I tend to stay till at least the end of the round, or map if I can.

If you're referring to rage quits, where people just leave. I think they're bad losers and irritating ones too as the teams have to get re balanced because of them. Although they often help their former teammates because of it...

I leave games when I'm assigned to the team filled with morons, like in CoD4, being the only non-sniper in Search and Destroy on offense, being the only one with a positive score in TDM and having snipers cry because 3 enemy snipers are looking at their camp spot are common reasons for me to leave.

I don't leave teams often only If I actually have to go, like I have to go meet someone or solve some immedieate crisis.

I do understand why some people leave sometimes though, I've been tempted a few times myself, for example when most of your team starts betraying on halo because they think we've lost.

The way I see it, online games are generally pot luck, sometimes you get a great team or meet some nice adventurers in WoW for a dungeon and things are awesome, but then you'll get ninja's and pwnzorz who can't handle whats going on and/or ruin the expierience.

You've got to take the bad with the good sometimes, I just refuse to let anyone ruin my gaming expierience ^^

I don't but I know people who can get frustrated, so I do understand it. I like to wait it out, maybe I'll suddenly get better or he'll get worse, or maybe I won't lose by 17 like I originally thought. It's just better to see it through to the bitter end.

other. It depends why. If you're leaving because you're losing than I hate you. If you're about to get laid or something I'm not going to expect you to stay.

I avoid multi-player games for this reason. I'm a quitter. I'm not saying I'm a sore loser, but if I just feel like I need to stand up and walk around, or worse, get pissed off at the game, I see no reason to continue playing. It starts to hurt to play if I'm bored or enraged.

I just started up a Freelancer server, and my brother loves to play it. There was twice now that he was headed for me to team up, but I was on some mission that I just blew up without much warning, so I was too pissed to keep playing.

Dont' get me wrong. I'm not an angry person, but if things put me over the anger threshold, then playing more is the last thing I should be doing.

RL > Any game. If poeple feel like leaving, that's up to them. Also if they feel that they are badly underqualified to fight you, I think it's not more than fair that they go look for a game better suited to their level. Or are you saying they must stay on an humiliate themselves just so that you can get your ego stroked?

If they have a legitimate reason then I don't mind. Like if they have a crisis that suddenly came up or something. Or perhaps their Internet crapped out. Or someone suddenly just dropped by unannounced. That also happened to me while playing TF2 once. My girlfriend randomly decided to drop by without calling, so I left.

Now, if they just did it because they hate losing then no. I HATE those people. I still remember a time in Call of Duty 4 when my team was nothing but a single clan of guys and me, who wasn't part of the clan. We were playing Domination and the enemy got a few points ahead. The clan started yelling "Oh fuck this, we lost." and they all left. I left after that because I was all alone. Mind you, this was the early stages of the match, we had PLENTY of time to catch up had the little pricks just played the damn game. It was just a few points!

Basically for me, I find that generally people who quit games because they are losing are the uber competitive types and just try to avoid these types of people, there's nothing wrong with being competitive but when you ruin other peoples playing expierience then thats where they've crossed a line in my books.

I don't leave unless there's a really good reason, like my house burning down, or my captee coming lose from their bindings and scratching at the walls and screaming.... maybe.

The only time I consider leaving a game justifiable is if the game/teams are stacked in such a way that it is impossible to turn things around. That's why momentum based games are never any fun. EG: DotA.

I notice that alot in the Warcraft 3 maps I play, as soon as something goes sour everyone leaves.

Or someone says something offensive, everyone leaves.

Or someone makes an honest mistake, everyone on that persons team leaves.

It really makes me annoyed when I host games and 1 person leaves because they joined without wanting to play and everyone else leaves or just plain start abusing others

Sometimes you know you can't win and playing further is more annoying and tedious than fun. Why stay?

Sometimes you really have to go somewhere suddenly, like your parents start bitching or that prune juice you drank earlier started to suddenly go into effect. Personally I try to ensure I can finish an online game if I start, but sometimes things come up.

