Anybody ever played Shadow of The Colossus?
First time i played it I said, " wow this game is awesome,
it even has great graphics for the ps2" so i played the game
and beat it...........in about 3 and a half hours total,
which was about one evening. This drove me crazy because
it was such an awesome game in my opinion, but it being so short just
ruined it. Any body else ever experienced this in a game?

Sam and Max Season 1 and 2.

Great games...but too short. And also no one bought them.

I would honestly have to say Mario Galaxy, it was fun and all, but seriously easy and short. Another one tha is short would be rainbow 6 vegas, this was tough, but short.

All the Ratchet and Clank games, they end WAY to short for me to really love htem :'( I always play them day in and day out when I get them and as a result I finish the game to soon.

yeah, the rachet and clank games are always tons of fun,
what i hate that games are starting to do nowadays is
that the first boss type enemy you have to fight in
a closed off, cinematic arena is kinda easy and the
second boss, 50 times harder and continues like that,
and the last boss of the game is like a complete
joke when compared to the second boss

I absolutely love that game, it is truly a work of art,
but i agree from a game player perspective another five or ten colossi would certainly not go astray. hard mode and time trials add a bit of spice but some more opponents would make it.

yeah, its not like they couldn't shove a few more in the game, i
was waiting the whole game for a "building" colossi that you had to
scale by climbing through its fully furnished building inside
by exploiting holes in the walls and stairs and others things
like that, guess not

"the last boss wasn't close enough"

I agree with you on Shadow of the Collosus, and here's mine:

Halo 3 - Beat it the night I bought it, then went to sleep and still got plenty of rest for class the next morning...and I got it at a mid-night release. OK so that's not entirely true, I didn't get nearly enough sleep for class the next morning. But the point is I beat in less that 8 hours, which to me is too little.

halo 3 and metroid prime 3. first off i hate the halo series because it seems to complicated and i only played it because the guy who owned it was bored to death although i loves the vehicle section that was awesome. and metroid prime 3 because i beat it in 13hrs!!! the second was a filler and it was very hard and i can't explain the first cause i got to the phazon mines then my friend wanted the game back.

Heavenly Sword. Even though the ending was orgasm worthy.

Portal, Half-Life episodes(for their production time at least), Fallout, Bioshock, CoD4, FarCry(Well they could have made it even longer, I wouldn't mind if it wore out its welcome), Dues X: Invisible War.

I thought Halo 3 was much too short too, and I had the same reaction with CoD4 which is "hm, this seems suspiciously like the lead up to the endgame. Hey, this looks suspiciously like the endg-oh, it's over".

Halo is too complicated for you? There's nothing complex about it...it's "Point, Shoot, Kill."

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

I was extremely sad when I finished the game, so I cheered myself up by playing it three more times in a row. That should say how good and short the game is, right ? =P

Maybe if you played the other games, or realized that there really isn't that great of a plot, or realized the third was a bunch of random story elements thrown together because Bungie wanted to get everything in even if it didn't make sense.

the portal game was way to short, played and beat it over
at my friends house and said cool and asked when the
real game came out,he replied what? He had a confused look
on his face and I realized i hadn't just beat a demo,
then realized it was way too long for a demo

then the depression lol

Yeah the game was way too short for me. I beat it in a couple of days and I was so disappointed that there were no other bosses.
I think they should have put some of the elements like ICO into the game, so it would be like puzzle-ish stuff to get to the boss, then the real puzzle itself,
How to friggin Kill it!!!
Anyways, my ps2 stopped working and the game was only a rental.
I've always wondered, What would happen if you went to the area let's say the third boss would be when you're supposed to go to the second boss? Would it still be there?
Hey did anyone else get upset when they found out that the "Secret 17th Colossi" Was a fake?
I was so pissed off that day!

The story is incredibly simple actually. If you play them in order (CE, then 2, then 3 as should be obvious) you'll understand it quite quickly. The story could be summarized in a paragraph or two actually.

It took me a couple months to beat it, but I'm probably slower then anyone else in here. I'm 3 hours into Tales of Vesperia after a week.

One that sticks in my head is Gun. It wasn't a bad western shooter and had a great story but it ended too quickly. Not quite the scope of GTA.

I disagree that Portal was too short. It was just the right length. Any longer and it would have been annoying.

Bioshock actually went on a lot longer then I thought it was going to.

I kept coming to what I assumed was the end, and the game would keep continuing, until finally I'm attacked by a blue silver surfer with a drug problem then bam, game's done.

criminally short games... hrmmm... Fable 1 comes to mind.

I would say Far Cry. The game itself actually takes a long time to beat, and to be honest not many people reached the end. But at a certain point you could tell when the dev team was stretching things with indoor environments and cookiecutter, untested levels. I just wish the experience of the first few levels, moving stealthily, approaching situations how you want, and primarily fighting human enemies, had lasted a bit longer.

I say this over and over again in many threads, and I'll keep on saying it in these threads XD

Star Wars: Republic Commando, awesome game, best Squad AI I've ever seen! However, too short and no sequel :(

You thought Uncharted was too short? I't took me quite a while to beat it, although, when I played it again on the other difficulties it didn't take nearly as long, so I guess you're right, sorta. And I agree, it is a pretty awesome game, I'm currently trying to beat crushing dificulty.

Super Metroid. If you are really dayum good you can beat it in less than three hours. In fact it rewards you for doing so.

Whenever I try I clock in at about 4 hours and three minutes average (Damn Miridia)

Did anyone play dark sector? It was definetley a let down, considering how long it's been in prodeuction, and it's a lot more mindless than I expected, but it's still really fun. It's also really short though, like ten hours at the very most. I went around a corner and suddenly I was on the final boss fight, and it took me a couple of seconds to realize it, because it was really sudden.

Also, every game in the MGS series. Those games are just so awesome, it's almost dissapointing to see the end.

I'd have to say Halo three and call of duty 4 simply because in CoD4 it seems like it's missing the last half hour or so of the game.

*resists urge to post basic definitions of 'to' and 'too'*

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - that game was so close to being my favorite of the series, but 5 dungeons and 2 half-dungeons does not a Zelda game make.

Shit yeah. The worst part is, I can't really think of a way they could have made it longer without making it worse.

But yeah. You become a goddess, and you fight the physical manifestation of evil. Thats a damn good end level.
