i've been keeping up on every little detail on valves and turtlerock studios new game, left 4 dead. which is coming november 4th. And i am getting it for 360, only because my comp sucks. and seriously, i dont want to deal with hackers and modders. not for this game. well what i'm asking is, how many people are going to get this for 360? And how many of you are SOOOO damn excited for this game?

I personally don't get the game. It's a zombie shooter except with 3 other people, what's the big deal? Of course you could break down any game like that, but I just don't see what's so great about it.

Still, have fun with it anyway.

I'm considering it, but I really can't imagine having to play co-operatively with strangers, let alone use actual teamwork. So I'm probably going to pass, which is a shame, might get it for PC if I manage to get a new one by 2009.

Getting it for the PC (Steam). I like having an intangible copy of the game and not having to deal with a smaller community (let's face it: the console online communities are smaller for smaller games, but relatively healthy for the PC).

I've had too many other games to consider to concentrate on this one exclusively though.

I'm been watching it since its first exclusive preview back in 2005, i knew even back then this game had so much potential. Valve must have liked it alot if they decided to buy it up and make Turtle Rock into Valve South. Some of the most recent gameplay videos have shown some really amazing features of the game.

I'm gunna be throwing me some pipebombs this November. Gunna get it for PC for the better visuals, smoother controls and lack of childish XBL asshats

I'm of three minds about it.

1) It's Valve. At the very least, it's going to be an excellent game. It could also be groundbreaking.

2) The AI "director" sounds interesting. A co-op campaign with the variety and replayability of multiplayer? Sign me up.

3) Like TF2, the matchmaking system might completely suck on Xbox 360. Not just because the interface is practically broken and (for as long as I played it) the lag was unbearable, but because people on Xbox Live generally don't like to cooperate.

On the other hand, it's easier to find three buddies for a round of L4D than it is to find 11 other people for a round of TF2. So yeah, I'll be getting it.

I would have gotten it if I would've had a good computer, because XBL sucks.

i agree with most of you when you say "Xbox Live sucks because of those little buggers on it who call my mother a whore" but ice~nine there brings up good points. like it has new features that will be groundbreaking and other games will use, yet that valve is doing some stupid stuff, like "realistic hair movment" guess they saw yahtzees review on uncharted: drakes fortune...but anyway i see your point of view yet i sort of disagree...only cause i'm a sucker for survivial horror and fps's

I know my cousin (the other one not the one I mooch Resistance off) is riveting for this but I'm not really a multiplayer guy and I don't trust AI buddies.

I was excited about this game until I saw the gameplay mechanic. It looks(and i imagine feels) like counter strike with green terrorists.

I'm not sure where I stand with this one. I do like zombie games and a LOVE online co-op, but I'm still not gripped by it or the trailers for some reason. I'll wait till its been out a few days and see what people have to say on here because it is usually sense, and then make my mind up.

N.K:

Technically, you don't have to. You start a server alone and the AI Director controls the other 3 survivors and the 4 boss zombies. As other players join they simply take over where the AI left off. This might concern some of you as you might be thinking, "Great. I have to choose between playing with bots or trying to find 3 other humans." Fear not, as every publication that's play-tested it so far has said that, even in early builds, they could not tell the difference between a survivor being played by a human or one controlled by the AI Director. This is one of the primary reasons I'm looking forward to it probably as much as the OP is.

Well, as it uses Source, it's scalable. So if you can run Half-Life 2 or any of the Episodes you can run this no problem. You'll probably have to turn a few things down in the graphical and audible departments, but that won't really detract from the play experience.

I'm really pumped for it, but there's just way too many games coming out in Oct-Nov.

Which puts this game on the bottom of my list.

They have since fixed the majority of the lag. And you probably just havent seen anyone on TF2 that will cooperate, they are a rare breed, but I am one, along with a couple other of my friends.

Updates by the end of the year FTW!!

EDIT:
Yea i might get it, but there are a few other games i want to get, along with a new pc...
Right now its not exactly jumping for the top of my list, that title goes to Fallout 3, or maybe the new STALKER if i get the new pc soon.
