Which is the real sonic and which are complete knock offs to you?

Mega drive sonic by a long way. Those games defined what Sonic is about, every other game afterwards was utter crap. That and the fact that Sonic 3 was the best Sonic game ever, well Sonic 3 and Knuckles also I guess:D

Let me make this clear. ANYONE who votes Sonic X is either just trolling or is unforgivably treacherous. Sonic is not about... whatever the heck that show is about. I guess I have to admit I've never managed to get through an entire episode. That's saying something on it's own though. I have a huge Sonic Obession. I sing the theme song to the 90's cartoon in the shower. I watched and even managed to enjoy Underground, and there's never been a sonic game, no matter how terrible, I haven't played.

Simply put, Sonic is way past cool.

"Sonic 2"is THE Sonic game. It had just enough of everything. I still hum the music. It had Spin-Dash, it had Miles, you could super-impose Knuckles if you felt the need and it had incredibly varied gameplay and level design. There are STILL routes in Sonic 2 I've never taken and I've beaten it like 500 times.

Cons to that one? I guess some of the bosses were too easy along the way although the end boss and Metropolis are quite difficult (Unless you did what little brother did and look up a Gamefaq, cheatin' little wuss) and Tails really needs to be controlled or turned off. AI Tails is only going to cost you rings in the half-pipe.

Megadrive/Genesis/Sonic CD period titles were all great games, and there were glimmors of hope as late as Sonic Adventure (The sonic parts were a lot of fun...then you met Amy...), but it's just lost it. I hope the magic can be brought back by Unleashed, though.

REAL sonic is the one from Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2, those were two AWSOME games, the voice-acting was very well done.

I pray it wasn't Sonic Labyrinth. There were serious issues with that title.

Also, I'd like expand treachery status to anyone who liked Amy, Shadow Rouge, Silver, Marine and any of those ridiculously useless characters that the "new" Sonic games have dumped on us.

Sonic, Tails and Knuckles was fine. In fact, it was probably too much. The character based was initially expanded, I believe, for the cartoon. And that wasn't so bad. But those characters aren't even around anymore. Where's the Princess? Where's Bunny? And Pierre (I think his name was Pierre) Sonic satAM had a rich stable of good characters. Who felt the need to exile those from the games?

I loved the games, but it was that cartoon (along with the Sonic Comicbook) that pulled me into the world and made me care about it. I wish they would make a sonic game from the old SatAm cartoons (and none of this Eggman crap. Robotnik all the way.)

Exactly! totaly true. couldn't be more right. Sonic from sonic satam is considered bey me to be true sonic.

They were not ports. They were kind of a continuation of the Adveture series.

Sonic CD will forever be the best Sonic out there. Retains the simple gameplay (no gimmicks), astonishing graphics, perfect musical score, and has a few ideas that give replay value.

I've only ever played sonic on game boy advance so that'll be the one for me.

The classic sonics for me and also The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon...that and the mario cartoon were two of the best things ever. xD

The Only Other One The I enjoyed Was The Dreamcast one And the REst I Just Do Not Like At All

I liked it when the only characters were Sconic, Tails, Knuckles, etc... A cozy cast, brought together by some slightly cheezy but endearing storyline that only the angsty characters took seriously.
And you have to admit that raising chaos is pretty fun, albeit random.

i've enjoyed the evoloution of the game from master system up until the "adventures" i believe they went in the right direction this way, but with the split of characters and overall pace of the levels being staggered it wasn't as enjoyable.

a game focusing on the speed and level design of the sonic/shadow levels i would presume would be enjoyable, but leave everybody else out, no new characters, and no tails and knuckles aren't supposed to be able to keep pace with him. >_>