Sometimes you play with someone who is so ridiculously noob that you seriously wonder if they're not secretly backstabbing. Why stay?

It happens. At my old place, at random times the lag would get REALLY bad, and sometimes we'd get dropped from a game (which was better than things appearing and disappearing randomly).

It sucks, and when the score is like 98 the other team 5 for us it's a douchebag move. But if they're dragging everyones ping down, or if they're just gonna team kill anyways, they might as well quit.

I hate it when people leave just because the team is losing. I HATE it even more when they go to the other team just so they can get kills, it just unbalances the teams even more.

I am loyal to the team i get assigned to (as i auto assign) even when they are down. I find it more satisfying when the losing team makes a come back and wins, shows them team switching tards who kicks ass.

I only leave if something important come up or the team is so ridiculously retarded you think no wonder you guys are losing.

Ya know, I could probably count the number of times that I've played games online on one hand and have fingers left over. But I leave a game when it becomes boring or tedious. Since most online games are just chat rooms with a game attached, and most people in internet chat rooms are boring, tedious, but mostly both, I have no problems quitting a game on these schmucks.

If the guy/gal leaves for his/her personal life reasons, I can understand him/her. But leaving because were close to losing, that means he/she sucks.

I'm a "Till The Bitter End" kind of gamer. Frankly I consider one of the most important parts of a game is the ability to enjoy loosing. Nothing beats the feeling of having a defiant last stand.

I always stick it through till the bitter end, and i'm normally the one on the loosing team laughing at all the others whining that someone was in their favourite hiding spot or whatnot.

What the bannana said. If something comes up, gaming won't be my priority. But if you're just getting destroyed and you quit, then I get annoyed.

There is very little that will get me to leave a game in the middle of a match. The end of the match is another deal entirely though.

The list includes, and is pretty much limited to the following events. Emergencies such as fire, earthquakes and the like. Internet disconnecting, which happens a lot more than I would like, because my DSL modem and ISP are both crap. Sex.

What the Ken. Mastah said.

Sometimes, I have personal things to do, so I just log off and be on my way. Other times, Lag drops me out for no reason. But even if I'm losing horribly, I always play till the end, especially if I leveled up or something.

I dont have that strong feelings about it, after all isnt the point of a game to have fun, and if your not having fun, why should you continue? That said, I never quit because im losing, only if a)Something in real life comes up or b)the team im on is full of racists and/or whiny kids, both with mics and very happy to abuse my ears. Though there is one gametype, in one game that I cant stand people leaving, and that my friends, is rocket race in Halo 3. Anyone whos played it will tell you how much crazy fun it is. It consists of four teams, both with rocket launchers, trying to get to zones to score points. Two to each team, VIPs cant drive, but man rockets. Invincinility is on, so a rocket will only knock you flying, not kill you. Now, when someone leaves, it shifts VIP to the person left on that team, meaning that they cant drive a mongoose, and dont have a hope in hell of doing anything productive. And when someone leaves at the start of a game, it just gets stupid.

I don't hate it when people leave. I have it when people quit. Sometimes people have things that come up and they have to go. Though there are some other people (like ones I met during my brief online stint in Halo 3) that quit because they don't get a map or game type they like. It seems to be snipers or nothing with them.

In connection with the Halo statement, when I first started playing matches on Xbox Live my router was semi incompatible with the Live system so I got disconnected a lot mid-game. I had a lot of negative gamer reviews saying I had 'quit early'. Though I did infact disconnect early, it doesn't mean I wanted to! =P

doesn't bother me a bit, in cod4 new people just get thrown into the mix. On halo 3 it just gives me an excuse to camp, hide, run and generally annoy the other team. I remember one halo match my team quit and i just ran and hid with the shotgun, it bored the other team so bad they left(its hard to play 10 min trying to find a guy)
