Paperboy Posts: 33 Joined: 25 Jun 2008 | I'll get both just so I have many songs to keep me entertained (Except mine will be the Wii versions not 360). Besides I like the challenge, when there is one anyway, of completely everything on Expert. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 384 Joined: 10 Jun 2008 | I still can't find a play list for GH:WT, so that title is pretty much impossible to get excited about. |

As far as I know, this is the known list so far: Guitar Hero World Tour Song List: |
Wordsmith Extraordinaire Posts: 10319 Joined: 28 Nov 2007 | I'll get both if possible. And St. Waldo...Here ya go. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1587 Joined: 5 May 2008 | Ok...based on the song lists I just read for both, I'm going have to change my mind and go with Guitar Hero World Tour over Rock Band 2. Assuming I can't get both anyway. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1710 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | Rock Band's song list stomps the shit out of Guitar Hero's. That said, I probably won't be getting either because I'm fucking sick of these goddamn guitar games. |
BANNED Posts: 12958 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Rock Band is definitely better than Guitar Hero. User was banned for: Poll: What is your opinion on the Metal Gear Solid storylines?. (Permanent) |
Paperboy Posts: 46 Joined: 14 Jul 2008 | I personally just had enough of GH, and I'm not really interested in spending any more money on the whole deal :/ Never got into RB. |
Paperboy Posts: 25 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | Im going to just buy the disc for Rock Band 2 and get the whole set for GH:WT. But when it comes down to it, if I had to pick one and only one, I would pick RB2. I'm definately more impressed with and looking forward to, it's song list. Plus all of the songs I downloaded and all of the songs from RB1 and I'm happier than a pig in shit. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 414 Joined: 9 Jul 2008 | I just don't like the ROck Band graphics (the dots work a lot better than the lines for me), and I like the click of the GH guitars... Wait, I don't own a 360 or PS3...I guess I'll get whatever my roommate does! |
Paperboy Posts: 35 Joined: 30 Aug 2008 | I'll be getting the Rock Band 2 special edition, and the game-only version of GH:WT. I'm far more excited for RB2: the song list reads like a shopping list of win, and of course it's compatible with the songs on my RB1 disc...plus I actually prefer the Harmonix guitar for its flush fret buttons and non-clickiness. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 484 Joined: 5 Feb 2008 | I'll get both. I like the attention to detail, and rock n roll vibe that Harmonix has in all of their games(except maybe a couple that this statement just wouldnt make sense for;) ) , and I like the rock solid peripherals that red octane offers. The new guitar hero controller will put the rock band version to shame, just like the last one did. I'm really just glad to see healthy competition. If you ask me, Activision got LAZY with GH3, and copped out on alot of the detail and re playability. Never mind the fact it took them practically forever to support with some solid DLC. I hope rock bands success was as much of an eye opener for these guys as anything could be, and removed that sense of security that Guitar hero was the family favorite, and nothing could replace it. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1129 Joined: 11 Dec 2007 | If I had enough money...and space...I would get both. But considering I have neither, I will go with GH:WT only because I already have a guitar for that one (and enjoy the guitaring better in GH). The drum kit does look pretty freakin sweet for RB, but I will wait for a friend to ge it, then I can at least have access to both. |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 730 Joined: 2 Jun 2008 | I'll get both most likely. I'm going to get the RB2 with controller first, because it's supposedly compatible with GH:WT so I'd save money because all my old guitar hero controllers are on the xbox I don't really use any more and I want to get the RB2 first because only about 7 songs on GH really interest me. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1155 Joined: 23 Jul 2008 | I've already got all the stuff for rock band. i feel kind of obligated. |
Beat Writer Posts: 197 Joined: 27 Aug 2008 | If i do decide to get a "rock band simulator" i would have to get rock band 2 for one reason, and one reason only "Drain You-Nirvana" that song is plain awesome. |
Muckraker Posts: 340 Joined: 30 Apr 2008 | I already have Rock Band and love it to pieces. I'd like the new instruments, but I'm not paying a ton of money for the more-reliable versions that should have shipped in the first place (I've replaced everything but the microphone), so I'll just get the disc. The setlist is awesome and the backwards compatibility is great to see. I'll probably end up getting the full GH:WT set, since I'm really interested in the new instruments and there are a lot of songs on their I'm dying to play. Not to mention, the song creation mode sounds amazing. I can't wait to try it! This is a very good season for games. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | i dunno, guitar hero world tour looks pretty promising to me, i'll probably get it instead of RB2. Plus I hear alot of people saying that the song list in RB2 is way better than GH:WT, which I sort of agree with, but hey, if you don't like guitar hero world tours set list, well then you can always make your own damn songs |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2080 Joined: 1 Jan 2008 | I refuse to buy any guitar-related games that have never featured a song from Megadeth. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 873 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | well you can always play GH1 and 2 |

Scratch that, I'm pretty sure Hangar 18 was in Guitar Hero 2 anyways. Also, as awesome as having SOAD is on World Tour, any songs by Rammstein (seriously? 4 games and not a single Rammstein song? for shame GH) or KMFDM would be super awesome. In fact, since KMFDM is an industrial band, I'm guessing one of the only songs that would qualify would be Saft Und Kraft. |

..Which one? User was banned for: Poll: What is your opinion on the Metal Gear Solid storylines?. (Permanent) |
Copy Clerk Posts: 91 Joined: 9 Jan 2008 | Well I hear that the instruments will be compatible with each other so I'm planning to get Rock Band 2 as the full set and GH-WT with a guitar. I'm luckily though, my neighbor works for Harmonax and MTV with the development of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero peripherals, so I may be able to get them through him cheaper. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1180 Joined: 25 Jan 2008 | Rock Band 2's definately my priority, though christ knows when it's gonna get released in Britain. Just had to rub it in that you're getting it in a couple of weeks, dintcha? Though I'm definately going to pick up Guitar Hero, simply to play:
The rest of it's fairly meh. But Hotel California? Fuck, yeah!
Really? How come? |

WHAT? HOW? is there even guitar IN that song? Meh, on second thought, I pardoned GH3 for Pat Benatar, so I think I can let this one slide. It is a catchy tune, tho. All in all, my vote goes to RB2. Why? Aqualung. Jethro Freaking Tull! |

For the same reason that the Ps3 version of Rock Band 2 will be available to Europeans and Australians at the same time that it is available to Americans. User was banned for: Poll: What is your opinion on the Metal Gear Solid storylines?. (Permanent) |
