Those little kids that scream into their mic on Halo about how they are supposedly far superior to me which in turn get their collective asses handed to them by my Battle Rifle.

The entire game of Oblivion pissed me off quite well when I got to a point in the game that glitched and I couldn't get passed a stupid quest because I didn't have the dialog option for it.

Mass Effects many repetitive and monotonous side quests and uncharted worlds. Also, The Mako, nuff said...

Oh, and the retards on 2142 that camp the vents on the titans with Demo packs and that crazy assault rifle that shoots a million rounds a minute.

Let's see, there are several times where I've gotten pissed off cause of a game, but none that I can remember off the top of my head.

I gotta say that sometimes playing online pisses me off, depending on the people you meet.

Me and a friend of mine were playing Halo 3 Team Slayer with these two other guys, and we're all doing alright, when these losers ON OUR TEAM start calling my buddy a pussy for using the sniper rifle, telling him to get out there and charge cause he's not getting enough kills.

At this point they don't have any more than we do, so we ignore them. Eventually, one of them is at the top of our team's kills, the other is on the bottom, and we're in the middle. They're all charging in, and I'm covering them with sniper fire. It's not going all that great, but they're bitching at me to charge in with them cause I'm not racking up enough kills, even though I've just saved their asses 3 times with the cover I'm providing.

I get fed up and tell them "I'm not racking up huge kills, but I'm not dying nearly as much as you are." The top guy's response is "Who gives a shit, kills are all that matter!" I tell him "Not in a team game, not if they're killing us faster than we're killing them. Staying alive is just as important." His little friend who's doing worse than anyone on our team chimes in calling me and my buddy (who was actually working with them) all sorts of shit, just yelling so nobody can talk. I can barely tell him to "shut up and pay attention to the score" cause he's screaming so much.

The match ends, we lost, they yell at us like we just gave Al Queida the fucking bomb, and I make them avoided players. I know this is nothing new to Halo, or Live, but GOD, I really can't stand people who start acting like fanatics over a game and turn everything into a yelling match where their ammo is mainly "Shut up fag" and "You suck, pussy", believing that because they're louder, they're right.

So that was something that angered me beyond reason. Literally beyond reason, because it's really not in my nature to waste my breath on morons like that.

It had story you were a dick and just didn't find it. Everyone of the characters were meant to be there it wasn't like one person just randomly showed up and everybody feinted intrest. Everyone had backstory and everything fucking fit what is wrong with the story?

Play the original Everquest and you will know the rage. If you played DAoC you should be familiar with the phrase "TRAIN!!" Everquest was the worst at punishing players for dying.

I suppose that's true, I was also only referring to WOW in my previous post :)

Haven't got many memories from DAoC, but it definately sucked losing those critical experience points at higher levels :(

anyway, for myself, any game which actually gives me a hard time on difficulty, "hard eonugh to have to repeat a level over 4x," pisses me off because i'm not used to being hindered so much. I especially get annoyed on levels that have special events and such so that you have to go through them...again..and again...and again... i want to KILL SOMETHING.

oh. and i've met someone like that at a con. "magfest". playing DOA4. Now i'm one of those weird nerds who works out "yah weird right? right. right." so i just had a friend and myself 'escort him out'

I had got to the hostage situation on Mile High Club on Veteran. I shot the terrorist in the face, but I had fired 2 shots. Thus, one of the shots lands in the hostage's eye, making me try that crazy-ass section. Twice this happened. Bloody twice!

Similar situation. I had finally gotten gotten to the hostage on Veteran after what must have been hundreds of tries, painstakingly repeating the same strategy. Well, when I had played the game through the first time, I found out it is much easier to shoot the terrorist in the leg, the the face. So, thinking that this is a perfectly legitimate strategy, I pop him once in the leg.

"Veterans get headshots" the game replies,"Start mission over"

People who beat songs on expert on Guitar Hero, and then think they can pickup the guitar and become a genuine rock star in a flash. I've spent 3 bloody years of practising the real guitar at least 2 hours every day, and suddenly no one cares since I'm a massive noob for not being able to smash 5 plastic coloured buttons on anything higher than easy. ;[

I'll say stuff to my friends like "I just learned Sunshine of your Love" in a fit of triumph, and I'll get shot down with something like "oh that shit's easy, I completed it on expert last week."

Sigh.

