If so what video game character would you hire as a bodyguard.

Mine would be Gordan Freeman he's good with guns, he's a scientist so he could help with stuff like homework, and he's mute so he won't complain at what you make him do.

A Big Daddy hands down, not a fanatical bioshock fan or anything but if I wanted someone to protect me, it's going to be the badass in the big metal scuba suit with a steam drill on one arm

I'd go with nathan hale. Auger would make short work of any motherfucker. Also psi-powers.

Ryu Hayabusa because, well, he's a freakin Ninja, and that was one of the jobs that Ninja's were traditionally hired for.

That, or Nero. Not Dante, 'cause he might slack off, so I'll have to go with the less powerful, less cool, but still prety awesome dude.

Are you sure? I always thought they were hired more for assasinations, thefts and the like. Samuarai would have been a much better choice as guards. No argument intended, maybe you are right. I haven't honestly looked it up.

I guess I would have to go with the whole group from TF2. That way I would have a whole group of trained people with different skills to help keep me safe.

I would hire...I dunno, I guess my best choice would be some dark god. But if it were a regular character, I'd go for Niko from GTA4. Man be packin' heat.

Seriously, he's got a rocket launcher in his back pocket. I'm pretty sure he'd kill anyone before they realized he was a threat.

Thats a pretty god damn good call. I wouldn't mind having the Big Daddy with a big gun at my side.

I love how everyone picked different bodyguards so I guess I'll pick....

Either Yoda or Darth Vader

Yoda would be cool to have a wise master conveniently perched on your should or flowing next to you on his little pod, with fighting kills to boot.

Darth Vader, because I would like to see someone try to attack me and it would be funny to see Darth Vader force strangle people when they stare at us at mall or some public facility.

Anyway, I'd probably go with an experienced stalker, from STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. If a person spends enough time in the Zone, they become the most alert bastards you'll ever find. Seriously. If there's a bomb or hostile person/creature within a mile of you, they'd know. Also, they will most likely have connections with underground crime organizations. This way, they're more alert than a trained sniper, and have access to all the rumors of what kind of dirt's goin' down. To pay them, you just get them out of the Zone. If you get someone out of the Zone, they owe you their life.

Who needs that when his frame resembles a steel-constructed rhinoceros that shouts like a train horn at the drop of a hat.

Master chief, snake (MGS), your character from crackdown, Garret (thief), Altair, Marcus Fenix with the Lancer or Nico Bellic so i could listen to him insult everyone who came near me.

If all of these guys, jebus himself would have trouble getting near me.

I second (third?) Big Daddy as a bodyguard. Assuming you could teach them to protect people other than those little girls, you'd be set for life. Don't even have to pay 'em.

Reaperman Wompa, slightly edited for capitalisation reasons:
Your character from Crackdown

I'd go with that.

Never hire an assassin as a bodyguard. You'll never know if he's actually paid to kill you. Well, you'll know when it's too late.

That said, I'd hire HK-47.

Nomad from Crysis, the amount of features his suit has id be as safe as houses, built in movement sensitive radar, strength, speed and invisibility modes, oh and the all important maximum armor for those "take the bullet for me" moments.

All good stuff so far, so just to add a bit more variety...

G-Man... what *cant* he do? And if he's protecting you.... you're *safe*. No matter what.

Well, we're both right. Originaly, Samurai were bodyguards, soldiers, infantryman, etc. However, as time went by, a Ninja by the name of (you're not going to believe this) Sasuke (not freaking kidding), who was a freaking child prodigy Ninja (Hmm, I think I know where Kishimoto got his ideas from), was able to lead a bunch of Ninja and turn their reputation from dishonorable assassin's, to honorbale warriors, bodyguards, infantryman, etc. Basically, he made them stealthy Samurai. Though Ninjas would still take on their more traditional jobs, such as Sabatoge (SP?) and assassination, they would also protect nobles, when hired to do so.

And no, I'm not kidding about the whole Sasuke thing.
