Playing KOTOR and my save messed up. Luckily it still worked and when I loaded I had 100 of every item and had gained 3 level. Of course the Missingno. glitch in Pokemon Red/Blue is always a favourite.
****. One that literaly happened to me in I Wanna Be The Guy...Tried to cheat by saving in midair over a platform.
Yeah I loved the Missingno glitch. Great for playing around with. The old trade glitch where you could clone pokemon was pretty sweet too. Thats how I got my Mew.
Every now and again I'd be driving along in Vice City and whoops the car goes through the floor. Sometimes this resulted in driving along 6 feet under the world and sometimes I'd spawn at the very highest point in the sky then plummet to my death. Which was always hilarious.
GTA4 still does this from time to time. When it's having trouble rendering the environment, I've been looking like a submarine driving along with only the roof of the car above the pavement in the road. A very odd one.
there was an amusing glitch on halo 2 where if you had the sword and where in the passanger seat of a warthog. all you had to do was swing at a person near then if you drove away and got out you would fly across the map at them :P
Yea they fixed that Halo 2 glitch.
I like the get out of the map glitch for Zanzibar in Halo 2. Very satisfying.
In Assassins Creed I somehow got The Assassin Guy stuck behind a memory-block wall (the bit where you're not suppost to go) in Acre and while trying to escape (from the wall!!) Iand the guy seamed to be levitating and getting higher, eventualy escaped from wall hell only to realize he was 500 foot in the air...
I still find the "Meet the Civilian" glitch to be golden in TF2.
i was playing GTA 3 once, and I was on the bridge that raises in the middle. I didn't want to wait so i drove off the end. The car behind me followed me, and fell on top of me, but instead of becoming a pile up, the car stopped a feet above me, then proceeded to fly off into the distance.
One time, a friend and I were playing super smash bros. on N64. All of the sudden my cat hit the cardgridge and the game froze. There was a song playing though that sounded really messed up and funny. And i love the invisible man glitch in CoD4. Where in any level (I like ambush for this) you fall off the level for a really long time, then commit suicide. When you respawn, you are invisible until you die (somehow).
Mine has to be on hitman blood money on the mardi gras level, I throw a guy off of a balcony and he just hovered above the crowd screaming and flailing his arms it was really weird. Or on halo 3(forge) on a level which is a bridge and it has these super jump things on the side(ps3 player freind has a 360).
By far the funniest thing ever...
I remember once I was playing "XIII" for Original Xbox, and I got into a massive battle that there was no way I would win. My little brother knocked into the Xbox and the game froze up, so I thought I would have to restart the whole level because of him and got very upset. But suddenly it came back on and my character fell through the ground as was in a black area underneath the level design. I could walk around just like normal and if I looked up I could see the enemies walking around. After a while of trying to get back up I got bored and started shooting upwards, at which point I realized I could kill the enemies from down there and they couldn't hit me. After a while the glitch corrected itself, but by then I had killed almost every enemy in the stage :D
In Marble Blast Ultra, there was a multiplayer map with a half-pipe in which-due to the placement of boost powerups-you could knock another player so high up that they would cease to see the map below them. If you did it right, all you would see is the bluish sky so it looked as if you'd gone into space. A demonstration, as well as similar tricks for other maps, can be found here:
In COD4 you can turn invisible if you do this.
Getting out of Delta Halo in Halo 2.
This. I'd destroy all my tiny friends with my super powered pokemon, and they'd have no idea how I did it. Creepily satisfying, seriously.
IN a oblivion, if you got to the courtyard of castle skigrad (you must have a high level of acrobatics for this) you can climb onto the roof and you see that the castle is actually floating in this empty blue area. If you jump of you like get stuck in the air, but if you mash an attack, you get teleported back into the courtyard. There are loads of these glithces in oblivion. Also *SPOILER* since the count of skingrad is a vampire who goes to sleep for eternity, you can attack him all you want. He once ran outside and I knocked him out on the floor. I kept killing him and the guards that passed by didn't even do anything. (he also got sunburned, due to the fact it was day time and he's a vampire.)
Also in Oblivion I realized that the summons could cause endless wars between the guards and the civilians. I did it with a scampi but any summon that has a ranged attack would work. It's a little tricky to do because the summon maintains it's duration from your spell but it is very funny. First you summon and then punch them(so they don't die). The summon turns aggressive towards you and then try to kill you. The scampi's fire ball spell is pretty slow though, so if you jump out of the way and it hits someone else, that civilian becomes aggressive to the scampi. The civilian then tries to kill the scampi, which for some reason causes the guards to attack the civilian even though the scampi hit it first. When the guards kill the civilian, the whole town turns aggressive towards the guards, which causes and endless war because both the civilians and the guards respawn.
