There are only 4 levels and 5 bosses, replaying the same ones over and over just gets really ridiculous after 35+ hours with a character. For the depth of its items and gear tinkering it should really have a few more zones and the story could have used a lot better of an exposition. Overall it gets a B- to C+ from me, good but defineatly missed its potential. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2157 Joined: 28 May 2008 | I've played it through on co-op a couple of times now, and I gotta say I do like it. A bit more variation in the combat and moves would have been nice, and a few more levels wouldn't have gone amiss either, but I think it's overall pretty fun to play. The story's not bad as well. Only thing is it doesn't have too much replay value, and I'll probably end up trading it in fairly soon, so I'd recommend anybody to rent it rather than buy. |

The combat was incredibly repetetive, the story wasn't good enough to keep me interested, and while you get used to the camera and controls eventually, they never really feel intuitive. It might have been better if I had tried co-op, but I prefer a good one player experience. |

...or maybe he actually liked it. |
Paperboy Posts: 11 Joined: 15 May 2008 | Played through Single player as Defender. Thought it was repetitive until I realized I never tried to break out of the rut. I PAID to re-assign my points to other skills and forced myself to mix up my play style and it became much more fun. Decided to try co-op and found the team work made the combat more fun, especially when the classes compliment each other. Defender/Commando made quick work of all enemies. Playing as a Bio-e w/ a Beserker for my teammate worked well although he was moving so fast I could barely keep up with him. I'm going to put it on the shelf and pick it back up later for some more co-op. |

Plus it didn't help that the graphics were absolute shit (Played it in HD on a Samsung LCD TV and it still looked like something off of the PS2) |

I broke up the monotony by reassining all of my points when I was higher level, then tried some co-op and that was fun. It was a good time waster while I wait for Force Unleashed and Dead Space. Reminds me a lot of Diablo 2. |

I found the targeting system to be quite unintuitive. Also, it might just be me, but the combat seems to be biased towards the melee classes, except for a few mobs/bosses. |

I just beat it today and I have to say it was better than I expected it to be.
I love Norse mythology and I like how they made references to it even if it got annoying at times. The Valkyrie scene was cool until you died more than ten times. I loved the chant of the Aesir.
The characters also had character and a consistent personality that didn't consist of dick waving constantly (unless you count Thor) and you get somewhat attached to them. Even to your enemies.
The story is very entertaining and I liked the twist. The cutscenes were long enough to be badass or hand you story information but not long enough to make you wanna skip them. I liked the themes covered by the story and the music was IMO great.
The one major flaw I had with it was the time it took to get use to the strange controls.
