FPS: FEAR Problem: Too Scary Solution: Remove all little girls from this game and all mention of little girls as if you had to make a scary first person shooter for someone listed on meganslaw.com
Game:Resistance. Problem:It ends. Solution:Build a time machine, and go to the release of Resistance 2. Then play. Or you could just play the online till RE:2 comes out.
The problems: No multiplayer, no beam switching, (so nobody can have a preffered weapon in multplayer) no beam combos (The super missile was just satifying.) and the way they applied hypermode.
The solution: Just change all the things on this list. Hypermode isn't coming back anyway as it was story related and that story is over.
Eggo: FPS: Nearly all console FPS games Problem: No non-borked mouse/keyboard support Solution: Implement non-borked mouse/keyboard support
You mean like the Frag FX?
That's only for the PS3 and that still doesn't constitute non-borked M/K support (although it's a great step in the right direction).
Besides, the most prominent console FPS is on the Xbox 360 and the current third party hardware for mouse/keyboard support for it don't work very well.
SplitFish is currently only supporting the PlayStation 3 with the US$59.99 FragFX controller, a device which was developed for SCEA's Resistance: Fall of Man. The CEO says that the reason his company hasn't jumped to Xbox 360 is that Microsoft remains steadfast in not allowing mouse-like controllers on the platform. Since the FragFX device clearly has a mouse controller, Microsoft isn't sold on the concept, even though they did see prototypes for the Xbox platform.

I thought Call of Duty 4 was the most prominent FPS, as it remains the highest played FPS on both systems. At the end of the year, it will probably shift to Resistance 2 on the Ps3, and Far Cry 2 on the 360 (so sue me, I think Resistance 2 online might be more entertaining).
Wait, its $59.99 US? I thought it was $130 - shit, I've got to get me one.

What he said. God damn, can't a man play a good FPS these days without horror elements?
FPS: Half Life Problem: Not available in a hard copy any more Solution: Move out of Australia

Eggo: Halo 3 is far more culturally prominent than COD4 but it's all semantics anyway; my point still stands.
I think the Halo series is more culturally prominent, but COD 4 is more prominent than Halo 3, which is the only one of the series to still be Console exclusive.
But now I'm just nitpicking.
I can see what you're saying, yes, but I fail to see your point. You're saying that arguably the most well known console exclusive First Person Shooter is on a system that has no mouse support - I say that there are some console exclusive FPS that have mouse support on the Ps3 via the Frag FX. If one system is behind in this respect, that does not detract from the other being at a sufficient level for it to not be a problem for that console, or rather that the problem itself is exclusive to one console (the Wiimote works brilliant for FPS's, so long as they don't require swordfighting)(don't say keyboard is better than buttons, thats just getting argumentative).
FPS: TF2 Problem: Point and click adventure pyros Solution: Introduce them to Day of the Tentacle.
FPS: TF2 Problem: Lingering flame damage lasts too long and does too much damage. Solution: Reduce lingering flame time by half, keep same damage per tick.
FPS: TF2 Problem: Pyro is a hard counter to many classes. Solution: Make one class a hard counter to the pyro by giving him the tools to keep enemies at a range.
FPS: Jericho Problem: TOO FUCKING HARD! Solution: Get rid of the completely bullshit suicide monsters... And bitch slap anyone who ever even mentions them again.

Halo 3 is the highest played xbox live game now, but cod4 did hold the spot of number one for around ten months.
FPS: CoD4 Problem: Too many team killers in hardcore difficulty. Soloution: Make it so that when you shoot your team the damage goes to you. (IW willa ctually be putting this in, so yay!).
FPS: Half Life Problem: Not available in a hard copy any more Solution: Move out of Australia
Don't know where you're from but I could've sworn I saw the Anthology in the shop the other day (UK). Otherwise go to a Games Exchange or similar, somewhere must have it.
Grenade spamming in COD4 only happens on shipment and wet work though :o
=/ It really doesn't. Every single bloody game, no matter the map.
For mine: Halo 3 Problem: Shitty 5-10 hour storymode. Solution: Fire the bad writers. Hire good ones. Double/Triple storymode length. This *is* the end of the trilogy after all
Dayantis: FPS: Team Fortress 2 Problem: It's too addictive and eats my time. Solution: Break my fingers.
Problem: your fingers are broken Solution: Learn to play with your feet
Game: Day of Defeat: Source Problem: Spawn camping Machine gunners Solution: Add in server option to auto-slay players who fire repeatedly into spawn areas.
Indigo_Dingo: FPS: TF2 Problem: Spies sapping mah Sentry! Solution: Use wrench as needed.
I know, I'm horrible
I'm worse.
Game: Portal (Xbox360 Version) Problem: No level editor Solution: Add one, even if as priced DLC
Game: Half Life 2 Problem: The airboat section Solution: Fix the damn teleporter
Game: Halo 3 Problem: Vehicles have a frustrating control scheme, steer from the center, have tyres that are coated with butter, and in general handle like bricks. Solution: Impliment better driving physics, add a simple RT=Accelerate, LT=Brake/Reverse, LS= steer, A=Handbrake system, like any sensible driving mechanic would.
Random argument man: FPS: Goldeneye Problem: Needs to be on xbox live Solution: Buy a N64, 4pads and Goldeneye
It would be cheaper than buying it on XBLA, possibly.
FPS: Halo Series Problem: The 'community' Solution: Compulsory modification to all controllers. Administers electric shock sufficient to render victim unconcious then shuts down console if: i) Player is under 15 and attempts to connect to live. ii)Player uses cusses, racial epithets, noob or variation(s) whilst mic button is active. iii) Player repeatedly attacks team mates iv) Player makes more than 3 kills within opposing team's spawn area(s) without leaving. v) Player attempts to leave negative feedback for 'unsporting conduct' because they are losing.
If five shocks are administered within seven days of each other, sixth shock will be fatal to user. I estimate that this will clean up Xbox live (whilst simultaneously decimating the teenage population of the United State of America, Europe and Russia) within one week.
FPS: Everything new in The Orange Box Problem: Won't play on my computer past; double-clicking the icon, start of a game, and first portal respectively Solution: Copy all important data off of my computer, shoot it, replace with a better computer using XP instead of Vista
FPS: TF2 Problem: Pyro is a hard counter to many classes. Solution: Soldier, against backburners. Heavy against Pyros, esp. Natasha (keeps enemmies at range just as suggested) Medic with Blutsauger... There are plenty of ways to counter a Pyro!

The Frag FX still doesn't constitute non-borked mouse support though.
And if the manufacturer of the second best selling console out there explicitly doesn't want mouse support, then you have to wonder why Microsoft would do such a thing. Maybe they don't want to cannibalize PC gaming sales or something?
And yeah, the Wiimote works really well for FPS games...Now we just have to wait for The Conduit to come out :]
Name an FPS, say a problem you have with it, and think of a way to solve said problem.