Oh god, another Obliv one - I am (unfortunately) the Grand Champion of the arena, so i have the Adoring Fan. However, i just got Shivering Isles off a friend, so i went to explore it after a quick session of fireballing the adoring fan off Frostcrag Spire. However, the Adoring Fan appeared...and i went over to talk to him to get lost, but he suddenly blurts out - "I HAVE NO GREETING" (sic) ...
In Oblivion i went on a killing spree in Cheydinhall as an Orc and master of the Fighters Guild. As the guards came to attack me, the unkillable Burz-Gro-Khash bloke from the guild started attacking the guards. The guards then knocked him unconcious, causing all the orcs in the city to start attacking the guards. Since a few orcs in Cheydinhall are important And good times were had by all.
The most awesome glitch in TF2 happened to me yesterday. I was playing on pl_goldrush, my teammate had set up a sentry, that had fallen on back :D
| |
In Saint's Row if you jump onto the hood of a car and press Y you would automatically warp into the car.
1) In Dragon Warrior Monsters for GBC, I got a monster that was a tree branch that never stopped leveling up after a battle. 2) In Oblivion, I got promoted by the Grey Fox to Master Thief before I got promoted to Shadowfoot, then I got promoted to Shadowfoot, and now when I go to the sceno where the Grey Fox gives you the Cowl, he finishes talking to whats-her-name, and they both walk away, while I'm stuck in sceno mode. 3) Also in Oblivion, you gotta love the flying paint brush glitch (drop a paint brush from your inventory and it floats in the air. You can even stand on it) and the dancing brush jars (Drop a brush jar and it'll dance on the floor)
In GTA4 I ran into another car and it caught on fire, as did the person inside it, even though my car wasn't on fire.
One time me and a buddy were playing co-op Gears, and on the level where it's all dark, and you have to push the car to stay by the light, were we pushing it and all the sudden it just flew away. Also, COD4 freeze jump on bog, got under the map and kill my buddy w/ a grenade.
On assasins creed i had just killed the person on the boatyard, but when it went into dying words moment altair wasnt appearing so the dude was telling his life story to himself. also in assasins creed I was jupming from one building to another and apparently brushed agaisnt something wrong somehow, so i was frozen in midleap....till I foud out i could move around floating above the city, frozen in midleap...good times.
The first Driver had the funniest physics. Squeezed a car against the wall and whoops! The car suddenly jump hundreds of feet in the air and drop on its roof. Another interesting glitch involved passing through a level in Hitman 2 by just...running towards a wall. Silent Assassin guaranteed. And finally, in a game called International Superstar Soccer Deluxe for the SNES, there was this interesting glitch that happened every now and then where one of the players could just control the ball at will. After a goal, it would work fine, though. Hm.
Playing the Orange Box I was trying to do the achievement where you take the gnome in the rocket. But I've noticed that if you walk over the gnome (for me it fell out of the car) and it shot me across the map and I fell to my death. After the 9th time, I gave up on it because I would lose track of it and walk over it accidentally and die.
I've got two from the original Halo that I can think of at the moment. The second one takes place during the cinematic at the end of the Assault on the Control Room level. Now, we had decided to just run past the Hunters guarding the final door to see if anything different would happen. As chance would have it I got shot in the back and died just as the cinematic started. When it did it opened with my dead body lying right in front of the door. Then the camera panned away as an invisible Master Chief walked along the bridge thing that leads to the controls. I thought that nothing else would happen, but when Chief starts talking to Cortana my body had moved to lying where I was suppose to be standing. As they continued talking the body switched to a weird upright position, which essentially looked like he was standing in a slouch at an angle with all the leg below his knees stuck under the ground. The crowning moment of the whole thing was when the Chief exclaims "Keyes!" in a shocked voice and the camera zooming in on where I was suppose to be, which still had the Chief's weirdly angled head sticking into the shot. Wow, those took a lot more explaining then I thought they would. I think I still have both of those videos on a VHS (I was very happy when I first figured out I could record my games that way) and I kinda wonder if there would be some way to upload them to my comp.
What is the best thing that you've seen in game that was caused by a bug?
The only one i can remember right now is a weird one in Metroid 2 when i rolled out of a screen in morph ball mode while switching to missles (cant remember the exact specifics) then all of a sudden, the screen started scrolling through different rooms at a very fast speed for no reason at all.
...I'm sure I'll think of more later.
