Tell what is the top three funniest games you have played. By funny, I mean hilarious dialog, funny characters and overall comical and funny game. Here's mine:

1. Sam and Max Hit the Road
2. Psychonauts (the characters and dialog were amazing)
3. Day of the Tentacle (I feel like I could take over the world)

It seems also to be apparent that developers are not making many funny games anymore. Everything is so serious and spooky. Developers don't seem to understand that sometimes gamers just want a good old belly laugh.

Conkers bad fur day, and thats it really, haven't found a game funnier than that

I have to say Psychonauts as well. Its one of the only games to make me laugh out loud, and laugh out loud HARD.
Edit: Crap, crap, crap, crap, How could I forget Portal? The dialogue in that game was amazing.

Psychonauts, Grim Fandango and Portal.
Erik Wolpaw and Tim Schafer are amazing writers.

Oh Portal! Shit I actually forgot about portal.
-slaps self for the shame he has brought apon his family and pets-

Portal, the only genuinely clever humor i have experienced.

Sure, others had jokes i liked, but Portal had the balls to be a comedy and admit it.

I haven't played Psychonauts so I'll have to go with Portal obviously. I'd never laughed so much during a game.

"Please note that any contact with the test chamber floor will result in an 'unsatisfactory' mark on your evaluation... followed by death."

"Didn't we have some fun, though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said 'Goodbye' and you were like 'No Wayyyyy' and we pretended we were going to murder you? That was great..."

Conker, The Amazing Game That Is Psychonauts, And PORTAL!!

Grim Fandango. Period. Compared with this, all the other games mentioned are just trying too hard.

I don't really see how Portal can be seen as relly funny. It made me smile a couple of times, but i never even laughed a little. There was clever lines, but all in all, it wasn't that funny.

I forgot about Grim fandango, that one was funny. Again we see, old games seem to be funnier than any new ones.

Because no one else is adding games to this list, I will do it.

Discworld 1

Dungeon keeper 1+2
Armed and Dangerous

Curse Of Monkey Island. Just plain hilarious.

Wouldn't say it's the funniest game but I did have a few good laughs playing Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. However, I think it's funnier when you're watching somebody else play it, hehe.

lucas arts point and click adventures, toonstruck, earth worm jim 2, lost vikings 2 (pc version) yeah those games are pretty fun.

1.Armed and Dangerous
had me on the floor in laughter at some points. You should check it out.

2.Condemned
if you have that sick seance of humour

3.Portal
A few good one-liners in there

Psychonauts, Portal, I Wanna Be The Guy. Burst out laughing in all three.

Portal with a close runner up bieng Alone in the Dark for the comedy of what happens when you drive.

Already mentioned but gotta be Grim Fandango and any of the Monkey Islands (I was mainly thinking of Murray 'The Demonic' Skull - he rules! >_>

Also, can you ever beat a lactose intolerant Volcano?! ;o

Amen! but there is one developer making games funny. Valve. Played portal? yeah that's funny but not only portal but half life, since picking up random stuff with the gravity gun and killing scary monsters, thus totally emasculating them is extremely fun.

I already wrote that I have played portal, but i did not find it very funny. Fun with physics is not what I count for a fun game, but that's just me.

Pokemon Yellow, pissing off Pikachu never gets old.

Blood... (1 & 2)
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.
This is MY boomstick!
Let's see how this one blows up.
Excellent use of colour, the composition is but lacking.
I hate mimes.
It's howdy doody time kiddies, the bad man is here.
Heeeeeere's Caleb!
How long do you think I will tolerate your existence?
Through the lips, over the tongue and passed the gums, look out tummy, here I come.
snf snf, somethings burning.
Meat milkshakes, my favourite flavour!
Hello, Mr Caal-eeb, have you ever been or are you currently a character in a video game? wtf?
I love the smell of blood in the morning.
What we have here is a failure to caogulate.
It burns, it burns, Aaah, Oooh, Aaah!
*Wilhelm Scream
etc.
etc.

And then there's Fallout 1 & 2.

Curse of Enchantia
Sacrifice
Haven't played Psychonauts or Portal yet (hangs head in shame)
Full Throttle
Space Quest 2
5 Days a Stranger (sudden, retarding brain injuries, anyone?)

Yeah that's more than three...

Return to Monkey Island (That's Monkey Island 4)
Dear god Guybrush is hilarious.

Also HK-47 had some amazing lines.

Portal, Psychonauts, Conker's Bad Fur Day.

The Timesplitters series had some pretty funny moments.
All the drunks in it were usually pretty good.
And all the times standing outside a room and hearing one obviously gay guard coming onto a scared guard inside it.
Everyone's reaction to "It's time to split!"
Theres loads more in there too.

"I only wanted...to be loved"

Timesplitters had some good moments, more so than any other games I've played.

Portal, Psychonauts, and, for one of the funniest Force tricks, KOTOR II. You can do the mind trick on a guard and he will take a shortcut by fallng off the space dock.

Portal is simply the king of kings when it comes to humor.

I also liked Dead Rising.
It had a kinda twisted humor, you could use all kinds of funny stuff as weapons.
Using a bowling ball to throw a strike on a bunch of zombies, sticking a shower head into a zombie and see their blood pour out of it til they fall down and die, and riding over zombies with a lawnmower, are all excellent fun.

Smacking them about with handbags. Very slapstick.

I'll have to go with the crowd here and nominate Portal & Psychonauts.

Otherwise, the Phoenix Wright [And maybe Apollo Justice too. Just maybe] series has some funny references/lines.
It makes a game that would otherwise be "serious business" much more interesting.

Conkers bad fur day on the n64

why has no one said the game run like hell. You could have a bawls energy drink while you get eaten alive.
