I looked around and as far as I can tell there isn't a topic for this (correct me if I'm wrong), but what do you want in GTA 5 if it gets made?

For me? I would like GTA: London, no don't laugh I think it would be good, since Britan isn't all 'Spit spot cup of tea', think about it; Gun trafficking, drug slums, corrupt politicians, chavs to kill. It might go a bit tits-up with the cars though and it might be a bit small-scale.

Maybe it is a bit stupid considering GTA is mainly about British people making fun of American culture. But come on, what are your ideas?

San Andreas, with a few improved parts and better graphics.
If it's anything like GTA4 i'll be pissed.
40 hours max play advertised as the game you play until you die.

San Andreas could be played for months and still be fun, if GTA 5 is like that i'll love it.

Edit: and somewhere new, not just the same city with a new name.

Small town, but with knows conflicts as the Lyn vs Enga conflict (football) and the A-gang sv the B-gang (gangsters) and then you have the biggest conflict: The West (rich) vs The east (rich, but not as rich as the west)

But like make the new character a random guy like a drug den owner's witless assistant who realizes he can control the region as a drug lord. or something.

That's actually what I thought when I played gta4. It would be awesome if it were set in a "real country"

well, I think it will follow the GTA3 development cycle as they take the same core engine (GTA3) and tweaked and modified it through Vice City and then San Andreas. So I think the next GTA game will not be called GTA5 but GTA:"insert location name here".

One thing I wondered about was setting it in a War where it was all like spies and double dealing and army everywhere meanwhile you are in the middle and just want to make some money in any way you can make money in the middle of a war zone.

GTA: Iraq could be a possible title

I mean you would still have civilians and cars going around but there is also loads of militias, terrorists, guerillas, mercenaries, foreign and local armies, the UN, as well as more controversial things like evangelising aid agencies, shyster reporters and corrupt generals.

This would be pretty controversial, especially if the main character was Arab and it was set in a "Generic Middle Eastern Country" with US troops that could well be Iraq but it's not like Rockstar hasn't gone to edgy places before. I know that there is an incredible amount of money being thrown around in Iraq for western, Arab and jihadist funding to Saddam's incredible riches. Plus, I know that both the western coalition and jihadist insurgents are paying lots of money for both highly trained mercenary assassins as well as putting a price on the head of those who step over the line.

Is the world ready for a satirising ultra-violent game about Iraq? MGS4 was set in a very Iraq like place but it took itself rather seriously. Do you think it could be done, lots of games are being set in Iraq or generic Middle eastern cities (50 cent's game)? More importantly, should it be made?

PS: Plus, what the hell happened to that promised Xbox 360 exclusive content? It's been 5 months and nothing has even been announced and Rockstar hasn't even confirmed they are working on it!

Well...since GTA4 returned to Liberty City I bet GTA5 will be Vice City with better graphics :)

Hey i get to steal a muzza's souped up car and then run over a bunch of bogans on the footy field and cool off by killing a few innocent surfers. It would be fantastic. There has to be a sit with the emo's in the melbourne CBD option though.

How about setting the game in the late 60's/ early 70's and keeping it that way. Think of all the awesome car chases you could recreate with those sweet muscle cars, plus Rockstar can be creative with the time period and have a tonne of in jokes about the culture and period.

I reckon a neo tokyo futuristic kinda GTA5 would be kick ass.. Light phasers and death rays and what not =].... Also, would be pretty cool if you could skateboard around, then pick your skateboard up to use as a melee weapon, haha, that would rock. skate around, slam someone in the face, skate off..

Yeah dude, cept with people on the street, haha.. more fun with people chasing after you =]... Would also be cool if it was set in old western times, with people having pitch forks and such. then again, the only 'grand theft auto' you could do is a horse and carriage. Not such a fast get away xD.

GTA London 1979 was already made as an expansion/sequel to the very first Grand Theft Auto. But I totally agree it would be a good destination.
I'd like it if they focused more on the "Grand Theft Auto" part. Maybe wind in a kind of Gone in 60 Seconds storyline, where part of the main plot involves car theft. There would be ways to make this non repetitive hopefully. Its just, why do they always end up being about mob lords, when the games name suggests cars mainly? Sure you could have murder as part of the plot too, but it needn't be the dominant thing. I don't think they should tone down on the violence all that much, but maybe shift the primary focus onto something else other than eventually becoming the leader of some crime organistation

How about we scrap that idea and just BAN GTA games..they are out of date....rockstar need to start a new series of games.

I agree the series is getting tired. Rockstar needs to re-think it. But, I've always wanted a GTA set in 70s San Francisco, running over hippies with sweet car chases after drug deals gone tits-up.

I never got the PSP games... I never bought the ps1 games..(played them though) and the PS2 games I got bored with after vice city to be honest...San Andreas was ok I guess but the one after..sucked....they have run out of steam...