My friend and I recently started replaying MGS3 for nostalgia reasons and we just COULD NOT get past the first section... you know the one, the jungle crap where you go find the russian scientist (Sokolov or something) and then the game actually starts after you meet The Boss and she pitches you off the bridge.

We were at it for hours and it got so freaking frustrating we actually started fighting with eachother... I hang out with this girls like every day and we never ever fight but MGS3 worked us into a frothing rage... games are powerful man, powerful.

Eh now, no need to get your panties in a bundle. Ok, it may have had story, but compared to KoToR1 it is easier to just say it didn't. Finding out you were actually Revan...getting to romance the ever so sexy bastila, killing Malik. KoToR1 was just so SO So much better story wise.

One day, my sister was playing my Skies of Arcadia game, on her file. She was about to save, but our Mom called her upstairs, she handed the controller to me, asking me to save for her. I saved over my best, 10 hour play time save file, which I had no backup file to.

Any time the AI decides to omgwtfpwn me for no reason whatsoever (primarily Final Fantasy Tactics and other such games).

Opening up Rock Band, plugging it all in, and after 3 hours of gameplay both the strum bar and overdrive sensor stopped working on guitar. 3 Hours!!

While Harmonix/EA was responsive in sending me a new guitar within a few days, it was obviously re-furbed as there were a few minor scratches on it and fingerprints on it right out of the box.

Even though the new guitar strum still works, Overdrive sensor only works 50% of the time.

Probably a pet peeve during a game is when you and your buddies are jamming on a song, someone accidently hits 'pause', and now everyone ryhtm in off, momentum broken, and of course missed notes until we recover.

The online communities of CoD4 and Halo 3. My sanity isn't worth spending more than a half hour tolerating that kind of supreme human idiocy, and my ears certainly aren't worth having some eleven year old kid shout racial slurs into my head all day.

I suppose that, if anything, it's given me a wake up call to how rapidly the human race is devolving.

Same thing in CoD4. I almost hate playing Live anymore as there are so many twinks and tweens on there who have mastered the ablity to use language and take trash talking to a new level that even Charles Manson would cringe at, all the while stating how superior they are.

Totally ruins the 'fun' aspect of the game when you have random 10-15 year olds whose only exposure to socialization is hiding behind a mic and spamming their racial ephitats and oddly placed homophobic declarations.

Okay, my last one for now:

I was playing WoW last weekend and doing the 'Furnace' dungeon in Hellfire. Get all the way to the last boss, defeat it, and it drops a rare item. Slowly everyone rolls 'greed' for the loot, and I noticed that the leader was hanging back letting everyone roll first.

Sure as crap, as soon as everyone finishes rolling 'greed', he rolls 'need', takes item, and disbands group and teleports out.

That was his plan from the get go. ARRGGHHHH!

2 things on bioshock, it could be my (possibly pooched, i don't trust ebay, but it was cheap) copy of bioshock, but the subtitles are all out of sync, annoying, and i got to a point where the tree doctor woman dies, and writes the safe code in the window....only theres nothing in the safe, but the game keeps acting like i need to get something from the safe...THERES NOTHING THERE FFS, tried it with and without the double search tonic thingy.

games when enemies get you stuck in unavoidable attack loops, classic example being where they attack you whilst you are on the floor and cannot get up again, its the one thing that really gets me in games.

When people attempt to put down Guitar Hero in relation to real guitar because they are idiots who don't grasp the concept that one is merely a game and the other a musical instrument. Equally vice versa for the GH fanboy crowd.

Also I know it would be impractical, an endless tool of annoyance for some and just wouldn't work in most games, but when you can't pause a game when playing online. Just kind of annoys me a little that I either have to sit and finish this game, just leave the game running and get killed a lot, or leave and have to re-join the party sometimes with some kind of penalty for quitting.

A lot of people here are complaining about people screaming into mics online.

I gotta say, I've been playing Halo 3 and COD 4 for a while and I have NEVER heard anyone trash talk over live... is this because I play on Recreation as opposed to "pro"?

I don't have an example of my own, but a few years back a friend of mine had Sonic Heroes, and the last level of any of the four teams you were forced to play as (they basically made you play the game 4 times... ... anyway) he kept repeatedly dying, falling to his death off of the grind thingies. Eventually he thre his controller at the wall with enough force to actually break it.
