fix-the-spade:

It wasn't much of a secret, but I always loved seeing the BAFTA award in the safe of the G5 building.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. Funny. Also, I know it's technically an achievement, but I laughed when I first found the Gnome in HL2:Ep2 before I checked the achievements. 'Course, now I hate the damn thing, lol.

Anarchemitis:
The place in the Half-Life 2 Episode 2 caves where you can only get at it with noclip & a message pops up saying "How did you get back here?"

Hmm, never heard of that one. Do tell, where is this "secret cave chamber" located?

i giggled with glee when i could flush toilets in the Max Payne Demo. I never bought the game.

Reload92:
Any game that lets you flush toilets. Most of the time when I walk up to toilets in-game they do nothing. But sometimes it flushs, which makes me feel all good inside.

(That wasn't weird at all)

Hey I'm not the only one :P!

Thats gotta be one of my favorate as well.

Other then that, most of BioShock's off the beaten track (ie place you dont have to go). Stuff like the parents who have comitted suicide because their child is a little sister (although thats really morbid) and the ghosts in it.

Also im suprised noone mentioned the "hidden" areas in Portal, where the guy there before you has done stuff like sticky tape a picture of the conpanion cube over some model's face.

How about the key to Midgar in Final Fantasy VII? That was pretty awesome. The game actually had a lot of secrets.

Duke Nukem 3D had hidden messages outside the level's normal boundaries. You needed to either noclip or open the levels in the game's editor to find them. One map had a message from Levelord saying "You're not supposed to be here." Secret levels were pretty cool in ye olde FPS games like Doom, Duke3D and Quake. It's too bad secret levels don't seem to exist in FPS games anymore.

Well, my friend and i found a glitch in Halo, where you go from the beginning of the level to the end of the level, skipping most of it. i dont remember what its called, but its the one where you spawn on the beach and the choppers drop off some mongooses (mongeese?), and you drive up to kill a wraith and a bunch of enemies.
Also, i find all of my CoD glitches, they arent secrets, but still fun to achieve.
Insomniac Museam was still fun to find.
And random MGS4 easter eggs. so many, like one i found was, on Sonny's computer, theres a little Otakon that helps you in MGO, the little animated one, and also on her computer during the scene with Raiden where the numbers and characters on the screen make Otakon's face again, she must really like him...

Technically this isn't a secret as it is a welcome surprise. The first time you die in Conkers bad tail day you get a lovely little cutscene featuring the grim reaper.

Water Hazard level. It's called the "Singing Vortinaught Cave' and you get an achievement for finding it. I haven't, though.

So, there's an actual vortigaunt in there, singing? Hmm. Oh, by the way, if you have sv_cheats enabled, you can't earn achievements. Anyway, thanks. Have to find that one.

As for secrets, remembered another. The two secret maps in Doom 2. I loved playing with a friend over dial-up or a LAN and making our way to that secret Wolfenstein map.

Not quite as interesting, but I loved discovering the website in GTA4 that tells you where all the pigeons, weapons, jumps and random things are. Apparently you can also meet the killer that leaves random body parts in bushes. Never did it myself though.

Ooh, actually I just like the random Cokehead you meet on the street that gives you fifty bucks because you rip the piss out of him. That amused me greatly.

Yeah Oblivion was insane at that. If I ever tried to find all the caves and little areas I'd have another 50 hours added to my gameplay. Not to mention addons. Heck I have 130 hours logged onto the game and I haven't even touched the main quest. Now that's insane.

Getting the "space" ending in The White Chamber.

I looked everywhere afterward, and there was absolutely no mention of that ending, so I felt a bit smug.

Now I don't know if this is a secret, but the ability to fast forward time in Chrono Cross after you beat it was a very nice bonus.

Hehe, I was going to post the Winter Lodge behind the Bloodstone Demon Door. Beautiful area, and it scared the shit out of me. Go look inside. xD

-The movie references strewn around Duke Nukem 3D.
-The suicide note from the troll under the bridge in Oblivion.
-Of course, the cake stuff from Portal.
-The basketball secret from System Shock 2.
-The video games you could play on your Game Pig in System Shock 2.
-The chainsaw from Doom.
-The "Whoopsie!" from Mortal Kombat II. To this day I still laugh at that.
-To me the best "secret" is the entire Half-Life saga. The interconnectedness of it all really seems like it was made by geeks for geeks. Trying to explain the Half-Life mythos to someone is a little more than futile without them experiencing it firsthand, what with all the detail involved. Magnusson's comment in Episode II about the mircowave was the icing on the cake.
