old school. Beyond the Beyond, I got up to the part (as if anyone remembers) where your suppose to go into this temple, though the quest is never officially given to you, and I had no idea your just suppose to get that damn pendent on an obscure ledge and leave. No boss fight, no easy exit, you trek all the way in, and all the way out. Well, I didn't know that and was fighting with my beat to crap party, desperately not wanting to have to re-load the game, looking to climb higher up the temple. I was going delirious trying to find the next damn place to go in that thing. Man, that game sucked. I was shaken from the ass handing I got. |

Sorry if this is obvious, but that video is staged. The kid has several more videos on youtube. Anyway, the guy made it to national fame when some news show decided to show his video during a report on violent video games. Along with comparing gamers to crack addicts. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 912 Joined: 21 Feb 2008 | Any Grand Theft Auto game, any mission involving a car chase. For a game that relies so heavily on driving, it sure doesn't do vehicle physics well. Whether its a mid-size car that handles like a tractor trailer or a motorcycle that handles like a jet propelled Weeble, driving quickly becomes a catalyst for high blood pressure. To complicate things said vehicles seem to gravitate toward the brown and green painted titanium posts posing as trees. If you manage to avoid the indestructible wrath of mother nature, you'll probably get rear-ended/side-swiped/t-boned by a taxi cab - and it's always a cab. Anyone who claims that GTA vehicles handle like real cars is either lying about being old enough to drive a car or is on the best psychotropic drugs money can buy. |

Dude, I feel you, or getting hit by a mutant robot with a rocket launcher attached to his arm from like a mile away. Or the terrible hit detection that they have on the zergling-like mutants. Apparently their arms reach like 20 feet because it's too damn hard to back away from an attack. Once it's released you're getting hit no matter where you are.
