Spore seems cool, I'd hit that
I swear there is more than just LBP and Spore coming out but I'm one of those people that if you ask me "what is your name?" I'll forget it right then and there. I'll get back to you. (oh and btw, LBP looks great, and sounds awesome, but spore lets me create an entire universe of whatever I want, so right now I'm looking forward to that more. Also, I need to find out LBP's release date) -and spore IS A SIN AGAINST GOD! PENISES WERE NEVER MEANT TO WALK THE EARTH!
Hmm, im mainly looking forward to Spore (Partly because, right now I havent got a platform with which to play LBP, but im working to rectify that) It seems like it could be either the single greatest game yet to come out, or just like you said, the Sims on steriods. We shall see.
No, no they were not. | |
Spore for me, mostly because of my lack of PS3 type things most notably an actual PS3 but Spore is looking very nice. Well with spore I can have an entire universe with LBP I can move some little men around and solve puzzles. I would have spore.
but that doesn't mean that they cant!
These aren't really my style but all the stuff that you can do and the quality of the maps that are made in LBP means I'll definitely be checking it out on my roommates' PS3.
Kinda ain't interested in both products, not my genre.
Technically, there is a Moon in the LBP universe and an Earth and I think a Sun. And there will obviously be Space-themed puzzles, just for the record... And Penises did not walk on land first, it was the almighty Uterus!
You can make clothes, plant's and (In the end of the of the game) New planets In spore as well.
Anyone seen the Spore demonstration from Comic Con yet? If not then it's an absolute essential to watch: http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=12766 Though I'd heard of Spore and everything that it entailed, I hadn't dreamed that there was going to be as much depth in the later stages of the game as demonstrated here. It looks like it could very possibly be the best game ever made. So, yeah kinda landing on the side of Spore right now. Don't get me wrong though, LBP looks fab too, based much more on fun, experimentation and cutesyness than Sim-Everything is, but I've never seen anything as intriguing as Spore.
I'm not going to lie, that video has gotten me pumped up a bit for Spore but that feeling will probably die down a bit after a while. But thank you for reenergizine my anticipation for Spore as it has been dead for a while :D
LittleBigPlanet. Now I need to make the choice - Kratos Sackboy or Nariko Sackgirl?
The thought of looking forward to LittleBigPlanet has never crossed my mind due to the fact that I do not own a PS3.
Spore is looking amazing. LBP not so much. It just looks like a 2-D platformer plus a level editor. Regardless of your thoughts on Halo 3, halo has already done that plus one dimmension with forge. So Spore definitely.
Gordon Freeman Sackboy. I have won.
and I thought I was the most uneducated gamer when it came to LBP - it's good to know I'm not as deep in the dark as I thought.
Nathan Hale sackboy with his buddy jesus of difficulty sackboy.
Thats not one of the options you get with the a pre-order. If I had my way I'd make a Link Sackboy.
Yes, but the sheer options available within said level editor are what distinguishes it. Where else can you create an entire level out of felt?
What concerns me most about User-Generated games is the Time to Cock.
Isn't Sporn not tolerated? And why would LBP be any different from the rest of Sonys games?
Ignorance kitty is not amused... I don't care wether you're excited more for Spore or LBP, but it's ignorant posts like this that piss me off (no offense to you personally). "Halo already did that with an extra dimension"? Can you make a completely new map in Halo while also adding a freakin penis-volcano that spews out hot lava? All you can do in Halo is move around some weapons and blocks and other things, it's custimizable but not to the extent that LBP is. Errgghh, I don't care if you hate LBP, atleast know what it is you're talking about.
Spore. Spore, Spore.... spore. Yep. September 7th, 6 days before my B-Day. Happy B-Day to me.
I can't get over how there are more creature created species than there are species on the earth
Neither. Spore-Not very creative when it comes to creatures and I don't like the Sims like gameplay LBP-Its 2D.
Actually, considering you have to interact with the foreground, the middle ground and the background, its technically 3D.
kind of marginalizes God and things like that Platipus
True, but is there any creature in Spore as weird, and yet as perfectly suited to its environment, as the Platypus? And someone should really learn how to spell. And it took Spore 18 days to do what God did in 1 (God didn't start on living creatures until the 5th day, and Spore took about 5 years to get up to that point).
So? We don't get enough 2D games these days! Especially ones as well thought out, charming or engaging as LBP. One of the most original looking and innovative games coming out any time soon and you're dismissing it because it's 2D...? Your loss, I suppose. I just hope that the game sells well, because if it doesn't creativity in games may take a tumble even further than it has already...
Hmm. Rather, maybe it suggests there was at least some manner of plan instead of ... all the randomness taking place in Spore?
LBP for me, but I think that Spore looks great too...
The one I make when I win the lottery by throwing lots of money at it.
New rule for LittleBigPlanet - never try a level made by a Japanese person. This link might tell you why http://marcvz.net/blog/2007/04/19/insane-super-mario-custom-level/ Or if you do, make sure you add commentary.
I like the look of Spore but i'm not excited about it strangely, i'm worried that EA will milk it so much with expansion packs after release that its tits will fall off. 6 Months or so after release i don't want to see the PC charts filled with: Spore: Extreme Arms etc etc etc..
Is there no more than these titles to choose from? Spore falls into the Will Wright category of potentially fun, but not effectively a game (in my mind from what I have seen to date) and LBP, I have already created a thread about how I need help to understand the rave (it is less that I think it isn't rave worthy and more that I just can't wrap my head around it) This is why I am a game designer I guess...
Neither Spore or LBG interest me, I just don't get all the hype about spore.
| (Pages: 1, 2, 3) | |
I know I'm risking a lockage here, but I hope it doesn't get locked because this has come up to me and I want to know which UGC game are you looking forward to the most?
Spore or LittleBigPlanet?
LittleBigPlanet or Spore?
Personally, I'm looking forward to LittleBigPlanet the most. Don't get me wrong, I'm (sortof) excited for Spore (though I'm kindof "eh" about it now after playing with the Creature Creator) but the custimization of LBP has really got me thinking about what I can do with it.
Spore kindof looks like "The Sims" on steroids as you only customize 3 things (to my knowledge, correct me if I'm mistaken) Creatures, Buildings, and Vehicles. I'm all for exploring the galaxy and annihilating planets and creating peni- I mean 8-eyed monkeys, but it looks a bit to much like a Supped up Sims. Sure, you'll experiement and see what will happen if you dump all your DNA points into socializing or attacking, but I'm afraid it won't have the replayability that the Sims didn't have for me.
I'm going to pray that this doesn't turn into an ignorant flame-war about how "LittleBigPlanet is casual and just for stupid kids!" or "Spore is Creationism for kidz! A SIN AGAINST GOD!"
