Copy Clerk Posts: 120 Joined: 21 Jun 2008 | I like Xbox but hate the 360 and also I've never had a Nintendo console only Sony and yes I believe all consoles are good I just hate that one company. Just because the same company made it doesn't mean PC gamers can't be felt left out I mean they have to wait a lot longer for the game to come out and by that time all their friends with 360s would have let them play it which becomes a big disapointment when they do make the PC version and not many people buy it. Please don't write fanboy messages Evilwii which your post is since you have said Microsoft is the best by saying they need more money. |

I'm glad you have all the consoles but you did seem a little fanboyish though which is probably what made me think your a fanboy. |

maybe if you don't pay attention to all the billions they lost and continuing to lose with the red ring of death fiasco the 360 is still not making a profit |

I don't understand the criticism or problem? They are just marketing their product aggressively? I thought you were going to make the argument that Microsoft trying too hard to sell their console was having a negative effect on sales or something, if you think Microsoft have out outmaneuvered Nintendo and Sony in terms of marketing (something I wouldn't tend to agree with) then why is that a criticism of Microsoft? It's just business. Get over it. |

Imagine you run a lemonade stand and both your neighbours have a lemonade stand, You put up a poster at the end of your street and your neighbours don't, people see your poster and buy more lemonade from you than the other stands, stop it BULLY! You decide you don't want to sell just homemade lemonade and go to the shop and buy all the brand lemonade and sell for a profit on your stand making more money than your neighbours who didn't, stop it BULLY! You can see how ridiculous it sounds, a free market is exactly that: free and open for competition, you can't blame a company for trying to be the best and you can't blame it for another companies inactivity, Microsoft don't have a monopoly on advertising and any games that are up for sale go to the highest bidder, Sony and Nintendo are hardly lacking in funds if they want a game on their system they will have to outbid the competition. |

All the big companies, be it Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo all try their hardest for you to buy their console. They are a business. The objective of a business is to make money. Any criticisms you level at Microsoft can easily be applied to both Sony and Nintendo. You are either having a hard time using logic or you are a raving fanboy of Nintendo or Sony.
Actually, Microsoft's game division has been making a profit for well over a year now. Sony, on the other hand has lost nearly 3 billion on the PS3, an amount that analysts say Sony will never overcome even if the PS3 sells on par with the PS2. Microsoft did lose quite a bit of money on the red ring fiasco, but they are in a MUCH better situation than Sony is with the PS3. And Nintendo, well, we all know at this point that the damn Wii just prints money. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2034 Joined: 16 May 2008 | Microsoft sees a growing Market and wants a piece of it. What really is the problem here? I could go on a tirade, but I think you just mainly don't understand that we live in a largely capitalist society, where advertising your product is key to success. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1522 Joined: 6 Sep 2008 | Everyone likes money. Microsoft inparticular likes money. If by "too much" you mean "not nearly enough" then you are indeed correct sir. If anything Microsoft hasn't advertised their console much, rather the games that go on it, correctly realizing that nobody gives any shits about the digital soufle your blue ray opus can create (looking at you Sony), but rather what you can play on it. |

exactly, I've seen a lot more focus on advertising the system by Sony. And Nintendo.. well, due to the excentric nature of the Wii, every ad for a Wii game is also a nintendo ad for the Wii, because the players are always seen playing the game. You never see that in 360 ads.. It always just shows you a rendered FMV describing a game |
I believe it's true. Microsoft is the bully of the playground and no wonder so many fanboys are devoted to the damned company. Look at the reasons:
Microsoft spend loads on advertizing on almost every channel and even fast food places. That way most other companys like Nintendo and Sony don't get much screen time and seem worse than Microsoft.
Microsoft buys many cross platform games into exclusives to try and show how big they are but really it's again forcing weaker cards on Nintendo and Sony eg. Portal Still Alive. Yea it's now an exclusive but right there means not as many sales for the game since every PC gamer and PS3 gamer loved to play it as much as other Xbox owners.
Those are just a couple of reasons but they are quite big reasons. I like some games and I like Xbox...just the first one. They messed up by rushing the 360 and just because they have the most stuff doesn't mean they are the best. Now what's your views on the matter? I mean what would you do if some rich kid kept buying all the cool stuff from everyone and bullying everyone else as well? That's the situation other companys are in right about now.
