Both AOTS and Code Monkeys are the greatest two shows on the tele.

I like Game Makers. It comes on at like 9 AM and is a documentry on developing video games and such, out of that list Code Monkeys, but where the hell's Freaky?

all the good ones have been canceled, and x-play is a shell of it's former self.

X-Play is the only decent show left, but it is falling to the G4 curse. G4 is becoming too mainstream(they try, but it is still virtually underground) and becoming too much like Spike. I miss 2004-06 when it was still good, though it did start to crumble in '06. TechTv was better anyway. Why did they have to take an extra casualty with them?

I miss my old X-Play, my old AOTS when it was more about gaming/tech then "nerd" culture in general. My Anime Unleashed(R.O.D. was amazing). The old ICONs. And most of all, Judgement Day. Now I will go to my living room, hug my TV and cable box, and cry as I mourn the loss.

Ouch.

I fully expected the "I don't watch G4" to be the winner by a landslide.

I enjoy X-play, and they are starting to review much more games and I've seen more skits from them. So I think it is going back slightly to it's roots.

Whatever, I still watch it (plus the LBP special's coming up :D *happy panda*)

I watch G4 Tech TV (Canadian version of G4), and I like Reviews on the Run best. Much more in-depth game reviews and nothing else!

Well, it's kinda a sad realization that non tech shows outnumber game/tech shows on what used to be an awesome channel.

Kinda like when MTV used to play music videos instead of all the crap on there now.

Personally I like AoTS and X-Play, though the format of X-Play should be revamped again. I like when they did more reviews and more game coverage. The interactive virtual audience and video mail is just lame.

R-tard #1: Do you think GTA IV will be good?
R-tard #2: What do you think about X? (where X is any title already covered to death, or so far in the future, it could be just a rumor)

AoTS at least has Gadget Pr0n and seems pretty fair and balanced when it comes to tech toys.

Code Monkeys at least is based in a fictional 'gaming' universe where we can all relate to.

So, I guess that leaves me scratching my head why G4 has anything to do with Cheaters or Cops. They just seem so out of place and repeat so many times during a day.

Edit: I guess I'm saying other shows like along the lines of 'Modern Marvels', 'Popular Mechanics', 'How'd they do that?' are a much better fit for a tech channel than some crack whore being arrested for the 100th time, or some fat chick spying on her trashy boyfriend who works at Wal-Mart or Applebees skeezing on some other hideous chick.

X-Play's almost the only thing worth watching on that channel anymore. Bring Back ARENA!!

Sadly I don't get G4 anymore, but I watch it once in a while if I'm at a friends house who does.

I picked other because I like multiple shows on there. Code Monkeys, Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke are all pretty awesome.

I don't really like the new format of X-Play all that much (I still watch it though) and I haven't liked AOTS since Kevin Rose left it.

I never saw Arena, but I wish they'd tone down on the Duty Free TV. 10293237429087509 episodes of Ninja Warrior is annoying.

None. I stopped watching G4 years ago. X-Play was the last show worth watching for a while, then went down the drain. It isn't NEARLY as funny as it was before the G4 takeover. How anyone finds that show funny now is beyond me, because the comedy in X-Play now consists entirely of poop jokes, crude celebrity cut-outs saying a famous line, and repeating a lame joke ten fucking times per review. The "humor" in X-Play now is the sort of stuff I would laugh at if I was still seven. When I finally stopped watching, it was at the point where the humor was so pathetic that I couldn't make it through a single review without wanting to cut my ears off.

Likewise, G4 is one of the most schizophrenic channels ever. They don't know what the hell their target audience is, so they just throw random shows at the viewers and see what sticks. That, or they are damned determined to make a very mediocre channel by trying to please everyone. Look at their lineup and you'll see just a complete hodgepodge of random shows, each targeting a totally different audience. For a gaming analogy, G4 is like a game developer who wasn't sure what genre they wanted their game to be, so they just made a shooter/RPG/RTS/platformer/dating sim. You can see how this wouldn't work, and thus understand why G4's lineup makes little sense. At one time a while back, the lineup was trying to please gamers, perverts (They had a show about modern "sex tech"), Trekkies, street racers, cops, anime fans, and many more. The channel just has no clear focus.

Wasn't that how it was always like? Infact, that's what it was like before, I have yet to see a poop joke or celebrity cut outs again and again now.

Sparkly Weasel:
H I started watching G4 back when it was still Tech TV, and I loved it. It had great shows, like X-Play(then) and The Screen Savers (now AOTS.)
A It was the nerd channel, for people like me.
L Let me break it outline the shows as they were and as they are now-
I Filter- Dian Mizota was the host, and they did a top ten for stuff like Best story, Worst game, and Best graphics. After a brief dab into pop culture, they replaced Dian Mizota with Beth Ostrosky, and Best music with "Guys it's OK to hate" The show now exist as a 60 bit in the ads.
W The Screen Saver- Used to be a talk show for nerds, with neat gadgets and sites, cool events, and fun stuff like LAN Party thursday and Free Play Friday. Now it's Attack of The Show, and the Around the Net is just a collection of recent YouTube videos. Plus the occasional gimmick. They almost completely forgot about gaming.
A Robot Wars- Neat little show, sort of campy. Basically robot v. Robot in a fight to the death, in an unforgiving arena. It's gone now.
L-Arena- Cometetive gaming on TV. The first place I saw Kevin Periera. 2 teams go in, one team comes out. It was pretty cool, a nerds football game.
I- X-Play- The reason I started to watch the network to begin with. With funny and informative reviews, they cought my attention. With their funny skits, they got my laughs. With their complete shutdown of reviews, they earned my hate. They have 1, count it, 1 review per episode.
Of the original hosts, only Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, and Kevin Periera remain. Good shows have been replaced with Cops and Cheaters. This network really fell from 1337 to noob. Not "Newb" as in inexperienced or new, "Noob" as in just sucks.

I like AOTS. It is entertaining and the interaction between Kevin and Olivia is really funny sometimes. I like the feed since it usually gives me the Tech/geek news I like. But come on who doesn't want to look at Olivia Munn. She could be number one on my list.

Attack of the Show and X-Play are the only good shows on G4.

They need to get rid of stupid shit like Hurl, Cheaters, and Cops. Hell, if they could turn it back into Tech TV, re-hire all of the good people they fired, get back all of the good shows that used to be on it (Unscrewed with Martin Sargent, The Screen Savers, Robot Wars, Filter, etc.) then I might be happy with G4.

Meh X-play's alright but I take everything Adam Cesspool and Morgan Manjaw say in their reviews with a grain of salt. You can tell just from Morgan's review of Tales of the Abyss that she didn't even give that game a chance.

No, back in the days of Tech TV there was significantly less of that sort of humor. It was about six-seven months after the G4 takeover that they started to degrade to the level that they were when I stopped watching.
