Sorry if this already exists - games you waited for then found out they were cancelled

mine - 8 days

The new Getaway game. And Halo on the PS2. (it was slated to come out on the PS2, Xbox, PC and Mac but Bungie decieded to focus on the Xbox and that's what led to Microsoft making a deal with them)

Resident Evil 1.5

80% of the way through they scrapped it and instead made what is known as RE2

definatly full throttle 2.
and i know theres more, i just can't think of them at the moment

Dungeon Keeper 3

Frame City Killer >_> Or 8 Days if I had a PS3.

Duke Nukem looked ok, oh well.

Crash Team Racing DS. Would've finally brought online multi-player to the (now dead) series, which with any luck would play like the PS1 CTR did. If you haven't tried it on PS1, you should, it's like Mario Kart but in every way imaginable.

gibboss28:
Dungeon Keeper 3

This, a thousand times, this!

Xenosaga Episode 4

Wasn't there going to be a Joan of Arc game? That looked cool.

The Getaway 3, despite the fact I own a 360. Also any sequels to 'Sheep, dog and wolf' I bloody loved that game.

100 Bullets: I really loved the comic and the game was looking decent.

Yes, oh god yes!

The cancellation of Dungeon Keeper 3 turned me into a bitter old man, who no longer fears death. I will never feel compassion again!

Full Throttle 2.

Way of the Samurai 3

I loved the first two games and I read an article that told me there would be a 3rd but further on in the same article is said it had been cancelled :(

You are incorrect on several points. Bungie first showed Halo at MW Expo 99, a Mac convention, and announced the title for Mac and PC. Period. Up to then Bungie was a very Mac friendly company, always releasing its PC and Mac titles on the same day. After MW Expo, Microsoft bought the company. After that, Bungie announced the XBox focus and timed exclusivity. Despite the game first being demonstrated on the Mac, the Mac version was the very last to market. As far as I can find, it was never announced for the PS2.

They released it on PSP about a year ago.

starcraft ghost the fourth or fifth incarnation of that game look pretty cool, but they kept scraping it, moving to a new developer and starting over. i think it was supposed to release in like 2000, but they kept pushing it untill they decided to shelf the project, which i bet means cancel it.

That one actually looks really cool.

There was also this RPG hack'n'slash about the historical Joan of Arc I played on Gametap for a little while..

I thought it was kinda boring though.

B.C.

Agreed. I was all set to rip into hordes of dinos, and what happens? They cancel it and now all I have is that shitty Turok game.

Damnit, I didn't know there was gonna be a CTR DS. I really want that game now...

Other then that, I don't think I know of any cancelled games that I really wanted to play.

Well, they had it on EVERY OTHER system. And I'm not 100% sure online mode was planned, but it was to come out after MKDS, so it kinda seemed like a no brainer. Eh. Perhaps it's for the best though, all the CTR games since the original on the Playstation have been downhill.

100 Bullets and Stargate SG-1 : The Alliance

Spore... I've lost faith it will ever appear...

The closing of Black Isle killed me.

- Original incarnation of Fallout 3 aka Project Van Buren. . . scrap.
- Baldur's Gate 3 (later discussed as "The Black Hound" aka Project Jefferson. This may not be a total loss as JE Sawyer (the original lead designer who now works for Obsidian) is working on releasing this as a NWN2 mod.

I keep hearing rumors of a Shadowrun RPG being made, only to have it fall off the face of the earth. I consider that a major let down too.

starcraft ghost i was looking forward to that but no more

ghostbusters and saboteur indiana jones and duke nukem forever

Starcraft: Ghost, definitely

Fantasy Earth

And most of all... .Hack//FRAGMENT

TheHuntman:

x2 on Frame City Killer.

and Starcraft Ghost.

also Resident Evil 3.5
the "Mist" version with a big haunted mansion looked so awesome even though it was something of a departure from the original RE franchise.

Fallout 3 from Interplay, also known as Van Buren.

Is Madworld still on? I thought I heard someone say it was cancelled.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand....

Oh wait you said games that we wanted my bad.

Van Buren did look really, really good. I'm sad that Chrono Break was completely cancelled. I'm sad that the Shadow Hearts Team disbanded and also that Suikoden 6 is looking less and less likely as time goes by.
